"description": "It was a sad day. Ena had heard the boom from the shiny stick that made fire and thunder, and she had seen her dear friend lying motionless in the snow-covered meadow. But then she realized that the young prince was not there. That meant he was still alive and was unaware at the time. She made a dash for his home, with her daughter Faline following close behind, putting distance between themselves and man who may still be lurking somewhere in the meadow. As she neared her friend's home, she came to find Bambi out exploring to find his mother. He hadn't expected to see Faline and Ena. When he asked her where his mother was, she did her best to tell him the truth that wasn't blunt but would help him understand. She knew that no matter how she put it, Bambi would still feel emotional. She saw the tears form in his eyes and did her best to comfort the young prince. \n\nAnother thing that was on Ena's mind was how Bambi was gonna be looked after. He needed a mother's care to survive. He may have started eating grass and tree bark, but he still needed nourishment only a mother could provide, with the food being as scarce as it was. And there weren't many other doe providing for little fawns at Bambi's age. She was the only one remotely near in the forest that had a fawn around Bambi's age. Other Fawns had a bit of an age gap on Bambi and Faline, the other bucks already having their antlers coming in and their spots gone. She knew she couldn't replace Bambi's mother, but she made a promise to her friend's spirit in silence that she would keep Bambi safe and help him grow. \n\nEna then assured Bambi she would look after him as his new mother and she led him to her and her daughter's home. She knew the Great Prince was more than likely looking for his son to make sure he was safe, and she would meet with him later to let him know Bambi would be taken under her care. For now, as they came to Ena and Faline's sheltered home, Ena helped Bambi cope with his emotions, as she offered her milk to the young buck. He soon accepted and began to nurse. He was still shedding tears at the news of his mother's passing, but the milk did help, and Faline did her part to help further comfort her adopted brother by giving his back licks of comfort to let Bambi know that she was there to help him through his loss, just as much as their mother was. Ena said to herself in thought, 'I may not be his birth mother, but I will be the next best thing for Bambi.' \n\nWith that thought in mind, she watched as her new son continued his meal that helped seal the bond between mother and adopted fawn.\n\nA commission done by the talented Backlash91did for me. This is an alternate reality piece where it was Ena, Faline's mother, who had found Bambi after his mother's passing and took him in as her son. I have nothing against the canon shipping of Bambi and Faline, but I like the idea's of \"what ifs\". Plus, Ena doesn't really get any fanart made of her. She needed some recognition. \n\nHope you all like it.\n\nRated mature for the exposure of udders.",
