Since it's even shown in Sonic X that he can turn into dark Sonic that even EGGMAN had to calm him down and return to some sanity since if he get's too emotional bad things can happen seeing how he has literal ancient chaos energy different of those who just have the power, he has something really special in him that conflicts with his emotions. \n\nso imagine the world on your back constantly, always having to save everyone at a young age of 15-16 and never getting real peace of mind cause you're just waiting for the next time Eggman pulls something to where he has to risk his life again or even a new villain coming along that he has to stop\n\nof course he'd act excited, I mean let's be honest, people fool themselves with their emotions all the time especially for some things that they don't care to do.
