Rafael’s tale chapter one Frustration. That word was the description of Rafael’s young adulthood. He always had dreams of becoming a game developer and translate his fantasies into indie platformers… He ended up however in a place with no major relation of programing or gaming at all: a course of journalism. His life did not had any color, any emotion… Rafael was now a former dead shell in comparison with that smiling puppy with his head filled with dreams from 18 years ago. That melancholic routine however, was about to change in a rather… Different way to say the very least. It all happened in a saturday, it was Rafael’s birthday and the dalmatian was at home lied down on his own bed watching DIY videos on furTube. “It’s my birthday”- Thought the dalmatian. - “Maybe I should get off the bed and do something about it… That is what my mom would suggest at least”. The dog was incontinent since young age, and he hated dining in somewhere else besides home. He wore his beast clothes, a fancy jeans, a social shirt, a belt to make sure his diaper stays at least unnoticed. He didn’t even bothered to change himself. “Well… It’s my birthday… The shopping mall usually makes me happy at least”. - Rafael thought loudly. And so he did. Rafael visited the emptiest shopping mall he could find on a holiday season. Coincidentally enough, the mall was rather familiar, the dalmatian recognized the place from his earlier childhood memories, the nostalgia made him feel a little better. “Heh…” - Rafael laughed. He heard about a fancy restaurant in the same mall, a burger would satisfy him but a nice piece of steak and a fancy drink sounded nice. On his way to the restaurant however, he found a small store that sell cupcakes. Rafael cheered up as he wandered through the glass of cakes. “Excuse mister” - Said the seller, a young canine lady. - “Did you find anything that you liked? “ “They all look rather tasty… It’s my birthday, do you recommend me anything?” - Rafael asked. “Well…” - The seller picked a small cupcake, with baby blue decorations and a rather peculiar candle. - “This one is a classic pick. We call it surprise birthday cake…”. Oddly enough, the candle was celebrating 19th year anniversary. Rafael was about to celebrate 20 years old, but in the end he didn’t cared at all. “Sounds tasty… I’ll pick this one.” -Said the dalmatian with a smile. After buying his cake, he head to a fine restaurant called Coconut. It was primarily about sea food, but there it was a few juicy stakes on the menu. He asked for one and a glass of soda, Rafael wasn’t a huge fan of alcohol anyways. It was delightful, considering he spent the rest of his day on the bed, without any meal. “Well… It’s almost 18h o clock… Guess it's time for the cake.” - The dalmatian said. He picked the cupcake from it’s package, and lightened up with a lighter from his pocket. “I guess that I should make a wish…” - Rafael asked himself. Nobody, not even the waiter was around. The restaurant was rather empty, regarding Rafael’s birthday was one day before the New Years eve. “I wish… That I could only start over… Be happy again.” - Rafael said, and with a huge blown extinguish the candle’s flame. The dalmatian took the wrapping paper off, and took a bite from the cupcake. “Chocolate”, he thought to himself. It didn’t took a minute, and he began to felt his body shrinking. His mass was decreasing, his clothing and diaper shipshiffiting. Rafael had no idea what was going on… He felt scared. When the process was over… Rafael was no taller than 31 inches, he was lighter and yet younger. The dalmatian picked the packaging of the cupcake, and he was shocked! Rafael wasn’t a adult anymore, but… A baby? “What? Wha- Wha- What?” - He gasped. - “buh- buh- but… How? How this is even biologically possible?”. The few other clients at the restaurant seemed annoyed, they called for the waiter to check the desk on the corner. The employee found himself rather surprised when he saw the little puppy sat on the same table where a Dalmatian just ordered a steak. “Ah… Hiya little one… Where is your daddy?” - Asked the waiter gently. “Daddy? My parents are dead! And you just served me a steak!” - Rafael tried to answer, but the waiter just heard a bunch of baby talk. “Heh heh heh, you’re a rather small to order something here? Right?” - The waiter answered playfully. - “Let me take you somewhere else.” - He picked Rafael in the arms. “Heya! What are you doing? Where are you taking me?” - Rafael protested, but the waiter just ignored his cry. “There you go little one, enjoy.” - The waiter said. The little dalmatian puppy looked around. It was a place filled with kids and all types of colorful toys. It was a daycare. “Buh… Buh… I’m notta a baby!”- Rafael exclaimed in tears. The puppy curled himself up in the corner of the daycare. The rubber colorful mat wasn’t by any means comfort, but he didn’t cared. Rafael cried himself to sleep while desperately sucking his thumb. The caretakers didn’t really noticed the cub, they were far too busy with the active brats. The clock hit midnight, and the cub was still asleep. Not so distantly, a adult wolf with light blue fur and orange hair was paying the bill. It was the last client on the place. “Thanks monsieur.” - Said the waiter. “The pleasure was all mine”. - Said the adult wolf. The wolf was about to leave through the front door, but then he noticed the little puppy curled up in the corner of the daycare, the lines of tears suggested the toddler was crying before fall asleep. The puppy was certainly no older than two years old. “Excuse me! Wiater.” - The wolf called. “Yes monsieur? Anything wrong?” - The waiter asked. “Is this kid son of anyone in the staff?” - The wolf asked. “I work here for 5 years… It isn’t my son. Neither son of anyone else, I would know…” - He answered. - “I sincerely saw him earlier… I thought that it was your son.” - The waiter added. “Not really…” - The wolf said as he picked a piece of document from his wallet. - “However, I am a volunteer from the child social services”. “I see. The kid is all yours… Mister… Kora?” - Said the waiter. “I appreciate your cooperation.” - Kora, the wolf gently picked the puppy in his arms. Taking care to not wake up the sleeping toddler. The gentle wolf placed the pupper on his car’s backseat, he could smell the stink, so he carefully changed it’s diaper and placed the puppy on the child seat. He thought to himself before turning on the engine: “Don’t worry kiddo. I’ll find your parents.” (...)
