He was no warlord, or scholar. He desired not riches or fame, nor did he desire power to rule over others. One day he happened upon an amulet made of gold with a large ruby set into the middle of it. The man was about to pass over the amulet when a soft, enticing voice whispered to him from the bauble.\n \"Sir, do not leave me. I have been imprisoned within this gem for so very long. If you were to aid me, I would gladly aid you. Oh yes, I know what it is that you desire.\"\n The man stopped, bewildered by the voice and stared at the amulet. After a bit of silence he took the amulet and returned home. On the journey back to his homeland, the man conversed with the voice in the amulet. It explained that it was a powerful djinn from the elemental plane of fire, and that a callous wizard wrongfully summoned it to this plane and sealed it within the amulet's ruby. the djinn had been imprisoned for so long that it was left helpless as the wizard eventually grew old and died, and later as the wizard's home had finally succumbed to ruin as the elements and nature reduced it to dust and stone. The djinn told the man that it'd be so grateful for its freedom that it would happily help him in his endeavors.\n Once at the man's home, the djinn ordered the man to construct a golem if he wanted his desire to be made reality. And so the man did so. With cloth and soft stuffing, with careful needle and thread, the man crafted a golem. The golem, more a doll than a golem as one might expect such to be made of stone or clay, of wood, bone, or metal, stood all of three feet in height with a slender build, with eyes of fabric and hair made of colored silken threads. Once finished the man looked over the golem and smiled. So close, the man's heart raced.\n \"Free me.\"\n The man looked to the amulet confused, \"But are we not done yet? It let out a deafening roar as it stretched out its arms. The djinn appeared more beastial than humanlike, red skin with small flames that flickered about its form. The man stared up at the djinn whom barely fit within the central room of his home without being pushed up against the ceiling.\n \"I have freed you.
