"description": "Howdy! You might be watching me because you decided to bail on FA to Inkbunny, ironically being chased off the platform from FA's absolutely idiotic policy changes. Sorry you found this to be the only viable alternative, I hope you join me on other platforms like Cohost, Sofurry, and Weasyl, but I can't expect everyone to open an account everywhere. FA and Twitter share this problem as described! Read on:\n\nPlease see my twitter thread (it is an 18+ NSFW space) where I get very angry and very direct. I have tagged the Twitter accounts for Furaffinity and Dragoneer but anticipate I will not in fact receive more than retaliation through blacklisting. It will greatly disappoint me to be annihilated for participating in a basic Civil activity within the boundaries of my own Country, but Furaffinity.net is a LLC, it is privately owned, there are no 1st Amendment protections available. \n\nSpread this everywhere, genuinely. If you are someone who understands the stakes, you should probably by now have clued into the fact that neither Twitter nor Furaffinity make any major gatekeeping attempts to restriction of access of pornography to minors who make accounts. This direct problem means that social spaces between both platforms (and through Discord) will put Minors and Adults into interactions which may be predicated on mutual understanding that everyone in the space is an Adult or similarly aged Peer. That means, that yes, in fact, the policy change regarding AUP will not protect Minors from interactions with Adults under false pretenses of age-appropriate conduct.\n\nWhy does this make it unsafe for Adults?\nLegal Action threatens artists like me every day, it only takes one slip-up for me to vend porn to someone underaged as part of a seemingly-professional transaction. VISA/MasterCard have worked somewhat hard to lobby against ACH Debit being able to be used for pornography purchases online without age verification. This is part of the many stipulations including Obscenity Law in the U.S. that has resulted in legislation originally aimed at defeating Fraud and Money Laundering also being leveraged against private transactions involving pornographic content. Artists you love and access the content to freely and sometimes at a premium, are constantly under threat of monetary deplatforming by the entire online commerce system. I want you to consider that losing the ability to charge 'generic' invoices via Paypal can flag you as a bad actor, you can be banned from CashApp, Venmo, and Stripe for vending pornography oriented illustration services through them. Minors can simply skirt a sizable number of safety mechanisms and with appropriate finesse pay for pornographic illustrations without the vendor being aware. If the Minor has parental intervention happen for some reason, that means you could be facing legal charges of inappropriate conduct, hope you have business insurance and a LLC, or it'll be you as a legal entity facing potential criminal charges.\n\nWhy does this make it unsafe for Minors?\nThe social contact in spaces where there is access to pornography is that everyone involved is an Adult aged 18 or older. This is based largely on the fact that a very sizable portion of the internet's foundational population and infrastructure is based within the United States, and the age of 18 is the legal age of consent and consumption of pornography. Nowhere in the existing legal structure of the U.S. exists a \"just trust me bro\" interaction between Adults and Minors regarding sexual content, and that is just the start of the dicey issues legally speaking. We currently face an unprecedented legislative attack on sex education across the United States at the National, State, and Regional levels of governmental administration. You don't have to look far as even presented favorably, the ban of a sizable portion of literature from schools in the State of Florida by Governor DeSantis for \"containing pornography\" splashes even the book he wants in school -- the Bible. It is developmentally significant the changes in intellectual maturity as a person ages between 13 and 18, and you can ask any Developmental Psychologist for an opinion and they will tell you how often teenagers lack impulse control or good social instincts for being manipulated by bad-actor adults online. We don't look for criminal history here on FA. That means our social space has convicted sex offenders in it, period dot. There are too many for that not to be true.\n\nThese two basic features should give you a reason to consider this policy in a broader context. The problem is that there is a very difficult to establish standard for artistic depictions of chibi, short, cute and proportionally non-human or proportionally immature bodies. Under 2.7, there should be errata established for Feral characters, many of whom will not be aged over 18. Is relative Age now acceptable? Under 2.7 and previous stipulations: Absolutely not for most cases. Dogs become sexually mature between 6 and 9 months on average and I literally had to look that up. So no more ferals, for good measure, right?\n\nThis slope keeps sliding. The less and less socially acceptable something is to broader human society, the more likely expression even coming close will be banned. How many here can remember getting in trouble for drawing inappropriate things depicting violence in their grade school years? Because that's the standard we are returning to.\n\nI have a saying:\n\"Nowhere is by us. Nowhere is for us. Decentralize your Online Alias today!\"\nThis means that ownership of spaces online is not a democratic process. Art galleries like FA are not non-profit community organizations with publicly transparent budgets and accountability to public infrastructure regulations (therefore making them part of the democratic system of checks and balances), and private ownership means there is leverage over your chance to be seen. Your right to exist online is not a right, it is not a guarantee. We are not afforded spaces online out of an understanding of enrichment and community participation enabled by the provided spaces. That needs to change. Until then, we have to fight to avoid being erased by bad policy and bad laws. Fight for the Future. Thank you.",
