It's been years since that day... The day I welcomed her into my life. I never imagined our relationship would grow from that fateful day. I soon went from being a fighting idol to caretaker of a broken girl... I remember getting a call from my sister, Riley, telling me that a nearby orphanage had taken in a young girl from an abusive city and situation with her less-than-caring brother. After getting a ride to said orphanage, I saw her, standing in the playground all alone... She wanted nothing to do with any of the other kids nor the faculty. Her eyes were cold. She wore a luxurious looking uniform, probably from her old school. I then decided to make my approach, hoping I wouldn't scare her away from me.
"Excuse me..." I spoke towards the girl. "But... Are you ok?" After speaking, when the girl turned to meet me, she was horrified at first. "Kyle?!" She spoke in a terrified tone. "Kyle?" I repeated, confused as to what she means before clearing the situation. "I'm...not your brother, I'm afraid. My name is Rush. Are you miss Sofi?" Once she heard my tone of voice and saw my cool blue eyes, she then returned to her cold self, crossing her arms and looking up at me, her eyes like daggers. "You tryin' to scare me to death, huh? What, are you some sort of sorry-ass pansie who tried to look like my brother, but failed halfway?" I attempted to explain myself. "Sofi, I--" But she then lifted her shirt to reveal her pink panties and shouted at me. "You gonna do weird things to me like my brother did, huh?! You got some sort of sick kink for kids, you pervert?!?!" I then spoke up, breaking my gentle outlook to make myself clear. "That's enough!!" She soon looked at me out of shock. "What you've been through up until now... No other child nor person should ever have to go through that... I'm here because I wanna offer you a chance at a better life. If you heard this line before, then I'm sorry, but I'm sick of seeing people hurt or worse. People I can't help or protect. People doomed with no hope of escape!" I then extended my hand with a soft smile. "I wanna be able to save you while I have the chance... Will you at least come with me?"
She hesitated grabbing my hand, as if she expects me to snatch her and hold her captive like some creep, but after looking into my eyes, I eventually felt her hand grasp mine. I then adopted her and became her guardian.
