"description": "Hello, all! This one is one I’ve been very eager to share with you all. I’ve gotten my first ever art commission, paid for all on my own money, courtesy of Teastuff! He’s been a very polite and fun artist to communicate with throughout this process, and I can’t thank him enough for this! And now, I’ve got a full-reference for Devin, my Charmeleon OC!\n\nNow, admittedly, I received this completed ref months ago. I've released this on FurAffinity, and now I'm doing so here. I also made writing for it to give an introduction to Devin, and what he’d be like as a character in the Plaisir setting.\n\nI’ll be giving that here and now, and it’ll be done speaking from his perspective. And then, you’ll hear from some of my other characters how they feel about him. So without further ado…\n\n*************************************************************************************************************\n\n“Oh, who’s there?\n\nAh, you’re new. I haven’t met a customer like you in Plaisir before, and I hear you’re hiring me.\n\nWhat do you want to do first, then? Grab a bite? Have a cuddle? Or do you just want me to let out my pecs right now?\n\nOh, you just want to talk? Okay. Well, what’s your name?”\n\n“Good name. What’s on your mind?\n\nYou just want to hear me talk? You sure? Sounds a little one-sided. What do you want to hear about?”\n\n“Me, huh? Sounds like you want to interview me. Hmm. How much you want to hear?”\n\n“Up to me, eh? Alright, then. Where do I start?”\n\n“My name is Devin. I’m 22 years old, and I’m a Charmeleon, a Fire-Type. But as much as I’m good with spitting fire…\n\n*Flexes arms and pecs* I’m a lot more used to working my muscles.\n\nI love to eat meat. Can’t get enough of it. And I know my way around a barbecue. Being a Fire-Type, I really love going for hot and spicy meals. The easiest way to get me down for a talk is to bring out a big, juicy double cheeseburger, with a good protein shake to go along with it.”\n\n“I really love to hug and cuddle, and being a bodybuilder type means I can give some pretty sweet cuddles. I try to be as warm as possible. Working a sweat when I exercise, working darker colors for more heat, and my spice-loving palate. So, if you ever need a little heat, you can just ask me.”\n\n“Speaking of which, I got something a little unusual on me. I got this…well, you can call it a “heat aura”. I can absorb heat from a surface, and then give that heat on to something else. A little something passed on to me from my parents. As for how they got it? Well…that’s kind of a long story. So, what do you think so far?”\n\n“Oh? You want to know who I’m into? Heh heh. To answer that question, I’m bi. I’ll go for guys or ladies. More often guys. Helps that I’m the flirty type too. I like being on top in bed, and I love making a good night last a long time. And something that [i]really[/i] gets me going is breeding sexy Mienshao. Next question.”\n\n“Oh. You want to know where I came from? Hmm. This could take a while.\n\nMy story started far from here, in New York. Muscle and brawn’s been a part of my life from the start. Thanks to my parents and their Trainer, I’ve been lifting weights since I was a foot-tall Charmander. Heh heh.\n\nUnfortunately, that’d be the [i]happiest[/i] part of my childhood. As a kid I found an idol: a bodybuilding Charizard named the “Scarlet Atlas”. When I was 10, I fell in with a fan club for him. Found a few friends there, and I trained with them, wanting to be just like my idol. Got to be a bit of a brat, too.\n\nWhen I was 12, I first evolved, becoming the Charmeleon I am now. I was excited at first, but that didn’t last. See, I went to this rally for the “Atlas”, and while it was going, a super big bombshell dropped: my “hero” got thrown in the slammer. Turns out, the bastard got his muscles through drugs. They made his head bigger too - bigger and bigger, until it consumed him.\n\nHearing that news in my ears, the world just…stopped. I felt like an idiot - like a jerk, ‘cause that’s what I was heading. No, where I was. And that was just for [i]me.[/i] Everyone else…let’s just say, [i]no one[/i] took the reveal well. The rally turned into a riot, and then, one of the “Atlas”’ fans, someone who really looked up to him, popped out of nowhere in a car. He crashed, and his ride exploded…10 inches away from where I was standing.\n\nI ended up in the hospital. I spent months in recovery, listening to how my “hero” was nothing but a thug. All the friends I’d made in his fan club? They all had to move away, to get away from all the heat on the stupid club. And so I was alone. Broken bones, broken muscles…broken heart.\n\nFrom then on, I promised myself I’d never worship anyone ever again. As for the celebrity types? The so-called “charming” and “charismatic” ones? To be honest, I can’t help but scowl every time I see them now. Never know when a dude on the silver screen or a magazine could be just another scumbag in fancy clothes. I swore I’d never let myself be trapped by anyone like that again. To never trap myself for someone “popular”.