Tails movements made the gasoline start a reaction that ended in an explosion.\nSonic wakes up not long after, he might be super-fast and super energetic, but he could also sleep through an explosion. When he sees parts of his beloved biplane strewn around the camp he snaps to full alertness.\n\n\"Whaaoohhah!\" He jumps to his feet. \"What did you do!?\" He cries out in dismay before regaining his calm, cool centredness. \"No... No. this doesn't matter.\" He reminds himself. It's the cub who is important, not some hunk of metal. \"The Tornado was already totaled in the crash... This doesn't change anything... It's just a little more work later.\" He signed how a cub could do that? He looked around searching for Tails \nTails was seating in the sand starting to cry. When he saw Sonic reaction he walked to him holding his arm And explained what happened \"hic there was a hic problem in the fuel tank hic the combustible was you used exploded when electricity touched it \" tails was fully crying now \" I tried I really tried but I only was ca-pable to stop the explosion for on-one hour. My arm hurts ple-ase don't hate me\" he finished\nSonic hugs the little guy. He was upset for his plane but that didn’t matter now \"Hey, there there.\" He says as he pats his back. \"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shout. You just surprised me is all. Hey... you understand all this mechanical stuff?\" The hedgehog starts to realize Tails wasn't just playing around with the twisted plane.\n\"I saw the model b100 one Time in a book \" tails explained after he calm down he didn't stopped sobbing his arm and tears were in his eyes but he was more calm he say shyly \"sonic I'm hungry and my arm hurt \" tails feel a little of blood in his arm but he say nothing\n\"Holy...!\" Sonic cuts himself off as he realizes that Tails is injured. \"Tails you're bleeding come here!\" He pulls the cub aside and quickly tends to his arm.\n\nAll his fights with Eggman, and generally leading a pretty active adventurous life means that Sonic has picked up some skills in medicine and first aid. He quickly checks Tails' wound to determine if it is serious, and, finding that it is not, he washes it out with water from his canteen and binds it with care using the first aid kit from the Tornado.\n\nTails say \"oww\" when sonic clear the wound but now he was seeing the bandage with curiosity it was the first time someone took care of his wounds.\n\n\"There...\" He says once he is done. \"Does that feel better Tails?\"\n\n\"Yes Sonic” say tails smiling it was the first time that tails smile in front of sonic\nSonic smiles back. \"Okay, how about we get some breakfast then get on with the day?\" He thinks there's enough left-overs from last night combined with the food he bought for himself yesterday to make a good breakfast for them both, but he'll need to buy more if Tails continues to stick around. He wasn't planning on keeping the kid overnight. He hopes no one is panicking about him.\nThen tails remember something “I was supposed to be there!” he says as he got up he was clearly in a rush “I left him alone “he used his tails to fly and went through the forest.\n\nSonic shoots off in a burst of speed after Tails. He's got enough foresight to grab the food and drink he was planning on serving for breakfast; Tails clearly didn't expect to eat anywhere else earlier, so where ever he's going he will still be hungry.\n\nHe went to the biggest tree in the forest and in a hole were two things a blanket and a teddy bear \"sorry I'm so sorry\" tails apologized again and again. He knew that this things were a present from his mother and father meaning someone had love him he had been happy some time ago but this was a betray in his mind so now he was fully crying and apologizing\n\nHe comes upon Tails, in a hole, crying and saying sorry over and over. He approaches carefully. \"Is this where you live, Tails?\" He asks. \"Is there anyone else here?\"\nTails immediately hugged Sonic I betrayed them sonic \" he said not really noticing how he call sonic in true he knew that sonic was kind strong fast and brave so little by little he accepted the true \" i wasn't here in time to sleep with them\" in sonic position he could see the blanket and the teddy bear \" now they hate me they must hate me \" tails say starting to cry in sonic chest wetting it\n\"Hey, hey...\" Sonic cuddles the sobbing little fox, he was a little taken back by the wetting but he stayed there, he started to comfort him again. He rubs his back and head fur gently. \"I don't think they hate you.\" He says, seeing this is important to 'Tails'. \"Why don't you check first? See if they still cuddle you back?\" He suggests, this is a lot harder than fighting robots.\n\"Okay\" say tails still crying he went over to the teddy and to the sheet and slowly put the sheet over him and hugged the bear \"you were right they don't hate me sniff \" tails was sniffing now and he was calm\nSonic enters the hole too. He puts his arms around the whole bundle, boy and toy and blanket. \"See? I told you it was cool, little buddy. Now do you want breakfast?