Nack and Storm looked at each other and took the opportunity  to try to sneak out. Only they stopped stark still when the mad scientist looked their way, giving them the creeps.

"You two, stay with us. We've more work to do here"
Knuckles did not like the sound of that at all.

"You were standing behind him when I arrived" Fini addressed the fat albatross then asked "Did you get to finish?"

Storm feeling unsure, scratched the back of his head then answered rather rushed "N-no, I didn't even put it in him!" The feathered one shouted defensively, feeling as if he'd be in dire trouble if he did.

Yet the response he got from the white echidna surprised everyone in the room, especially Knuckles. "I see... Well then I suppose you're still next to breed with the guardian"

Said guardian felt his stomach drop when he heard that and he was soon thrashing again despite his weakened state. "No! Finitevus! Think about what you're doing, this is sick!"

"I got the shot, Doc" Scourge announced on his return and saw that Nack and Storm were still around.

"Give me that" Finitevus snatched the syringe and walked briskly over to Knuckles who flinched at the approaching foot steps, then yelped when the sharp prick of the needle was stuck into his right buttock. "Just a minuscule dose, because it's no fun without a little resistance" Said the doctor who stroked the red one's tail while pushing down the plunger a little.

Once it was removed Knuckles felt the serum working to keep his muscles weakened, his legs wobbling a little.

"Damn you ...Finitevus"

"Damn me all you want, child. I'm damned by Aurora herself and I am not fazed." He chuckled darkly then there was a beep as Knuckles found himself abruptly falling to the floor in a heap.

The doctor had just released his hands from the locked cylinders and let him collapse before backing away.

"Scourge, Nack." He addressed the hedgehog and weasel.
