"writing": "Sventon\nUnlikely Friendship\n\n\nThe breeze blew through the tranquil forest causing the tall Evergreen trees to gracefully sway as if they were dancing. The leaves that they had shed crackled beneath Sventon’s paws as he made his way to the southeastern portion of the forest to visit his friend Umaldi.\n\n \tAs much as Sventon enjoyed the winter from the gently falling snowflakes to the nice warm fire his owner always kept stoked, he also looked forward to the springtime. Not only was the warmer weather enjoyable, it also marked the day when Umaldi would be waking up from his hibernation.\n \t\nUmaldi a giant behemoth of a Grizzly bear roamed the southeastern part of the forest, he had crossed paths with Sventon a couple of years before when the latter had unknowingly wandered into his territory.\n \t \nUmaldi who had been eating elderberries was taken aback by the sudden appearance of the young Mountain Cur in the forest, fighting against every instinct he had to attack the young dog he continued to eat his elderberries. He cast his gaze towards the dog, a smile forming on his muzzle as juice from the elderberries dripped from his lips. “Well now isn’t this a pleasant surprise, now young one what brings you to my neck of the woods?”\n \t \n“I’m so very sorry about this sir, I just wanted to see what lay beyond the farm.” Sventon replied he couldn’t help but tremble at the sight of the large Grizzley before him. Sventon knew that he may be eating at the moment but that didn’t mean he couldn’t attack at any moment.\n \t Umaldi let out a hearty chuckle and slowly approached the pooch, his hulking frame slowly emerging from the bush. \n \t “What’s your name kid, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you in this forest before?”\n \t\n “My name's Sventon, glad to meet cha.” The Curs tail gently swished through the air, a gentle breeze blew through the trees rustling their fur, after a moment of silence as the two of them gazed at each other, Sventon cleared his throat and gave a slight bow.\n \t \n“Now where are my manners? I was so preoccupied I didn’t ask you your name.” He whimpered and his ears dropped, he hoped he hadn’t offended the bear in some way. He couldn’t help but tremble in the presence of the muscular bear in front of him and was prepared to run if the encounter went bad.\n \t \n“My name is Umaldi, and don’t worry little fella I won’t hurt you unless I’m givin a reason to.” “What’s your name?”\n \t\n “Nice to meet you Umaldi, my name is Sventon, I apologize again for wandering into your territory.” His demeanor had noticeably changed and he had stopped trembling, once he knew Umaldi wasn’t going to hurt him Sventon casually approached the Elderberry bush and sniffed them curiously.\n \t \n He gazed up at the hulking brown furred bear and stuck out his tongue hoping to lick the berries, he only stopped after Ulmaldi gently pushed his head away with his paw. \n \t “I don’t think you should do that friend, elderberries are poisonous to dogs, I would hate to know you got poisoned.”\n \t\n “Yeah thanks for that pal.” Sventon replied, chuckling nervously as he put his tongue back into his mouth, “I can’t believe I almost did that.” \n \t\n The sun began to set and the two animals continued to chat, Sventons ears perked up as the sound of his owner's voice carried through the trees, he turned to Umaldi and smiled, his tail wagging happily. “Well it was nice to meet you Umaldi but I’ve got to get back, my owners calling me.”\n \t \n“It was nice meeting you too, Sventon, you take care of yourself.”\n \t\nThat meeting had been in the fall and Sventon hadn’t seen Umaladi since then, he excitedly made his way through the forest, the snow from the past winter had melted away leaving behind the pale green of the grass. The elderberry bushes were starting to spring to life again as new berries were beginning to grow. Making his way through the bushes Sventon came upon a small cave tucked away in a rocky alcove, he began to slowly approach it just in case Umaldi was still asleep, he didn’t want to scare him and the last thing he wanted was a startled bear charging at him.\n \t\n He approached the mouth of the cave and sat down clearing his throat and called out into the dim cave, “Hello Umaldi are you there?” His voice echoed throughout the small cramped space and his ear perked up at the sound of forming coming from the far left corner.\n \t \n“Is that you Sventon I’m still waking up from hibernation, how have you been?” The grizzly stirred for a moment and finally sat up with a big smile forming on his face, he walked over to where the dog was sitting and softly wrapped his paws in a hug.\n \t \n Sventon barked and wagged his tail trying as hard as he could to wrap his paws around the bear's waist. “Pretty good just doing the usual, working and going out for trips into the mountains. Winter is fun and all but spring makes me happy.” “Because I get to see you again Umaldi once your hibernation is done.”\n \t He chuckled and playfully bopped Umaldi on the nose drawing a hearty chuckle from the bear that echoed off the walls, after a moment of silence Umaldi walked over to where Sventon was standing and sat down, letting out a loud groan as he stretched his hulking frame.\n \n “You know for a canine you're not bad Sventon, I’m really glad to have you as a friend.”\n Sventon chuckled and gazed up at the bear, a big smile forming on his muzzle, his tail swishing back and forth through the air behind him, “Likewise Umaldi for a big lumbering bear you're not so bad yourself.”\n \nThe two of them continued to chat the afternoon away, they both were engrossed in the conversation so much so that it was almost sundown. Sventon gasped and lept up to his feet. \n “Oh gosh it’s already sundown, I got to go Umaldi before my owner begins to wonder where I went.”\n \n “Go ahead Sventon I’ll see you again at some point, just be careful I’ve heard a pack of wolves have been in the forest. I’m worried they might try to attack the farm at some point.”\n “I’ll keep a lookout, see you later Umaldi.”\n \nNow with an added fear of this unknown pack of wolves Sventon darted back towards home, the sky had turned a beautiful blend of orange and red as the sun dipped below the clouds as he made his way home. He hoped that what Umaldi had told him about the intruders wasn’t true but he was ready to protect his home if it came to that.