Desperately trying to beat out the person ahead of them, and get their plane tickets printed first.  Luggage was strewn about as people prepare to go through security. Security alert. Report suspicious baggage to security right away. The speakers drone on in their routines.\n\nOne couple amongst them all stands still. They’re seemingly unaffected by the airport shuffle. A husky stands tall, a large green duffel bag slung across his back. A younger kangaroo across from him.\n\n“Pro, do you have to go?” Roo looks up to meet the Husky's eyes, both teary. He asks the question, although he already knows the answer.\n\n“Hon, you know I do. This is important for a lot of people. A great way to advance the future of medicine…and a great way to jump-start our future. “ Pro responds, fighting back tears.\n\nRoo hangs his head a little, “I know…I just..”\n\nPro moves his paws to cup the joeys muzzle, lifting it to meet his. A tender kiss. A reminder of their love. “I know hon. I do. This sucks. However, it’s only one year…one year apart. And one year isn’t so long, in an eternity. Now is it? “\n\nThe Roo shakes his head, “No it’s not.” He fumbles in his pocket and pulls out a blue band-aid. The moment he touches it to the Husky's nose, Pro begins to cry. “To keep you safe.”\n\nPro nods and wraps his arms around his mate...hugging him one last time before letting go and stepping back. “I have to go now. Be good. Be safe. If you’re ever lonely…just think if our great times together, and the amazing future ahead of us.” Final boarding call for Baghdad. He steps back again and turns to head into the terminal when two paws wrap around him from behind.\n\n“You better come back to me, Mr. Husky.”\n\n“I have someone worth coming back to.” He steps forward, out of the Joey's arms and into security.
