The adventurer walked cautiously through the underground ruins. The crumbled remains of an ancient kingdom forgotten by time surrounded him. Approaching a rather large door, he knew he had reached his desitination. The door was rather ornate, featuring a large dragon and several children of varying races playing in its presence. It was impressive that this decoration withstood a long test of time. The adventurer set his torch down for a moment and took a deep breath as he began to shove the door open. It a bit of force, but the sound of grinding stone and falling dust told him he was making progress. Finally, the great door had inched open just enough for him to slip through and in he went. The chamber within was a sight to behold. Grand and open, with windows high above that would have allowed in sunlight. Despite the large size of the room, a bridge was the only ground between the adventurer and an abyss of unknown depth. Off to the sides of the bridge, far out of reach were several evenly spaced braziers on pillars that burned with a magical purple flame which illuminated the chamber well compared to the rest of the ruins. Across the stretch of a bridge, the adventurer could see a glowing object hovering above some kind of pedestal. There was no doubt that this was the object he had been searching for. Slowly but surely, he stepped his way down the steps and onto the bridge. Approaching the glowing object, he began to reflect on his life so far. Growing up on the streets was not easy. Forced to pick pockets and steal from market stalls was not the life he wanted. As he got older, the adventurer had set his eyes on greater things. Finding and selling ancient treasures had been more than enough to keep him afloat all these years, but it still wasn't enough. He wanted a completely carefree life, like pampered royalty. That's when he heard rumors of an ancient crystal. "Whoever gets their hands on that artifact will never have to work again in their life!" An old vagrant at the tavern had said. The other patrons listening to his stories merely laughed as such a treasure could never exist. But the adventurer couldn't resist this info. Sharing a few drinks with the old man, he learned everything the vagrant knew. After plenty of research of his own, the adventurer pinpointed where he believed he needed to search. Snapping back into the present, the adventurer was very close. The artifact seemed to be a purple crystal, suspended in the air above a pedestal. Its glow was very soothing, washing away any fears the man was feeling at the time. Slowly, he reached up with an open hand. The crystal now floated next to his palm. After a moment of hesitation, he closed his fingers around the purple crystal. Within seconds, an overwhealming energy pulsed from the crystal, coarsing throughout his entire body. Though nothing was happening, he could certainly feel it. The adventurer began to panic, he tried to let go of the crystal, but his hand refused to obey him. He attempted to pull the crystal from its location, but it would not budge from the air. Grabbing his arm with his free hand, he pulled and yanked. He attempted to pry his own fingers off the artifact with hsi own strength, but it was all for naught. That's when he heard it. A voice echoed through the large chamber. A man or a woman's voice? It was impossible to tell, it was as if two voices were speaking together from a single source. "To recieve my gift is to be free of the burden of responsibility. From this day forward, all of your needs may be provided for you. Do you accept?" The unusual voice spoke. Though he was frightened, the adventurer had thought of all his hardships. His dream: a life of luxury was so close. If he turned back now, who knows if he'd get another chance? Resolved in his choice, he cleared is throat. "I accept." He spoke with newfound confidence. "Very well then... What has been done cannot be undone." The voice replied. The crystal began to slowly rise high, and the adventurer realised he could finally ease his grip of it. Watching it float hgiher out of reach, he stood in awe as it began to glow even brighter than before. Beams of light shot from the crytal into each of the braziers in the room, causing them to burn furiously. With a burst, each brazier released a ball of glowing purple fire and they all began to converge together on the opposite end of the bridge. A mighty pillar of flame matching the color erupted where they met and within it, a large form began to materialize. As the pillar of fire calmed, the adventurer could now get a good look at the creature. A very large dragon stood across the bridge opposite of him, the only way out behind it. Though the adventurer had every reason to be terrified, he felt rather at peace. The soothing aura that radiated from the crystal could now be felt from the dragon, with much greater intensity. Even without the aura, the dragon itself was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. The massive purple and black reptilian stood on all fours, but carried itself with an elegant grace. It stretched its wings, displaying a massive wing span and a pattern within its membrane that could be mistaken for anotother galaxy. Its horns were smooth and well polished, pointing back above the creature's head. This was no beast in front of the adventurer. He stood before a god. "Be not afraid, traveler." The strange voice spoke from the direction of the dragon, though it did not open its mouth. "A new life awaits you. You will be free to roam and play as you please, for all of eternity. But I cannot take you through the passage between realms as you are. Your body as it is now is too anchored to this world, but I can fix that." The adventurer looked confused by the dragon's words. Did he misinterpret the rumours? What did the dragon mean by all of this? Distracted by his own questions, the adventurer failed to notice the creature taking a deep breath. With a load roar, a blast of purple fire gushed from the dragon's open maw. The adventurer had no time to react, within seconds he was surrounded by the storm of flame. But curiously enough, the flame didn't burn in the slightest. It even tickled a bit. The adventurer felt strangely dizzy and fell to his knees. Closing his eyes, he began to black out. Coming back to, the sound of the roaring fire had ceased. The adventure opened his eyes to realize he was curled up on the floor. Standing up, he noticed that everything in the room seemed much bigger than before. He even felt the chill of the air against his skin. Looking down, he was shocked to see his own clothes lie on the floor beneath him. The room hadn't grown bigger, but rather, he had shrunk in size. The dragon stood patiently, watching over the small human and seeing how he adapted to his new and younger body. His limbs felt weaker and stubbier. Any attempts to speak merely escaped his mouth as untamed noise. Though he remembered everything, it was as if his memories were clashing with his new body. His brain began to throw out what was no longer relevant to its new form and work in what did in its own way. The need for treasure was fading away, but the passion to explore still burned strong within. He no longer needed to hone his body for dangerous situations, but running and playing with others would keep him fit. Why spend evenings staring into a mug of mead when juice tastes so much better? Already the little adventurer had forgotten what he was so worried about before and his concerned look had changed into a smile. "Well then, child, it seems you have already adjusted to your new body. This will be who you are from now on..." The dragon spoke, a pleasant smile forming across its muzzle. "But you still need something else..." The eyes of the dragon began to glow as two objects appeared before it, zipping over through the air to the child. They both swirled around the boy who looked around at them with amazement. One of the objects sliped over his head and around his body, revealing itself to be a shirt which shielded his entire body from uncomfortable temperatures. The other object glided between his legs, folding up around his front and back side. The moment the wings wraped around the boy's waist and fastened to the front with their tapes, the boy felt a wonderful. The soft, bulky padding brought a sense of comfort to him both mentally and physically. Safe and secure, he could go anywhere resting assured that even his own bodily functions would not be a burden to him. "And with that, I believe you're ready. Come now, my child. Your new brothers and sisters wait for us in paradise." The dragon beckoned to the boy. The little adventure slowly began to walk. The thickness of the fluffy undergarment was a little awkward at first, but soon the diaper clad child learned to part his legs and motion with his waist. His walking turned into a jog as he quickly made his way to the dragon, who sat back and scooped the boy up with their now free hands. Holding the young boy in its arms, the dragon doted over their new child. Hugging him and brushing his cheek with a finger, the dragon was happy to welcome a newcomer to its family. Cradling the boy in its arms, the dragon began to flap its wings. Suspedning itself in the air of the massive chamber, the creature turned towards the door that served as its only entrance. With another might flap, the dragon soared full speed at the door and in a flash of light, the pair vanished from this world. The crystal took its usual place above the pedestal and the massive door shifted shut once again, only this time a new child had taken their place among the others upon it.