\n\nAnd then, after I got out of the hospital, I made another promise to myself: I would be strong. Very strong. [i]Very,[/i] [i][b]VERY[/b][/i] strong. To get as big as I can dream up. So, I got to working out again. Every single day. In rain, or shine. In heat, or cold. Of course, I wasn’t able to make it every single day, which I’m not happy about, but I stuck to it. For 10 years now. As of right now, I can lift 600 pounds when I’m giving it my best.\n\nWhen I turned 17, I decided I’d use my muscles to make myself a little money, as a model. At 18, I finally decided I’d head out on the open road. For the past 4 years, I’ve been moving west - modeling and pumping iron the whole way. Now, I’ve decided to come to Cafe Plaisir. What I want is to find new friends, friends who can help push me to be the best I can be.”\n\n“That…pretty much sums up my story. What do you think?”\n\n“Okay. Any more questions?”\n\n“No? Hmm. You know, about that friend I mentioned? When he does an interview like this, he’d go get a few more opinions on who he’s talking to. I got a few really good friends. You want to talk to ‘em, maybe?”\n\n[b]Accel:[/b] “About Devin? Well, he’s certainly more than a little confident. Smug, too. The guy really likes to flaunt his muscles, and he’s got plenty of energy on him. I…kind of got to see how much firsthand once. Kind of like me. On the face of it, a combination like that would put me off. But, he’s also got this honesty about him. He’s got a big head, but he’s also a real friend. He knows when to get serious too. We both love to work out, we both love a spicy diet, and we’re both Fire-Types. Getting along with him has been pretty smooth, and recently, we’ve been exchanging training with each other. I help him with cardio, and he helps me with pumping iron. I like him.”\n\n[b]Leif:[/b] “Devin? He’s been a very good friend to me. He knows what it means to be strong, and he’s adamant on holding on to that strength - nurturing it, as much as he can. He’s not the brightest bulb out there, but he’s no idiot, not by any means. He’s arrogant, but he certainly means to back up that arrogance, which I respect. As casual as he is, he’s quite responsible. He likes to help others, and he always loves to rest his limits. And, I feel that he…has been through some rather harsh times. But, it seems he’s chosen to learn from them. And I can tell he’s learned a whole lot. To me, Devin isn’t just a friend. He also…gives me hope.”\n\n[b]Rick:[/b] “Devin. Or as I often call him, the second most prominent smug fuck in my life. He treats the gym like a second home, constantly plows asses, and his modeling job means he spends half the time looking at himself. He gets [i]paid[/i] to look at himself. That said, while he’s got an ego, it’s not like he’s a narcissist or anything like that. He’s not afraid of losing, and he knows how to work for what he wants. Honestly, the kind of confidence he’s got…I’m hoping I can get some of that. You know, sometimes I find myself wondering if maybe he would enjoy the whole life I had [i]before[/i] settling back into the States. Out on the road, always near screaming fans, flying from country to country. He doesn’t see himself as living “on the edge”. But if you ask me, the guy’s built for adventure. Kind of like another beefy lizard I know…”\n\n[b]Ignacio:[/b] “Devin? Heh heh. He and I are like birds of a feather. We share a love for quite a few things: exercise, cheeseburgers…breeding sweet and thick men…hanging out with him comes rather easily. Getting sweaty with him over weights, and sharing plenty of good words while we do. Despite his physique, I’d call him a gentle kind of person. He always tries to be polite, as loud as he can be, and tries to be careful when he uses his strength on a person. I’ve asked him once if he has an interest in martial arts. He says he’s “starting to lean towards that”. While he admits he didn’t have such an interest at first, he told me that his new job in Plaisir has allowed him to meet many strong men. The kind who’d fight for each other. So, he feels he ought to amp things up a little. Also, he mentioned about a certain Mienshao inspiring him to do so. Someone who gets Devin to look at him…the same way we both look at Leif…heh heh…”\n\n*************************************************************************************************************\n\nAnd all done! Getting sweaty with him over weights, and sharing plenty of good words while we do. Despite his physique, I’d call him a gentle kind of person. He always tries to be polite, as loud as he can be, and tries to be careful when he uses his strength on a person. I’ve asked him once if he has an interest in martial arts. He says he’s “starting to lean towards that”. While he admits he didn’t have such an interest at first, he told me that his new job in Plaisir has allowed him to meet many strong men. The kind who’d fight for each other. So, he feels he ought to amp things up a little. Also, he mentioned about a certain Mienshao inspiring him to do so. Someone who gets Devin to look at him…the same way we both look at Leif…heh heh…”
