What will this creature do once a living person steps in its way?", "writing": "It’s around 8pm in the evening on the 31st of October, Halloween, it’s already dark and thousands of people, young and old, in costumes are hurrying along the streets, trying to get as much candy as possible.\n\nThere is a dense forest just outside the city walls, there is a part of the forest that no one dares to venture, it just has that “stay the fuck out” feel, it is as if something evil resides there, the forest seems much darker than the rest of the forest, even the trees which have seemed to grow crooked and without leaves.\n\nThis part of the forest is known throughout the city, legends surround this part of the forest, legends about witch craft, Satan worshiping, there supposedly is a cemetery and an abandoned log cabin.\n\nSince everyone is distracted and focused on the trick-o-treating and simply enjoying themselves, no one is aware that something seems to awaken, something that has never walked the planet’s surface as a living being. On a clearing, located in the forbidden-part of the forest, the air becomes thick, as black smoke suddenly appears out of thin air, slowly growing in size, taking on the shape of a human shadow. Two small red glowing eyes appear, which is the only thing on the smoke beings face.\n\n“Finally, after hundreds of years chained up like an animal, I am finally free,” the being says, its voice deep, “let’s see what fun we can do”.\n\nThe figure falls in on itself as it turns completely into smoke and starts to silently float towards the lights of the city.\n\nMarbas, which is the name of said smoke being, soon finds itself in a dark alleyway, watching in confusion at the people in costumes, ‘what is going on, why are all these weak mortals dressed up,’ it asks itself, ‘I need to know’. The demon, who is a shape shifter, quickly morphs into a human adult wearing a suit, he then steps out onto the street.\n\nA young gray wolf, maybe 10 years old, is currently skipping along the sidewalk, swinging his bag of candy, happy with his loot. The young wolf, who is named Lin, is wearing a pirate costume, as he turns the corner he bumps into a strange man wearing a suit, “oh… sorry, sir,” he says, “I didn’t see you”.\n\nThe man smiles down at the young wolf, “don’t worry, young one,” he says, “maybe you are able to help me, you see, I just arrived in the city and I am a little overwhelmed and confused about what is going on. Why are you and all the other people dressed up like that?”\n\nLin tilts his head, “it’s halloween, the coolest day of the whole year,” he says.\n\n“Sorry, where I am from, we don’t have this kind of thing,” the man says, “what is the purpose of this?”\n\n“Well, on halloween you dress up and go from door to door,” Lin explains, “when someone opens the door, you say “trick-o-treat”, either the person gives you candy or if they refuse you can pull a prank on them”.\n\n“I see, sounds like a lot of fun,” the man says, smiling.\n\nLin nods, wagging his tail, “it is! I got sooooo much candy, hehe, and the night is still young,” he says.\n\nThe man smiles, “I’d like to try this Halloween thing myself,” he says, “do you think you could help me?”\n\n“Sure, first you need a cool costume,” Lin says.\n\nThe man nods, “why don’t you come with me and make me a nice and cool costume,” he says, “my name is Marbas by the way”.\n\n“My name is Lin,” Lin says, he then tilts his head, “but… I can’t make you a costume, Marbas. It would take ages and I am not talented enough”.\n\n“Nonsense, Lin,” Marbas says, lying a hand on the young wolf’s shoulder, leading him into the dark alleyway, “you’ll make the coolest costume in the whole city”.\n\nLin looks up at the strange man, “you think,” he asks.\n\n“Of course,” the man says, grinning, “after all… a owner knows best, right?”\n\nLin tilts his head, “ow-owner,” he asks.\n\nMarbas nods, “why of course,” he says, his magic already flowing into the young wolf, “I bought you earlier from a costume store, I chose you because you were the coolest looking costume in the whole store!”\n\nThis is when Lin finally realizes that he is in big trouble, but it’s already to late, his mind feels so mushed that he is unsure what to do, he feels super confused. Lin looks down at himself, “b-but… I’m no costume,” he says, “I… I can walk and talk… and I have a name… costumes… they have no name… and they can’t talk… nor move on their own… unless… unless someone is wearing it”.\n\nMarbas chuckles, “you are only moving because the mannequin is still inside of you,” the demon in disguise says, “a wooden mannequin to be precise, can’t you feel it inside of you? How it’s holding all your costume parts together?”\n\nThe more Marbas talks, the more confused Lin feels, beginning to doubt what he is, was he a living being or just some costume? The young wolf looks up at the man, confusion in his eyes.\n\nMarbas smiles, “don’t you worry, little costume,” he says, “I’ll have you all fixed up and proper in just a minute. So, you just relax and let me do the hard work”.\n\nLin nods, yeah… he didn’t need to worry about anything… Marbas… his owner… he’ll make him proper… he’ll make him right. The young wolf smiles up at the man, feeling his body, his mind, his whole being relax, he did trust his owner, his owner will take good care of him.\n\nMarbas grins as he senses the wolf’s mind slowing and its body going still and rigid, a seam appears around the wolf’s neck and as Marbas strokes along the young wolf’s back his grin widens as he feels an opening appear.\n\n“That’s a good little costume,” Marbas whispers, “relax, no more silly thoughts, you can leave the thinking to me”.\n\nLin just stands there, a big smile on his face, as his fur takes on a more fake-fur appearance, his yellow eyes sinking back into his skull until only two empty holes remain, a small clicking noise is heard as his jaw joints become metal hinges, allowing the muzzle to move with each word ITS wearer says while wearing the costume.\n\nWith a loud thumb, the bag with candy falls from the wolf’s paw, with all the candy falling out, Marbas grins, removing his hand. The “man” then grabs Lin’s snout and twists it lightly, with a pop the wolf’s head suddenly detaches itself from the wolf’s body and under the head there is nothing but a faceless “head” of a wooden mannequin, “see, told you you’d make the coolest costume,” Marbas cackles, “now, I think its time to try IT on, looks a little tight though, but the fabric looks stretchy enough”.\n\nMarbas sets the head on the ground, he then strips the pirate costume from what once had been a 10-year-old wolf named Lin, before stripping himself. The now naked man grins as he grabs the “costume” freeing it from the mannequin. Marbas then slips his right foot and leg into the right leg of the wolf costume, letting out a moan at the feeling of the fabric rubbing against his skin, his leg shrinking to the right size.