\"\nSonic is deeply concerned by what he sees, but there's no point getting 'Tails' worked up about it yet.\n\"Okay sonic \" tails say he had fully accepted that the stranger was sonic nobody was that kind with him\n\nWhen they got out tails left inside the blanket and the teddy bear his eyes were red and he wasn't talking instead he took seat on a rock. In this part of the forest he felt safe Oscar never came this far before\n\"Okay... well I noticed you were pretty good with the Tornado earlier... but you didn't seem to know everything you needed to make it work?\" Sonic comes up with an excuse to keep Tails around a little longer. \"How would you like a trip to the library and maybe we can find some books about mechanics that'd let you work on it safely?\" Sonic bribes the cub with the promise of engineering.\nBut this didn't go well at the thought of going to the city Tails wrapped his tails around him like some sort of protection \"no! They are going to hurt me” he said immediately “I don't wanna go!!\" After yesterday event's he didn't want to get back to the city but let’s be fair who would want? \"Oscar always takes what I like he is going to take you to!!!\"\n\"Calm down Tails.\" Sonic says soothingly as he hugs his little friend. \"No one's going to hurt you while you're with me, and I promise no one's going to take me away from you okay?\" He strokes the cub's hair gently.\n“Promise me then” Tails responded “Promise me that you are not going to leave me like everyone else” he say looking at him directly at his eyes\nSonic was even more worried by his words but that didn’t distract him \"Cross my heart and hope to die.\" Sonic recites the old playground promise. \"I won't let anyone take me away from you okay? We're going to go fast!\" He promises as he revs up. He dashes straight for city hall and the library attached to it. He has an alternative motive in going to the main library. He wants to learn more about Tails.\nTails is surprised by this actions and suddenly he was screaming \"weeee\" by the joy but his excitement was replaced by fear as they got closer to the city In a moment tails was glued to sonic body\nSonic doesn't mind, in fact he prefers that the kid hold on tight. It means he doesn't have to hold back the speed. Luckily for him tails never grabbed his neck that could have ended in a serious accident. He dashes up two flights of stairs and to the library's front desk.\n\nFirst things first. If Tails is going to borrow books then Sonic's going to need a library card. The blue hedgehog steels himself for a very boring few hours. It's almost torture to him, but if it helps his new little buddy he's willing to endure it.\nBut luckily for sonic or the place was empty in fact tails didn't saw anybody while they were going here.\n\nThis made tails happier he didn’t need to worry about bullies so he leaved sonic shoulders and started to explore the place\nSonic escorts Tails around the library visiting most sections but especially they linger around the children's section and the sections for electronics, mechanics and math. Sonic was right, this kid has a fascination with engineering that's uncanny. Though it's more impressive that a 4 year old can read in the first place. He also smirked at Tails he was reading a book that covered hid whole body so his legs ears and tails were the only thing that one could see\n\n\"Hey Tails, you can take out any 5 books you want, but no more okay?\" Sonic explains to the cub how the library works. \"And we need to bring them back in 2 weeks, we're for real borrowing these books.\"\n\"Okay Sonic” tails say grabbing 2 kids’ books about fairy tales and then he grabbed mechanical books about the tornado and other plane he put them in his \n\nHe also didn't wanted to give them back after the time sonic say because he used to have a book about fairy tales but Oscar steal the book and he give it to the library tails tried to explain but he wasn't hear so he found fair to keep the books\n\n\n\"Do you want to read some other books while we're here Tails?\" Sonic says, wanting to get the little cub engrossed in something before he zips down to the city hall to demand some answers. \"It's completely safe here... libraries are kind dull if you're not looking for something so people avoid them.\" A little of Sonic's impatient bias shows through.\n\"Sure sonic \" tails happily say he had never been so peaceful so he could read he seat on the floor and started to read\n\nWhen sonic leaved tails hide fairy tales book in his tails and starting to read like nothing happened leaving 4 in front of him like sonic say\n\nAnd what sonic was about to find is emptiness\nSonic whizzes down the stairs to the appropriate desk, or at least one he hopes is close enough.\nThe blue hero has no patience at the best of times, and he was only able to endure the library to make Tails happy. Here he doesn't have to hold it in.\n\nHe hits the bell on the desk. It dings. Sonic waits. He hits it again. Ding. Ding. Ding. \"Come on, Come on.\" He grouses.\n\nFinally a clerk shows up.\n\n\"What do you know about a two-tailed orphan fox boy who lives in this city? And make it snappy, I don't have all day.