I think Cassie getting a mod that enables her to Tail Spike to impale and destroy slow moving machine enemies makes sense. And if I had my way it'd probably have an unnecessarily flashy and dramatic windup twirl like the ground pound in Yoshi's Island. And probably inherit the long recovery time Smash's Yoshi/Bowser Bomb too.\n\nMy initial thought when drawing this was to give it a spike\nBut I realized if the pointy bits are also pointy on the butt side, that's going to be an awful landing even if the spike successfully punctures and destroys a relatively soft landing target.\n\nSo then my thought was to try to put a cap on it for landing on. But that made it look strange.\n\nThen I tried to add an electric aura. Because I think perhaps instead of having more gear to help emphasize the point, doubling-down on the idea that Cassie habitually keeps pushing her natural physical durability to its limits can really help highlight the character's quirks and flaws. \n\nAnd one of the ways to make the player question how strong her body is \nis to have her use her plain old unarmored tail to impale a mech / robot / cyborg / balloon / demon / hostile beast / holographic projection.\n\nAs far as gameplay is concerned, most of Cassie's speedy movement is handled best with skilled use of her grapple. Unlike Alpha's diagonal dive kick, Cassie's drop should probably go _straight_ down and keep identical behavior underwater. The consequence of this is that cases where she needs to do a U shaped grapple swing around a vertical barrier, she can be gaurenteed to get the speed to come up the other side pretty fast... if the player doesn't miss. This also means that the same sort of technique behind her jumping ground-grapples would work just as well on ceilings. As if her ceiling speed weren't already kinda busted good.\n\nI can try to justify this as much as I want, I'm really just trying to justify Cassie getting Yoshi's Ground Pound from Yoshi's Island by another name.
