When you were a little baby, Mommy and Daddy took care of you. They fed you. They dressed you. They carried you everywhere. They even helped you use the potty! If you had just gone in your pants, you may have gotten very, very sick!

Now you're big. You can talk. You can walk. You can feed yourself. You can get dressed. You can even tell Mommy or Daddy when you need to use the potty! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!

This is Daisy. Daisy is a little bunny about your age. She lives in a big house with her Mommy and Daddy. Daisy wears undies and uses the potty. Do you wear undies and use the potty too?
One day, Mommy and Daddy have a present for Daisy. In a box there are some funny-looking pink things called pull-ups! They look like undies, but bigger and thicker. "You're getting to be a big girl, Daisy!" says Mommy. "Soon you'll be ready for diapers just like us!" says Daddy. "When you need to make pee or poop, you just go in your pull-ups instead of the potty," they say. Daisy isn't sure how much she likes that idea.

"You don't have to try right away," says Mommy, "but why don't you try on your pull-ups to see how you look?"

Daisy tries on her new pull-ups. She likes them right away! They make her feel very big and grown-up.

Sometimes Daisy watches Mommy and Daddy use their diapers. When Mommy needs to pee, she takes a deep breath, relaxes, and goes pee in her diaper! Daisy sees it getting warm and wet. When Daddy needs to go poo-poo, he goes behind the couch, squats down, and pushes. Daisy can smell his diaper getting very, very stinky! Daisy likes learrning about things like these.

One day during playtime, Daisy feels something wiggling under her tummy. Just like how Mommy showed her, she takes a deep breath and relaxes.Something warm and wet starts to come out, making her pull-ups feel all wet and soggy. Daisy's going pee-pee! It feels very nice, and there's a big smiley face on the front of her pull-ups too! Mommy and Daddy are very happy!
Another time, Daisy feels something funny in her tummy. Just like Daddy showed her, she squats, takes a deep breath, and pushes as hard as she can. Something warm, soft, squishy, and very, very smelly starts to come out of her bottom and fill her pull-ups. Daisy is going poo-poo! Mommy and Daddy are so pleased and proud of her! Daisy loves the warm squishy feeling, and the big smell too! It makes her feel very, very good!
Daisy loves going in her pull-ups like a big girl! 

But she still likes to use the potty like a baby some of the time. That's okay too. Everyone grows up in different ways. You don't have to be a big cub all the time.

But one day, Daisy tells her Mommy, "I don't wanna use the potty anymore!" Mommy says "Your pull-ups are wet and poopy most of the time now. I think you're ready for diapers!" Mommy changes Daisy into her very first pair of big girl diapers!

Mommy and Daisy take all of her yucky baby undies and yucky baby potty out to the big trash can outside. She sure doesn't need those anymore!

Now, whenever Daisy needs to pee or poop, she doesn't have to stop playing to go use the potty like a little baby anymore! She just pees and poops in her diaper, and goes right back to having fun. The diaper keeps all of her messes inside where they belong. Besides, things like slides, swings, and trikes are so much fun with a dirty diaper!

Getting changed is lots of fun too! When Daisy is all done playing in her dirty diaper, she goes to Mommy or Daddy and says "I need a diaper change, please!" They take her inside and lay her down on her brand-new changing table. First, they take off her dirty diaper, then wipe her bottom with wipes until she's nice and clean. Then, they give her lots of powder and oil so she smells nice and doesn't get a rash. Then, they dress her in a nice new clean and dry diaper.
Daisy likes helping with her diaper change too! Mommy or Daddy give her the old dirty diaper, and Daisy puts it inside a special kind of trash can called a diaper pail. When the diaper pail gets full, Mommy and Daddy take the old dirty diapers out to the big trash can so the garbage truck can come take them away. The garbage truck would get awfully hungry if Daisy didn't make lots and lots of poopy diapers for him to eat!

Daisy wears her new diapers everywhere! She wears them to the park, to the store, and when she's ready, to big cub school too!  It'll be her teacher's job to change her diaper there. When Daisy is all grown-up, she'll be big enough to change her own diapers, but for now, it's better that Mommy, Daddy, or her teacher does it for her.