\"\nThere was something weird about the clerk like he was in some trance \"miles prower, orphan from mother and father sex: male. Age: four. Times in jail: two\"\n\nTails was interested in his book when he saw something even more interesting a robot who looked like a lady bird he slowly approach\n\"What do you mean times in jail two?\" Sonic was surprised by that so he decided to ask Tails later.\n\"Caught him stealing two times\" he said in the same voice\n He also notices the clerk's weird behavior at once, but he's giving him answers so he keeps asking. Did someone implant a post-hypnotic suggestion in him that triggers whenever someone asks about Tails? Sonic doesn't want to say it's Eggman. It's nefarious enough to be the kind of thing Eggman would do, but it might be someone else. \"He's just four years old! Who's supposed to be looking after him? Where are his guardians?\" Sonic almost shouted\n\n\"The orphanage burned down cause lightning storm all orphans in new houses except one not need to rebuild\".\n\nTails got close enough to saw it totally fascinated jump at it and tried to disarm it with his screw driver\n\"Except one? Miles? How can you ignore just one child's suffering so easily?\" Sonic almost shouts in the clerks' utterly impassive face. How strong is this mind control? He doesn't seem to care at all.\nBut the clerk say \"any questions\" \n\nTails jumped to the robot but when he got above the robot tails could only cry for help as the robot started to move like crazy \"SONIC HELP!!!!!\"\nSonic's head whips around at the cry. He's off and running. \"Hold on Tails! I'm coming!\" He runs in the direction of the scream.\nTails was holding with all his force to the robot demonstrating he wasn't weak the robot hit walls trying to get rid of him but he didn't let him go he didn't scream now he was concentrated to hold for his life\nSonic executes a perfect spin dash splitting the top of the ladybird bot open and snatching Tails out from under it before it can fall and crush him. \"What was that you found little buddy?\" He asks as he looks at the smoldering wreckage of the Badnik.\nI don't know sonic \" tails said now more excited than scared after this happened \"but I wanna do it again \" he moved to the mess and started to try to repair the badnick he didn't notice a little bird leaving the place\nSonic grabs a fire extinguisher from the wall and hands it to Tails. \"Use this little buddy.\" He says. \"We don't want a repeat of this morning... this place would go up like a bonfire.\"\n\nSonic stops to think. Something rotten is going on here---rotten like an egg. It looks like Eggman is moving in on this city, but what does that have to do with Tails? Or does it have anything to do with him? Maybe the clerks were brainwashed by someone else? He'll have to do something to free them too.\n\nSonic remembers a trick his friend Porker Lewis pulled off last time they went up against Eggman. \"Hey Tails, do you think you can pull the radio from that Badnik? If it's still in one piece we can use it to find out where it was getting its orders from.\"\nTails grabbed the fire extinguisher and started to work after a few seconds the radio was out \"here you have sonic \"Say tails, he actually had been helpful to sonic the hedgehog\n\nThe only information that they could get was that Eggman was in the hills of the zone \" we can help them \" say tail happy in his imagination he could see himself receiving gifts and thanks from everyone here\nSonic weighs up his options. He hates it when several missions overlap. Even with his super speed he can only be in one place at a time. Having to choose between two Mobians is his worst nightmare, at least, after drowning and spiders.\n\nStill, Miles' problems he can sort out later, he just needs to keep the kid safe. He can do that: He's Sonic the Hedgehog!\n\n\"Okay then, we can go destroy these badniks!\" Sonic says giving Tails a thumbs up. \"But I need you to stick close to me and do what I say. First things first. If Tails is going to borrow books then Sonic's going to need a library card. The blue hedgehog steels himself for a very boring few hours. It's almost torture to him, but if it helps his new little buddy he's willing to endure it.
But luckily for sonic or the place was empty in fact tails didn't saw anybody while they were going here.
This made tails happier he didn’t need to worry about bullies so he leaved sonic shoulders and started to explore the place
Sonic escorts Tails around the library visiting most sections but especially they linger around the children's section and the sections for electronics, mechanics and math. Sonic was right, this kid has a fascination with engineering that's uncanny. Though it's more impressive that a 4 year old can read in the first place. He also smirked at Tails he was reading a book that covered hid whole body so his legs ears and tails were the only thing that one could see
"Hey Tails, you can take out any 5 books you want, but no more okay?" Sonic explains to the cub how the library works. "And we need to bring them back in 2 weeks, we're for real borrowing these books."

