I have yet to see anyone do this with his eyes given that he is supposed to be somewhat of a virus. So you know why not start it and see if catches on. I love the fact that he's pretty much a virus living inside Sonic and needed that lil extra detail to show it. I tried my best at drawing "code" behind his irises.
I have a friend who wants to write a story on how this were to happen in a game.
Here's a short summary:
Eggman as per usual is trying to take over the world, but this time he does so via hacking into global command centers all over the world and Tails learns that the only way to stop him is to send Sonic into the digital realm. After what felt like days trekking through the complicated system, with the help of Tails, Sonic confronts the major virus. He destroys it and frees the planet from it's horrible demise, or so he thinks. Days go by and Sonic starts feeling....different, cold even [not as in temp, more in attitude]. Tails realizes this and tries to find the source of his brothers coldness towards him. After much research and digging through some of the recovered files of the virus, he learns that his brother has been infected while fighting with it. Weeks turn into months and all the while the virus keeps spreading at a steady rate. Sonic has learned how to keep it in check for a few hours at best, then things turn for the worst, but not for very long, an hour at best. One night when Tails finally finds the cure his brother so desperately needed, he finds him out cold sprawled on the floor of his living room. Upon closer inspection to find if he was still alive, a hand rushes to his neck with speeds unknown to him.
