He couldn't help but find it enjoyable nonetheless though. \n\nFast forward a bit, and the two now find themselves taking refuge in the warehouse for the night. After the town, little else happened, meeting a few bandits and other thieves here and there that mistook Ixen for this \"kobold\" thing once more. Without magic, they were swiftly dealt with, either scared off from his fire magic, or burnt alive and killed by it. Either was fine with him, so it didn't matter. \n\nWhile the two talked over a quick meal prep, a knock on the door startled the two. No one should know the two were here, let alone would have knock before entering if they knew. So who was it? \n\nReadying a spell and telling Yori to go hide somewhere, Ixen cautiously made his way to the door. Swinging it open he was met with a towering, muscular figure of a shark, an image that was nothing like what he and Yori had encountered here up until now. His appearance, weapon and mana attuned gemstones adorning his shoulder and leg made it clear he wasn't from here. \n\n\"Ixen and Yori? You two again? You make quite a pair with how much noise you both cause...\" \n\n\"I-I'm sorry, who are you?\" \n\n\"Haibei. Hunter. I don't really work for none, but I do make some coin taking out criminals like you. Though I'll admit, this was more of a chance meeting than anything. Who knew two world bouncers would end up meeting. Sadly, you have a bounty on your head here, and I've need of a good sack of coin.\" \n\n\"As if Ixen would lose to a big fish like you! Kick that pathetic warriors ass Ixen!!\" \n\nYori's yelling from the back stirred the two on, with Ixen sighing before looking Haibei up and down. He was clearly built, muscular, strong. He as much taller than Ixen himself as well, towering over the 4 foot dragon with muscle nearly doubling Ixen's stature. The sight caused Ixen to blush a bit, only to shake himself out of it, before leaning against the frame. \n\n\"Look, I know you probably get your fair share of easy targets and marks...but I'm going to give you a bit of a fair warning. I'm one of the strongest mages across the multiverse-\" \n\nBefore he could continue, Yori yelled out from behind, hearing the conversation take place between the two. \n\n\"Second to me!\" \n\n\"Right, second to her. Point is, I'm sure most of your bounties involve muuuuch weaker opponents, so if you want to just turn around and leave, we can forget this whole charade and put it under us. Otherwise I might have to embarrass you. What do you say?\" \n\nThe words only caused the shark to smile, a toothy grin crossed his face, the cocky little reptile turning him on as he looked Ixen up and down. Just like himself, Ixen wore little to cover his body, leaving it all out on display. While his arms were covered by the large mantle, his big, round belly was handing out uninhibited, and his thick tail swaying back and forth excitedly. It was hard to tell if he was finding any arousal in the situation, with his stomach taking up so much of his frame, but Haibei couldn't help but at least enjoy it. \n\nRegardless, despite Ixen's offer, he raised his sword up and swung it down, destroying the door in one powerful swipe, with Ixen only being left a few moments to back away and dodge the incoming blow. Even if his shield would have absorbed the damage, the impact likely would have caused significant damage to it.\"\n\n\"Gonna have to say no on that one, little kobold. You aren't the first mage to make that kinda claim, and likely won't be the last. But...give me a good time and I miiiiiight consider changing my plans.\" \n\nOnce more, the term kobold was used, and Ixen found himself more than a little annoyed at hearing it. What on earth was this \"kobold\" that he kept being called? \n\n\"Kobold, kobold, kobold! I'm not a damn kobold!! What the hell even is that? I'm a dragon jackass! And I'll prove it to you!!!\" \n\nWith a rush of anger, Ixen immediately moved his arms in a circular motion, creating a ring of fire and blasting the doorway. The ensuing explosion caused a billow of fire and smoke to erupt, setting the entire shack on fire. However, Haibei was left no worse for wear, as the gems pulsated, and an aura surrounded him, causing him to smile and laugh. \n\n\"Daaaamn! You weren't kidding! Barely even tapped your wellspring and practically blew this place up in an instant! Some truth to that mage statement then...I'll have to be careful...\" \n\nHe left the description of the gems out, choosing to rush in with an attack from his massive broadsword, the attack causing Ixen to create a shield in front of him! The swings collided with the flame barrier, before fire tendrils emerged from it and attempted to grapple the sword from the sharkman's grip! Once again, the blue gems pulsated, causing the flames to immediately dissipate, even eroding the shield a bit. \n\n\"Mana displacement gems?!\"\n\n\"Ooooh! You figured it out on sight? So quick. most mages don't even notice before I beat them. Though you are giving these gems a workout!!! Never saw them have such a hard time dousing another's mana!\" \n\nThe sight of them caused Ixen to growl, a scowl on his face clearly apparent as he pumped more mana into his palm before blasting the shark directly in the stomach with a powerful bolt of electricity! The gems, much to their namesake, caused the electricity to sputter and cackle, but unlike the fire, it began to burst and strike at the nearby wood, causing small fires to crop up, with one of the stray bolts nearly hitting Yori as she moved away from the two. \n\nHaibei himself was more than a little impressed by it, the gems normally having little issue nullifying any mages he fought. But with Ixen, the gems weren't able to entirely nullify his magic. The only recourse being to deflect it or get overwhelmed. Ixen, cocky as he is, was overpowering the gems with little effort. \n\nRealizing that taking too long would only result in himself being turned into a newly fried fish, the warrior ran in closer, blitzing through the spell as the gems sputtered and bolts of electricity struck him on the sides. Through the pain, he quickly grabbed Ixen, and swung him onto a table! The sudden impact made him stop as the impact immediately caused the casting to cease. \n\n\"If we weren't in an enclosed space, safe to say you'd be at an advantage, little dragon. I doubt I would be able to take you out, honestly. Sorry for calling you a kobold earlier...you're definitely a dragon, not a kobold with that level of strength. I'd enjoy a fight with you again in a more fair arena.\" \n\n\"Shut up!!! You and your dumb magic nullifying gems! You wouldn't even be alive if not for those annoying ass things!!!\" \n\n\"So the mage is complaining to the warrior for having anti-mage measures, while the mage was too cocky and sure to even consider having ways to deal with anti-magic items? So annoying...perhaps I was wrong, kobold might not be too far off...\" \n\n\"Let go of me or I'll make you regret ever stepping foot in here!\" \n\n\"Threats mean a lot less when you can't fight back, little kobold.\" \n\nIt was then that he eyed Ixen's slit, long and tantalizing.