\n \nNo pack of wolves was going to attack his home if he could help it, plus his owner was quite handy with a gun so if these wolves were foolish enough to attack the farm they would have a fight on their paws.\n \n A couple of hours later Sventon climbed into the basket at the foot of the bed, he had been hearing howls throughout the night and he knew the wolves were on the move. Where were they going and what was their purpose he surmised he would find out eventually, he stretched and letting out a big yawn closed his eyes eager for a blissful night's sleep.\n \nThe night was filled with a chorus of crickets chirping, the small creatures making merry music as the light cast its silver glow upon the farm, whether it was instinct or something else entirely Sventon jolted out of his sleep and stretched his weary frame. He walked over to his water dish and lapped up the cool water. He had been thinking about what Umaldi had said earlier that afternoon and couldn’t help shake the feeling that something was going to happen.\n \nThe farm had seen its fair share of wolves come and attack but each time Sventon and the humans had driven them out. The last attack had claimed the lives of seven chickens and the rooster had barely escaped with only a few bites and scratches to show for his trouble.\n \nSventon's ears perked up as he heard howls coming from the forest, with each passing minute they got closer and closer which could only mean one thing, they were headed towards the farm. Making a mad dash towards the door, Sventon let loose with a loud series of barks which roused his owner out of their slumber. He waited as his owner went to grab their gun, the fur on the back of his neck rising as he growled and began to pace back and forth. He glanced over his shoulder as his owner walked towards him, gunhand, they headed out and proceeded towards the chicken coop on the northern end of the property.\n \n The farm was dark and quiet as they made their way past the stable, Sventon leaned down and sniffed the ground hoping to pick up the scent of the wolves. Just then the sound of loudly bleating sheep reached his ears and Seventon ran in the direction of the pasture, he hoped that he wasn’t too late and that the wolves hadn’t killed too many of them.\n \nSventon gasped as he came upon a grisly sight, bodies of sheep were strewn everywhere as blood covered the ground. This was a massacre. Spread throughout the grass lay the headless bodies of several sheep, their entrails ripped from their bodies as blood soaked the ground red \n Sventon had seen the savagery of a wolf attack before but this was on a whole other level. Whichever pack of wolves was responsible for this savagery had one thing on their mind blood.\n\n “Well well it seems the precious guard dog has come to play, he really doesn’t seem like anything special.”\n Sventon gasped and his perked up at the sound of the voice, anger was coursing through him and he snarled eager to rip the ones responsible for the slaughter apart.\n \n“Show yourselves and I’m not exactly in a good mood so don’t test my patience.”\n \n “Oh don’t worry pup we wouldn’t dream of it, in fact your not even worth our time. It wouldn’t be a fair fight seeing as you couldn’t save these poor sheep.”\n \nTwo wolves emerged from the shadows, wide evil grins on their faces, their grey fur stained with the blood of the sheep they had just eaten. Their pale yellow eyes had a hint of mischief and evil to them and Sventon couldn’t help but shiver as he stared into the pair of soulless orbs before him.\n \n “Who are you and why did you do this?”\n \n“Oh I’m sorry where are my manners, we were so busy enjoying ourselves we didn’t even introduce ourselves.” “Im Mori and this is my brother Henrik, you know your kind of cute for a pampered farm dog.”\n \nShe slowly sauntered towards Sventon her hips swaying with each step, she paused and once face to face with her adversary she giggled and slowly licked Sventons cheek.\n \nHe growled and swiped his paw at her disgusted she had the nerve to approach him after the slaughter the two wolves were responsible for.\n \n“You know Henrik, he's rather cute. I wouldn't mind getting to play with him for a bit.”\n \n “That’s quite enough Mori, if we don’t leave soon the humans will arrive and I’d rather not be here when they do.” His deep raspy voice cut through the tension like a hot knife through butter and his muscular frame rippled with strength and was one honed for killing. Sventon hoped they wouldn’t have to fight; he wasn't sure how long he could last against a foe as strong as him.\n\n “What’s your name handsome?” Mori asked as she playfully drew her tail under his chin.\n “Sventon.”\n\n “Well your either incredibly brave or rather naive to think you can stop us, I’m willing to bet it’s the latter.” After a brief chuckle Mori turned to Henrik, “Come on brother let’s get out of here before the humans come back.”\n\n She gave Sventon one last lick on the cheek and ran off leaving him confused and surprised, one thing was certain she was quite odd and he hoped their paths wouldn’t cross again at least for a little while.\n A minute later his owner appeared and took a moment to take in the carnage before them, he gazed down and smiled giving Sventon a pat on the head. “Good work boy.”\n\n They headed back to the house in silence, Sventon couldn’t help but be disappointed in himself, maybe he could have stopped the wolves if he had been faster but he also knew that wolves were known for being sneaky and there was no way he could have heard them coming until it was too late. He settled into his bed for the night and hoped that this would be the final time he saw Mori. He didn’t know that he was wrong and that the next time they crossed paths it would be for a very surprising reason.\n\n The next day Sventon made his way through the forest, after the events of last night he had been feeling a tad unsettled and he needed to talk to someone. \n\n He paused outside of Umaldi's cave and barked letting his friend know he was there, as he waited for the bear to appear he thought of his owner who had been left to pick up the pieces. The leaves that they had shed crackled beneath Sventon’s paws as he made his way to the southeastern portion of the forest to visit his friend Umaldi.

