Ch.1 - Cream's New Daddy Vanilla’ s a woman who gets things done. Whether it's bills, food, dinner, she always had a way of making sure her beloved daughter got the best in the world. Sometimes, that required certain… Sacrifices. Sacrifices that included serving her way through many different jobs in order to get the best payments possible. Vanilla didn’t think much of it at first. Any man was willing to pay her lots of money and with a baby girl at home, it was all worth it. Even during the more questionable times. Maybe during a time when she had to serve several men at once, blindfolded and was sure at least one or two of them were far younger than they implied. Vanilla didn’t mind nor care. It felt good. It paid good and it was for Cream’s sake. At least that’s how it was before she decided to leave that life behind. Gemerl helped trmendeously with the house and home wrok, which helped Vanilla to become a proper assistant at the Chaotix’s office, helping them with jobs for their business. There, Vanilla found herself in service of Vector, Espio and Charmy Bee. Every day they worked it was always sure to be one filled with some form of excitement. She loved hearing the boys talk, bringing her into the conversation for her thoughts and learning more about their jobs. Coming home to help her robotic family to help her cook and settle in for the day and night with her dear family. Day in and day out, it was something she loved almost as much as she did Cream. Eventually her affections ended up focusing on something she hadn’t felt in such a long time. A crush. A genuine, maind’s crush on a man that made her heart melt. Vector the Crocodile. The big strong hunk actied shy and coy around her at first, something Vanilla hadn’t experienced in such a long time. Instead of some man just walking up to her in the dead of night under her guise, Vector actied so much more… Innocent. Her heart felt like it was going to fly out of her chest whenever they talked. They laughed, enjoyed each other’s company and it was only a matter of time before things became more heated between them. But… “Vector… I need to be honest with you.” As the day began to wind down, the two adults found themselves alone. Charmy and Espio left early on the chameleon’s word. He could sense that the two of them needed some time together and Charmy had been pestering him about this new food place to try out. “Sure, what's up?” The chipper croc placed a stack of potential jobs for the coming week. Vanilla walks up to the tall croc, eyes spakling as she readies herself. If she really wants to be with him, to be honest with him about herself and expect his love in return, Vanilla knows she has to tell him about her past. “Well… I know you’re aware of my daughter, Cream.” “Of course! Wonderful little lady that you raised!” He seemed unbothered by the topic, a still present smile on his face as he sits behind his desk. Vanilla joins him, sitting across at the provided chair for clients. “But… I had to do a lot of things… A lot of-” “Vanilla.” She turns her head, not realizing that she had forced herself to not even look him in the eye. She felt a twinge of guilt building inside her as she watched him stand up and move closer to her. Fear crept up her throat as she imagined every answer he could give. The threats of past, the idea he’s disgusted with her, the notion of- She feels a large hand land on top of her head, rubbing back and forth. Through teary eyes, Vanilla looked to see the large crocodile meeting her eyeline. “You’ve been nothing short of an amazing woman since the day I met you. Your smile, your courage, your beauty. It caught my heart hook line and sinker. If you think your past is going to stop any of that, you’re dead wrong. The past doesn’t matter. Only the kind of future I… Like to build with you.” Vanilla was sure she felt her heart skip a beat. It never crossed her mind that there’s a chance that Vector was likely well aware of her personal history. He’s not just brawns afterall. The two share an intimate moment of silence as vanilla gathers herself. After a few deep breaths and wiping away her tears, she gathers her courage to ask a rather bold question. “You know… I couldn’t imagine a more fitting father than you. You’re so big, and strong…” Vanilla outstretches her hand, touching his underbelly and admiring the impressive muscles underneath. The croc let out a small pleasant trill as Vanilla’s hand glided across his body. “You know what? I think Charmy wouldn’t mind having a couple of little sisters of sorts.” “But Cream’s my only- Oh… Oooh! Oh my… So forward, aren’t we?” While Vanilla and Vector are enjoying their intimate time together, Espio silently listens in, hidden in the darkness of their building. He wasn’t sure how things would play out. But hearing the two love birds, he admonished himself for being so over cautious. The chameleon promises himself that he’ll pay for a future date of the couple as his penance. Not wanting to invade their privacy any more than necessary, he silently left. No sound, no hint that anything was there. Now it was just the new couple alone to get to know each other better. But like any romance, it takes time for things to heat up. But for now… Cream can look forward to saying “Happy’s Father’s Day” soon enough. END
