Disclaimer: This work is a non-canon AU writing of a what-if scenario involving the relationship between Ax and Luna. The fic contains scenes of betrayal, OOC (Out of character) scenes and generally upsetting scenes. Reader discretion is advised. P.S. TheAgentMyers, I'm aware that this will never happen but I just wanted to see how much of a dark and depressing fic I could write. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cheating on a man does more damage than people realize. It ruins his outlook on love, all of his future relationships, and his peace within himself. -Unknown ------------------------- Ax stared soundlessly at the flame-engulfed pile of discarded matter, the all-too familiar clicks of the crackling inferno replacing the atmospheric silence adjoining the still staring Beldum, who showed no sign or moving, let alone leaving the area. His half-lidded expression definining many desentient emotions as a singular thought typhooned in his own mind. A single word lingering in the blank space of his subconscious, that expressed the only thought that remained without an answer as he recalled the reason for his location... "Why...?" -Several Hours Earlier- "Do you really have to go out so soon, hun~? Can't I just have a little snuggle with you in bed~?" Luna wrapped her furry arms around her steel partner and pleaded, looking into him with shimmering maroon eyes. Ax responded by stroking her cheek softly. "I know you want more of me, but there is something I must do that involves both of us. I think you'll love it very much, Lunie." He said, earning a smile from the wolf who replied by kissing him on the cheek. "I look forward to it~" Luna whispered, nuzzling him before releasing her loving grip on him. With that, Ax stuffed his wallet into one of the front pockets of his hoodie and walked out into the main street with the wolf looking on. ----- Ax exhaled thoroughly, eyeing the accessory before him; A small pure golden ring that was the accurate size of an index finger, a small hole implanted in the centre with a diamond formed of moisannite implanted in the hole. Ax grabbed a hold of the single piece of jewellery and relocated it to the cashier stand where the Jeweller scanned the ring before typing at the currency device, inputting the ring's price on the register's screen. The Beldum pulled out his wallet and retrieved slightly more than the required amount to pay to which the Jeweller accepted the currency and wished Ax a good day. The Pokémon in question walked out of the Jewellery retailer with a bit of a spring in his step but he was not finished with his current mission as his focused turned to a nearby florist that just out of coincidence had a batch of floribunda roses for sale. Ax soon returned to the complex where he and Luna loved nearly an hour ago, the sky had already adopted a deep blue pigment that symbolised the soon-coming dusk. The Beldum reached for the door handle and pushed down, only to find that the handle was resisting any movement. 'She must've locked the door' Ax thought as he knocked on the door and awaited for his lover to unlock and answer, making sure to hide the ring and bouquet so that they were only visible from the back. No response, no sound of footsteps or anything that broke the silence. After a few minutes, Ax knocked on the door once more and waited. Still no answer. Ax figured she was probably upstairs and could not hear him knocking so he resorted to calling out to her. "Luna! It's me, Ax!" She didn't call back, neither did she seem to come open the door. Was she not home? Was she asleep? Ax wasn't going to wait for an answer, he turned to a discarded cinderblock next to him and lifted it, revealing a spare key. Brushing off the specks of gravel, he unlocked the door and entered. Even the sound of opening the door didn't attract her. The Beldum slowly began walking along the entry room until he reached the doorway to the living room where he thought he could hear a faint repeating noise. Almost sounding like thumping or creaking wood. The faint noises lead Ax upstairs to where he was able to confirm it as more like creaking wood but as the sounds lead him to the door of his and Luna's bedroom, he was able to make out another noise accompanying the creaking. It sounded like repeated moaning. You ever heard that noise where it sounds like someone had just run several miles on an absurd loop and you hear they're rhytmic breaths of relief. Now try to recognise that as if they were actually taking pleasure from releasing those small breaths. Many thoughts spiralled in Ax's mind, a select few of them made him consider the possible worst that could happen to him after everything he had been through long before he met Luna. She knew about his past and showed deep sincere sympathy, swearing to turn his life to a golden future with both him and her together. She wouldn't would she? Ax reached for the doorknob and twisted slowly to avoid unwanted attention... ... ... The very second Ax registered what was happening before him, he felt the entire world collapse and melt before him. His heart became painfully brittle to which he actually felt pieces of the broken organ fall and hit the ground, shattering into dust. His vision blurred multiple times as if it were trying to stop him from looking on in disbelief, but even that failed from preventing the cold agonizing sight he was forced to witness. Luna, the one who saw a sweet soul inside of Ax and convinced it to reveal itself, the one who extinguished his lonely feelings... ...The one who gave him a reason to not give up and face life head on was sprawled onto the mattress, completely stripped of clothing, a male wolf with the same fur colour, copulating her