He flexed and smiled a toothy, wolfish grin at himself, his own guinea pig.\n\nThe hybrid human-wolf creature chuckled and ascended the steps of his laboratory,\naccidentally snagging his tail on the door frame. He frowned. Clearly he had not \nanticipated such an appendage.\n\nReaching the roof, he looked out across the polluted landscape and began to ponder\nwhat indeed he would now be capable of doing. Thoughts of replicating his experiment\ndrove him onward. Cures for innumerable conditions had propelled him to this moment.\n\nAs he glared at the ruined, sick world around him, other thoughts began creeping across\nhis mind. What would be the point, he considered, of helping others if they would just\ngo on destroying this planet?\n\nHe laughed at the moral conflict now starting behind his eyes. Memories of comic book\ncharacters with similar decisions: altruistic endeavours or personal profit? The ironic\nhumor of his predicament dissolved as he reminded himself of his own reality.\n\nSuper hero... or super villain?",
