Dark clouds were beginning to move in, threatening to ruin a nice day at the beach. Jason was walking along the coast looking for his younger brother when the sky began rumbling. Most swimmers were already making their way towards the shore, getting out before the storm arrives. Jason finally spotted the grey and white kitten near the edge of the water, yet still in it for some reason. "Joseph, come on. Time to go." "Umm..." he sank further into the water, "You got a towel, right?" "Yeah, right here in the bag. Now hurry up and get out, we gotta leave." Winds were picking up and blowing sand around all over the place. Jason was eager to get out of there. "Hold it open for me." "What? Why?" "Just do it." Jason wasn't sure what his brother was up to, but before he could put much thought into it, a bolt of lightning streaked across the sky. Figuring that now wasn't the best time to argue, he put down the bag and pulled out a towel. With it unfolded and held open towards him, he once again urged Joseph: "Okay, now come on!" The young kitten hesitated, but finally sprang up out of the water. With his hands clasped over his exposed manhood, he dashed into his older brother's arms and wrapped himself up in the towel. "Dude!" Jason exclaimed, "What happened to your shorts!?" "I lost them." Joseph nonchalantly replied. "What!? How? When?" "I don't know, about an hour ago I guess?" "So you've just been swimming around naked this whole time?" "Well it's not like anyone could tell. And people would see if I got out, so what was I supposed to do?" Jason couldn't believe how little his brother was bothered. Did he even bother looking for his shorts? "Ugh, whatever. Let's just get back to the hotel. You can put some clothes on when we get there." It wasn't a very long walk, only about three blocks. Their parents usually rented from hotels that were close to the coast, but not right on it. Mainly so they wouldn't have to shell out tons of money for ocean-front rooms, but would still be close enough to walk to the beach. In any case, the boys made their way over the sand dunes and walked between two high-rise hotels. They were nicely decorated with a good amount of palm trees, their leaves rustling in the wind as the storm continued its approach. But the breeze was also catching Joseph's towel, causing the ends to flap around and the bottom to ride up. He quickly clutched the side and pushed his other hand down on the front, trying to keep himself covered. "You got it?" Jason asked. "Yeah." "Alright, just don't want you flashing random strangers." Joseph snickered at the idea, then continued to follow his brother past the buildings. The main strip ran parallel to the coastline, littered with shops and hotels on both sides of the road. As usual, tons of cars were going by, so they had to wait at an intersection for their turn to cross. Jason felt some drops hit his head, and sure enough a light drizzle had begun. With more rumbling in the air, it was clear that the storm was getting close. A couple of styrofoam cups bounced along the sidewalk as the wind continued, prompting Joseph to hold onto to his towel to avoid exposing himself. It was starting to feel like the traffic was never going to stop long enough for them to get across. The skies flashed once again as lightning struck off in the distance. It was a momentary distraction for the boys, but also a reminder of why they needed to hurry. The cars came to a stop as the WALK sign finally lit up. Jason hurried across the street while his younger brother lagged behind. It was tough to run with a towel around his waist, especially when he had to make sure nobody was seeing anything underneath. As he was making his way across the road, the leaves in nearby trees started rustling even faster. The wind was picking up and and making his towel flutter around even more than before. He stopped in the crosswalk and focused on holding it down, trying his best to stay covered. A thundering boom roared all around him, accompanied by a strong gust that threatened to push him over. He instinctively put out an arm to maintain his balance, and in the process felt the towel get ripped from his waist. Panic filled his mind as he looked down at his own nudity, and then behind him at the towel flying through the air down the road. He turned back around and faced the car waiting at the stop light. The whole family inside had their hands over their mouths as they stared at the naked boy in front of them. Meanwhile, Jason stood at the other end of the crosswalk, shocked as he looked back at his brother. Joseph was like a deer in headlights... or rather a naked kitten in headlights, as it were. He was completely frozen in place and couldn't even think clearly enough to cover himself up. But heavy rain soon brought both of them back to their senses as the bottom fell out of the storm. "JOSEPH!" his older brother yelled from the sidewalk, "JUST RUN! GO BACK TO THE HOTEL!" Joseph snapped out of it and looked around, then tried to cover his front and rear with his hands as he started sprinting back to the hotel. Jason took off running after him; he'd need the key to get in, otherwise he'd still be stuck outside buck naked. In any case, Joseph would have to go streaking for two more blocks to get to their hotel, but at least there weren't as many people once he got away from the strip.
