We warmly welcome Tiffany the Chimera into the SenZ Critter Club!
~ The Uplifting Story ~
Knowing no true family or masters, Tiffany longed for years to find an adopter and place in the world. Half-feline and half-fennec fox with a sassy vibe to match, this exotic creature yearned to be found and brought somewhere she'd fit, somewhere that felt like a home — a "forever home" as they say.
None could even begin to predict that late tonight, in the lonely after-hours of the old dimly-lit shelter where she lived most of her life, that she'd get her wish in the strangest of ways. Even stranger yet, her new home would be nowhere on this Earth...
Seen through magical optics afar and silently observed for several months by Sera & SenZ, the pair could detect and sympathize with Tiffany's plight. They recognized the duality of light & dark within and external to her. Few if any other creatures in the worlds they remotely study from a distance, had captured their intrigue and attention as did Tiffany.
And so after much deliberation and contemplation, ultimately culminating in The Master's approval, Seralaea the Traveler embarked to locate the chimera girl and offer her the second chance they both knew she so deeply desired — the white-furred rabbit journeying far and directly to the chimera's exact location, her personal room specifically! No other choice, this had to be carried out in secrecy.
Within a matter of minutes following 'mission approval', as silently as she could Sera slowly opened the required tear in space (a 'window' as she calls it) directly in Tiffany's room. The window technique is no easy magic to pull off, even Sera herself can only hold it open for a matter of minutes before it collapses.
Hearing a slight commotion and rolling over on the small modest cot in her bleak 'shelter standard' room, Tiffany jolted in shock seeing an intruder (Sera) sitting on the chair in the corner, bearing a slight smile. Needless to say, a hundred-and-one frightened questions were asked about who Sera was, how she got in there, and so forth... you can imagine the initial panic and subsequent exchange :)
Sera softly calmed Tiffany and explained everything (still to the chimera's utter disbelief) and after Tiffany cautiously lowered her defenses, they traded introductions as she came to sense Sera's authenticity and sincerity. She meant no harm. There was an aura about Sera so charming, so persuasive, and so powerful... in a mysterious yet trustworthy way.
The dimensional rift slowly closing, Sera apologized for the expediency of the situation and offered Tiffany the chance to leave the shelter once and for all. A new beginning, far away. For Tiffany, the decision was easier than you might think. With little hope of a future in her current situation, and really nothing to lose, nervously trusting in Sera she accepted the offer and invitation — though not yet realizing that she'd be traveling a LOT farther than Sera let on... more than words could describe really!
In typical Seralaea fashion and to Tiffany's complete awe, Sera gambled with a risky maneuver and strenuously attempted to widen the window to the homeworld in one last-ditch effort to buy just a minute more! Success, but risky.
Offering some last-minute reassuring words and a gentle hand, Sera softly but directly asked:
"Are you ready, and absolutely sure you want to leave here? If so, take only what you need."
Eyes glazed from happiness, Tiffany nodded. She hurriedly fetched her journal, a notebook, and a few very personal trinkets and keepsakes. The girl had little else to her name. In a bag they went, firmly at her side.
"This is going to be extremely fast and a bit dizzying. Just look straight ahead Tiffany, it will only last a few minutes and we'll be through to the other side, I promise!"
She nodded again, grasped Sera's hand firmly, and within a few moments was happily (albeit quickly!) whisked through the bizarre and mesmerizing portal, away from that mundane place where she had lived and waited for a family as so many years clicked by...
Well on their way, Tiff looked back with wide concerned eyes to see the shrinking view of the bedroom and portal recede behind them at frightening speed as it abruptly collapsed far behind her and Sera, giving off a deafening bang that echoed in the dimensional tunnel rushing past them like a jet-stream, as well as reverberating the entire shelter on the other side and waking up everyone left behind.
"Look forward!" Sera reminded her with a smile, having to shout a bit due to the echoing and loud noise of rushing wind as they rapidly flew forward through the tunnel between worlds. Were they being pulled, or could Sera fly? The mysterious rabbit never once faltered the confident look on her face, as if she'd done this a hundred times. It all seemed like a fantastic dream to Tiffany. But it was no dream.
She held on tight and hugged her bag of belongings as Sera led point, her arm stretching and getting sore. The force of the initial acceleration was intense, but now they had reached a consistent velocity. Very distantly ahead, Tiffany could see some sort of faint light beginning to pulse. Was it the end of the tunnel, Sera's world on the other side? As the light grew closer, Tiffany could feel herself and Sera decelerating, preparing to make a safe leap out and into the peculiar new realm.
Back at the shelter, only an empty room would be found. For all they ever knew from that night on, Tiffany presumably ran off or disappeared. Fortunately for her, to a much better place where she'd find companionship, be cared for and treated well, and be appreciated forever.
This sassy hybrid will undoubtedly bring excitement, laughter, and light to the once-lonely corridors of the Big House, if also a little bit of chaos and mischief along the way, and that's alright. Things were always too quiet with only SenZ and Sera to grace the halls!