ravenously. The silence being filled with Luna's pleasure filled moans and the other wolf's euphoric grunts as Ax only looked on, bearing multiple expressions: Disbelief, Distress.. and Betrayal. The ongoing seconds of the sickening sight became worse for the Beldum as he saw Luna's jaw ajar, tongue hanging out in pleasure while the two had either not noticed the onlooker or they didn't even care that he was watching. The last words that Ax heard come out of Luna finally made him run out of the house and onto the street, the beginning rainstorm severely dampening his clothes as tears fell from his only eye. "You're bigger than HE ever will be~" ... The Beldum's misguided running had soon lead him to a large vacant area outside the city, where the rain had finally ceased it's downpour. A pile of wood, paper and other discarded materials stood in the centre, waiting for someone to collect and dispose of it. Ax stared at the rubble with only one thing to possibly do. Without thinking, he took out his cigarette lighter, set it on and threw it at the pile, causing the debris to go in flames. The glowing orange light growing in size as the pile was soon blanketed in fire as Ax looked back down, his focus now on a small felt blue box he had in his hand, which contained the very ring he had purchased for one reason only. The sight of the box caused the visions of him seeing Luna with that wolf to return sporadically until Ax began to mentally break from the visions. With a loud cry of anguish, he threw the box containing the ring straight into the burning pile and watched as the ring case proceeded to melt from the heat and turned into nothing more than a thick black fluid that dissipated, emitting small wisps of smoke as both the case and the ring took their last breath. "Why...?" "Why did she do this to me...?" "I thought she loved me..." "I thought she cared..." Ax wanted nothing more than to rid the scene he had come across, the scene that told him the truth about their relationship. The scene that told him the truth of his worth on this godforsaken world. But to his despair, the memory that took all of the "Happy" memories he had with Luna and turned them all into lies stuck on like permanent glue. The vision would only linger in him, to haunt and remind him of how stupid he was to fall for Luna's lies, his ignorance and stupidity for deciding to keep living despite everything. The very last thing to regret stuck out to him the most... the decision to continue living. He kept his focus only on that very thought as he stared on at the burning rubble and coming to realisation, the only thing he could do now. Something that he should've done a long time ago. ------- Ax stared at the knife in his hand after sitting down on a bed in an apartment he had just recently rented for one reason. The blade glimmering a reflection from the moonlight of the nearby open window as the Beldum looked back up one more time to see a parchment of paper on the bedside desk, containing one written segment: "I'm sorry... But there's nothing left for me. I thought I could trust her, but instead she just ripped my heart out and threw it back in my face as if it were nothing. But that's okay, because now I realise that I'm nothing but a worthless pile of scrap metal that should've died along with my family a long time ago. Nothing is worth living for anymore. Goodbye..." Pulling down the neck part of his hoodie, Ax aimed the knife and jammed it straight into his eye area. A sickening sound of crushed fluid emanated from the eviscerated eye as blood poured out of the self-inflicted wound, Ax didn't flinch from the pain nor the feeling of steel cutting into his singular eye, not even when the end of the knife met and scraped against the back of the inside of his skull. More red fluid pooled around him and the colour of the skin slowly paled to white until he finally ripped the knife out of him, now permanently blind from seeing the damage he was causing to himself. First it was his fingers, and then it was every limb of his body to turn numb and limp until the heavy loss of blood over came him, making him collapse to the floor and finally... He was gone... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello. My name is Heiro. Everything you've just read before was a written recording on what I was able to find that lead to Ax's suicide. From the very start, I knew that it was a suicide from the knife next to his body and the cause had something to do with his former girlfriend from the letter on the desk. I paled when they first told me what he had done to himself. My own best friend gave up on life thanks to someone he thought actually loved him. I had a gut feeling that their relationship would be a joke but I didn't think it would turn out like this. It only got worse however when I soon found out why he had killed himself. What Luna had done to him made me feel ill, after everything he had done and given her, this is how she repays him. After telling the others my story along with giving them all the evidence needed, they gave me the word that they would remain on the lookout for any other evidence that would hint to who Ax's so-called partner was after hearing that she had left her house somewhere, possibly with him. I didn't tell them her name. I hope they don't find her, because if they do find her... Then she'll be at the mercy of society. And the society's possible method of punishment is too good for heartless scum like her. Everyone I know have started searching for her, but I've already started my own witch hunt. And I'm not stopping until I find her... And get justice for him... For Ax... ...And I won't stop until that sadistic mutt is drowning in her own rotten blood.