"Do you want to read some other books while we're here Tails?" Sonic says, wanting to get the little cub engrossed in something before he zips down to the city hall to demand some answers. "It's completely safe here... libraries are kind dull if you're not looking for something so people avoid them." A little of Sonic's impatient bias shows through.

Sonic whizzes down the stairs to the appropriate desk, or at least one he hopes is close enough.
The blue hero has no patience at the best of times, and he was only able to endure the library to make Tails happy. Here he doesn't have to hold it in.
He hits the bell on the desk. It dings. Sonic waits. He hits it again. Ding. Ding. Ding. "Come on, Come on." He grouses.
Finally a clerk shows up.
"What do you know about a two-tailed orphan fox boy who lives in this city? And make it snappy, I don't have all day."
There was something weird about the clerk like he was in some trance "miles prower, orphan from mother and father sex: male. Age: four. Times in jail: two"
Tails was interested in his book when he saw something even more interesting a robot who looked like a lady bird he slowly approach
"What do you mean times in jail two?" Sonic was surprised by that so he decided to ask Tails later.
"Caught him stealing two times" he said in the same voice
He also notices the clerk's weird behavior at once, but he's giving him answers so he keeps asking. Did someone implant a post-hypnotic suggestion in him that triggers whenever someone asks about Tails? Sonic doesn't want to say it's Eggman. It's nefarious enough to be the kind of thing Eggman would do, but it might be someone else. "He's just four years old! Who's supposed to be looking after him? Where are his guardians?" Sonic almost shouted
"The orphanage burned down cause lightning storm all orphans in new houses except one not need to rebuild".
Tails got close enough to saw it totally fascinated jump at it and tried to disarm it with his screw driver
"Except one? Miles? How can you ignore just one child's suffering so easily?" Sonic almost shouts in the clerks' utterly impassive face. How strong is this mind control? He doesn't seem to care at all.
But the clerk say "any questions"
Tails jumped to the robot but when he got above the robot tails could only cry for help as the robot started to move like crazy "SONIC HELP!!!!!"
Sonic's head whips around at the cry. He's off and running. "Hold on Tails! I'm coming!" He runs in the direction of the scream.
Tails was holding with all his force to the robot demonstrating he wasn't weak the robot hit walls trying to get rid of him but he didn't let him go he didn't scream now he was concentrated to hold for his life
Sonic executes a perfect spin dash splitting the top of the ladybird bot open and snatching Tails out from under it before it can fall and crush him. "What was that you found little buddy?" He asks as he looks at the smoldering wreckage of the Badnik.
I don't know sonic " tails said now more excited than scared after this happened "but I wanna do it again " he moved to the mess and started to try to repair the badnick he didn't notice a little bird leaving the place
Sonic grabs a fire extinguisher from the wall and hands it to Tails. "Use this little buddy." He says. "We don't want a repeat of this morning... this place would go up like a bonfire."
Sonic stops to think. Something rotten is going on here---rotten like an egg. It looks like Eggman is moving in on this city, but what does that have to do with Tails? Or does it have anything to do with him? Maybe the clerks were brainwashed by someone else? He'll have to do something to free them too.
Sonic remembers a trick his friend Porker Lewis pulled off last time they went up against Eggman. "Hey Tails, do you think you can pull the radio from that Badnik? If it's still in one piece we can use it to find out where it was getting its orders from."
Tails grabbed the fire extinguisher and started to work after a few seconds the radio was out "here you have sonic "Say tails, he actually had been helpful to sonic the hedgehog
The only information that they could get was that Eggman was in the hills of the zone " we can help them " say tail happy in his imagination he could see himself receiving gifts and thanks from everyone here
Sonic weighs up his options. He hates it when several missions overlap. Even with his super speed he can only be in one place at a time. Having to choose between two Mobians is his worst nightmare, at least, after drowning and spiders.
Still, Miles' problems he can sort out later, he just needs to keep the kid safe. He can do that: He's Sonic the Hedgehog!
"Okay then, we can go destroy these badniks!" Sonic says giving Tails a thumbs up. "But I need you to stick close to me and do what I say. At least until I teach you how to defend yourself."
"Okay Sonic” but tails mind say other things he needed to destroy badniks to gain respect from others that way even Oscar could be his friend!
So they leaved the library and went to the hills
