He's also given a very lucrative opportunity.", "writing": "The Setup: Part 3\nWhen Sawiz awoke the next morning, he kicked off his off-brand combat boots, slipped out of his jeans, removed his coat and body armor, and grabbed a shower to wash himself of the previous day’s grime and sweat. Just as the hot water began to relieve the tension in his muscles, his commlink went off. With a sigh, he stepped out of the shower and grabbed a towel to dry his scales of water.\nHe lumbered into the next room to check his commlink, mildly surprised to find a message from O’Rien. His contact information had changed, though. “Heard about the ambush. I didn’t know. I’ve got details. Meet me here ASAP.” Attached to the message is map data with the meeting location. Sawiz redressed, this time deciding to take his Ares Predator V pistol with him, and slipping a new black t-shirt on over his body armor. He moved the slap patch and everything else he’d gathered from the pick-up the previous night into his wall safe, and then took off.\nLacking a vehicle, Sawiz had to walk to the location indicated on the map. Fortunately, it was only a kilometer away. Sawiz made good time, arriving in about 15 minutes. This time the door was a regular wooden one, leading into what seemed like the bottom floor of a suite of apartments. An elevator took up most of the back wall, it was so cramped in there. A door opened up on the back wall, next to the elevator shaft and out stepped O’Rien. Sawiz immediately went to his Predator, but didn’t draw it.\n“I know I’ve got a lot of explaining to do,” O’Rien began, “so just hear me out. I was set up, too. As soon as I left our last meeting spot, I was met with a hail of gunfire. I burned my commlink just in case that was how they were tracking me, and as soon as I got a new one I called you. I’ve been moving discreetly ever since. I almost thought it was you who set me up, until I saw news on ShadowLand about your setup. Apparently not all runners were at home last night, even if they weren’t working. Anyway, I’ve got the information on the Renraku Johnson that contacted me for the job.”\nO’Rien fingered his commlink, and seconds later Sawiz’s beeped. \n“I’ve given you the information I have, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that identity has already been burned. This was a major setup, and I doubt they’d leave behind traces. Still, we should at least check out the leads we have. And by we, I mean you. Finish the job, and I’ll settle any debts you have outstanding, and pay you another two hundred grand on top of expenses. This is a personal contract, from me to you. I’ll continue to dig up what I can on the Johnson in the meantime. What do you say?”\nSawiz took his hand away from his gun, and fluttered his wings. This was a lot for him to take in and up until this point, he’d thought O’Rien had set him up. He still wasn’t sure if this was just another setup, but the money was just too good to pass up. And since I don’t know how deep it goes, I’m offering you an opportunity most runners never get. The opportunity to get out, start fresh. With what I’m paying you, you could even become a SINner again, get a cushy job as a wageslave for a triple-A. I can organize for a few side jobs to be sent to your terminal to cover expenses in the interim. I’m still a Fixer after all, and you’re now my priority team.
