It was much colder down here and very little light except for the occasional flicker of illumination coming from a nearby torch. But she had to know for sure, she had to know if she was still here. \n\nEntering into the next hallway, Alyssa stepped into the slave chambers. Looking around all the nearby cells appeared empty. It appeared the rumors were true. Mistress Droch had finally convince her father to get rid of all his slaves. “Why do you need to keep a bunch of hapless slaves around, when you got plenty of spouses and daughters to do the work around here?” She could hear Droch asking her father. Alyssa rushed further down the hallway, maybe, just maybe he kept a few? Maybe he kept her?\n\nAlyssa sprinted past empty cell, by empty cell. She hadn't been down here very much, but even so, she knew exactly where to go. At last she approached the cell at near the end of the chamber. The door was open, the small space was only modestly furnished with small table and a single bed. She hesitantly step into the room. There was no one here. Empty.\n\nHer mother was no longer here.\n\nAlone, Alyssa stood in silence. She didn't know how to feel, she should she be feeling happy? Sad? Out all Sventar's children, Alyssa was born from a slave. Her other sibling's mothers were ether born of noble stock or had special skills that earn them a place at her father's side. Alyssa's mom however was nether of these, a just common canine slave that lord Sventar seemed to had fancy. Her sister Nai'lati would often tease Alyssa about her mom, while her other sisters would try their best not to bring the subject up. The mothers seem to split between feeling ether disdain or pity on the half breed's nature. Alyssa own thoughts were complicated on the subject of her mother. On one hand she felt ashamed and embarrassed from be born from such low and unworthy stock. Still, she however she couldn't help but feel some affection to woman that had birthed her. While, Alyssa's mother was never aloud to directly talk to her, she see from her adoring glances that she had loved her. Alyssa wonder silently if her mother was secretly proud of her or not. She would never know for sure now. \n\nSmall tears slowly fell to floor.\n\nHand quietly rested on her shoulder. Alyssa looked up, standing beside her now was the great black dragon Lord Sventar. \n\n“Do you miss her?” Her father asked. She meekly nodded in response. For few moment longer Alyssa stared into the room that once belong to her mother. Her father standing next to her, gently squeezing her shoulder.\n\n“I miss her, as well.” Sventar said breaking the silence.\n\n“You do?” Alyssa managed to crack a small squeak. \n\n“Yes, she was my favorite you know.” Sventar lowered himself to one knee so be closer to his daughter's eye level. Letting out a small chuckle, he continued. “You mustn't tell the others this, but the others were starting to get jealous how much attention I was giving her. To keep the peace and civility of the household I had to sadly get rid of her.”\n\nThe revelation surprised Alyssa. She turn around hugged her father as tightly as she could. Somehow this information made her happy and proud. Her mom was special after all, she was special.\n\n“Father?” Alyssa looked up from her father chest, arms still clinging around him. “What was it, about her, that you liked?”\n\nLord Sventar, paused for moment while gently patted his daughter's head. “It's hard to put into words, my little one.” he smiled down at her. “But I think her lack of station was a blessing of sorts, with her I didn't have to be concerned with station and I was free not to hold back.”\n\nWas this true? Alyssa thought to herself, was her mother really that important to Lord Sventar? “Does that mean you hold back with me?”\n\n“Of course I do my sweet child” Sventar purred. “You are my precious daughter after all.”\n\nAlyssa blushed. Biting her lip, she thought to herself, father must be able to properly vent himself. Stepping back, Alyssa pushed herself away from her away from her father. Gathering all the courage she could gather.\n\n“I'll do it!”\n\n“Do what?” Sventar quiescently looked at her.\n\n“I'll take mother's place!” Alyssa excitedly proclaimed. “You don't have to hold back with me any more!!”\n\n“Are you sure that's what you want” Her father asked.\n\n“Yes!
