But this is just too much fun!\" \n\nOh that arrogance... Knuckles didn't like it at all, nor did he care for Sonic's obnoxious self entitlement to go around doing whatever he damn well pleased. Feelings that were accentuated by a pulsating vein bulging in his forehead above his right eye. This area of the island was a sacred place, one Knuckles would never dream of disrespecting. Sonic was going too far this time and he had to end it. \"You're so going to regret this! I AM NOT HAVING FUN!\"\n\nSonic snickered at that. \"That's what makes it even more fun for me!\" He teased coldly and looked back again, only to be confused when he caught no sight of the angry guardian chasing him. \"Huh? OOF!\" Some air was expelled from his lungs as he ran directly into something soddenly in his way that was rather durable, but soft despite being so sturdy. Shocked, Sonic turned his head and gulped as he saw red standing right before him.\n\nKnuckles had the idea to utilize a warp ring, warping himself right into the middle of the hedgehog's path. He put his hands out and stopped Sonic from going any further. He was the one smirking now when the blue one had a look of sudden shock and dread as he started to back up away from him.\n\n\"Aw jeeze, Knucklehead. You aren't that mad are you?\" The hedgehog chuckled nervously backing away with his hands up defensively, but still being the Sonic he always was, he couldn't resist poking the metaphorical bear that was about to rip his face off. \"It's a hot day, I figured you needed a lil cool down and exercise cuz all ya were doing was sitting around in the sun like a dope!\"\n\n\"Grk!\" Knuckles' eyelid twitched and that vein popped in his forehead again, his blood now coming to a boil from Sonic's last remarks. \"I WAS MEDITATING AND YOU DUMPED A GALON SLUSHIE ON ME!\" He roared and Sonic nearly squealed when a furious spiked fist was suddenly launched forth en-rout at terrifying speeds directly to his face!\n\n\"WHOA!\" That fist actually had fire on it! But the blue nuisance was lucky in that he managed to dodge it with only singing a few quills. He dove out of the fist's pathway and looked back at the echidna, who's eyes widened as his powerful punch struck a pillar instead. No time to retract or lessen the power behind that blow, as expected the large cylindrical sculpture outright exploded into scattered pieces!\n\nKnuckles was left to stand slack jawed, dropping his arms like dead weight at his sides while his brain either tried to register or block out what had just happened. \"...No\" He muttered, staring down at the pathetic stump which was all that was left of the beautifully engraved pillar of stone which stood tall and pristine moments ago.\n\nSonic was going to book it out of there, knowing from many past experiences how crazy angry the red echidna was likely to be after destroying something on his island. But he couldn't help tilting his head at the strange sight of Knuckles' reaction this time. \"Knucklehead?\" He blinked at the other then stood up after he got no response from the echidna, who simply looked horrified at he damage in front of him..\n\nIt was as if Sonic was witnessing Knuckles' brain snapping within the very confines of his hardened skull, his jaw simply slack and an expression of disbelief and bewilderment etched in his face. It was actually concerning if not almost a little scary. \"C'mon man... heh\" The hedgehog began, sounding kind of nervous as he made his way over with baby steps \"I-it's not th'end of the world, I mean... It can't be that bad if you still got a whole field of these things, right?\" He asked, and placed a hand on the guardian's shoulder hoping to get Knuckles to see his lighthearted point of view.\n\nKnuckles didn't see it from Sonic's perspective however, and something inside him snapped when the hand fell upon his shoulder, adding insult to what was being said to him. \"Not a big deal?!\" He roared and grabbed Sonic's wrist in a harsh grip, turning towards him with rage burning in his eyes. \n\n\"AH!, He-hey let go!\" Sonic was startled and tried to pull his hand free but the crimson echidna wasn't even letting him budge. \"You're pissed, I get it! I'll just go away for a while and let you calm down in the meantime!\" \n\n\"No you don't get it, Sonic!\" Knuckles retorted, seething anger and squeezing Sonic's wrist so tightly as to make the hedgehog feel pain. \"I oughta punch your lights out, wake you up and punch them out again!\" The echidna snarled at him. \"But I know damn well throttling your face in wont make you stop acting like a big childish idiot!\"\n\nSonic grit his teeth and groaned as the grip around his wrist truly did become so painful his knees damn near almost buckled under him and caused him to quit his futile struggle. \"Y'don't, agh...gotta do anything, man\" The hedgehog winced \"Ju-just lemme go and we act like it never happened! That's cool right?!\"\n\n\"No way, Sonic. I need to teach you a lesson!\" The echidna countered, and then a smirk grew upon his muzzle as his own phrasing surfaced a new idea in his mind. \"Oh yeah, I'll teach you a lesson alright.\"\n\nSonic didn't like the sound of that, nor did he find the smirk or look in Knuckles' eyes to be of any sort of comfort. He closed his eyes and clenched his teeth with his hands balled up at his sides, just waiting for that fist to come flying into his face like he was sure it would. However, he let out a yelp in surprise when he found himself roughly yanked and pushed over something on his stomach. \"Gah! What the!\"\n\nKnuckles decided not to punch Sonic. Instead he sat down atop of the stone stump where the pillar once stood proud and he yanked the blue hedgehog down over his lap! \"You don't look so cocky now, do you?\" He remarked as he saw the confused face of the blue hedgehog looking over his shoulder at him. \n\n\"Knux... Dude! What the hell is this?!\" Sonic struggled to get away, but the red brawler had both of his hands held firmly behind his back and too much movement put a painful strain on his arms. \"Ow, argh-leggo man!\" But despite the hurt he was nearly as stubborn as his furious rival, so he tried and gave a few hard jerks in attempt to break free but only ended up yowling in the pain it rewarded him.\n\n\"No, Sonic\" Knuckles brought his free hand up to his mouth and clamped on the thick fabric of his mitt with his teeth, yanking the material off and discarding it on the ground. \"If punching your lights out time and time again doesn't get you to learn, then maybe I'll have to try something else!\"\n\nAt that, Sonic froze in shock and his muzzle turned a deep shade of red as he felt the now bare hand of Knuckles resting on his backside. \"Oh no...\" It was at this moment he fully realized his butt was up in the air on purpose, to be the prime target of the echidna's wrath in the form of something he had never had before... \n\n\"Oh yes\" Knuckles confirmed the hedgehog's fears by raising his hand up and bringing his open palm down harshly upon his left cheek with a loud smack! Not only did this hurt, but Sonic was reeling from the sheer fact that it was happening.
