Likely the latter, as he kept doing when his mother told him to strike out to the wastes on his own as she had before him and so forth. Considering the rope digging into his wrists, he had to say it wasn't the most motherly advice.\nOr he would, if not for the gag shoved into his mouth.\n\nDespite his jaw strength, he couldn't quite tear into the rubber ball. Every little movement was made with care, not wanting to tip over his motorbike that the other raiders had bound him against. They seemed like a friendly bunch the night before. Plenty of booze, a few songs, and a decent lay. But somewhere in the middle of straddling the big lion in the middle, the three raiders jumped him, easily overpowering the thin yeen.\n\nAs for why, he wasn't sure. Rocky didn't have many supplies. Besides the obvious essentials of water, gas, and ammo, he traveled light. His kidnappers soon discovered that his bullets were the wrong caliber for their guns anyway, so they were tossed to a small trailer attached to one of their rides.\n\n\"Think he'll be worth much?\" One of the raiders, a badger with a scar over his right eye, asked. He had a habit of checking his knife within Rocky's viewing distance. The yeen tried to feign fear, figuring that his captor enjoyed being the big strong man despite sharpening his knife wrong. You can't just pick up any rock for that.\n\"Don't know,\" The wolf across from him replied. She was a bulky one, not like his sisters and mother, but enough that Rocky wouldn't have minded being tied up if she'd knocked him out with her thighs first. \"Bertha doesn't give a part of the sale.\"\n\n\"Then why are we giving him to her?\" The badger growled, \"There're other auctioneers.\"\n\n\"Because she's the closest and we're running out of supplies, Scab.\" The wolf sighed and looked up to the night sky. Rocky joined her, taking in the sea of stars outstretched before him.