\tAs much as Sventon enjoyed the winter from the gently falling snowflakes to the nice warm fire his owner always kept stoked, he also looked forward to the springtime. Not only was the warmer weather enjoyable, it also marked the day when Umaldi would be waking up from his hibernation.
    \t
Umaldi a giant behemoth of a Grizzly bear roamed the southeastern part of the forest, he had crossed paths with Sventon a couple of years before when the latter had unknowingly wandered into his territory.
   \t
Umaldi who had been eating elderberries was taken aback by the sudden appearance of the young Mountain Cur in the forest, fighting against every instinct he had to attack the young dog he continued to eat his elderberries. He cast his gaze towards the dog, a smile forming on his muzzle as juice from the elderberries dripped from his lips. “Well now isn’t this a pleasant surprise, now young one what brings you to my neck of the woods?”
   \t
“I’m so very sorry about this sir, I just wanted to see what lay beyond the farm.” Sventon replied he couldn’t help but tremble at the sight of the large Grizzley before him. Sventon knew that he may be eating at the moment but that didn’t mean he couldn’t attack at any moment.
\t Umaldi let out a hearty chuckle and slowly approached the pooch, his hulking frame slowly emerging from the bush.
\t “What’s your name kid, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you in this forest before?”
  \t
“My name's Sventon, glad to meet cha.” The Curs tail gently swished through the air, a gentle breeze blew through the trees rustling their fur, after a moment of silence as the two of them gazed at each other, Sventon cleared his throat and gave a slight bow.
  \t
“Now where are my manners? I was so preoccupied I didn’t ask you your name.” He whimpered and his ears dropped, he hoped he hadn’t offended the bear in some way. He couldn’t help but tremble in the presence of the muscular bear in front of him and was prepared to run if the encounter went bad.
   \t
“My name is Umaldi, and don’t worry little fella I won’t hurt you unless I’m givin a reason to.” “What’s your name?”
   \t
“Nice to meet you Umaldi, my name is Sventon, I apologize again for wandering into your territory.” His demeanor had noticeably changed and he had stopped trembling, once he knew Umaldi wasn’t going to hurt him Sventon casually approached the Elderberry bush and sniffed them curiously.
  \t
He gazed up at the hulking brown furred bear and stuck out his tongue hoping to lick the berries, he only stopped after Ulmaldi gently pushed his head away with his paw.
\t “I don’t think you should do that friend, elderberries are poisonous to dogs, I would hate to know you got poisoned.”
  \t
“Yeah thanks for that pal.” Sventon replied, chuckling nervously as he put his tongue back into his mouth, “I can’t believe I almost did that.”
   \t
The sun began to set and the two animals continued to chat, Sventons ears perked up as the sound of his owner's voice carried through the trees, he turned to Umaldi and smiled, his tail wagging happily. “Well it was nice to meet you Umaldi but I’ve got to get back, my owners calling me.”
   \t
“It was nice meeting you too, Sventon, you take care of yourself.”
   \t
That meeting had been in the fall and Sventon hadn’t seen Umaladi since then, he excitedly made his way through the forest, the snow from the past winter had melted away leaving behind the pale green of the grass. The elderberry bushes were starting to spring to life again as new berries were beginning to grow. Making his way through the bushes Sventon came upon a small cave tucked away in a rocky alcove, he began to slowly approach it just in case Umaldi was still asleep, he didn’t want to scare him and the last thing he wanted was a startled bear charging at him.
   \t
He approached the mouth of the cave and sat down clearing his throat and called out into the dim cave, “Hello Umaldi are you there?” His voice echoed throughout the small cramped space and his ear perked up at the sound of forming coming from the far left corner.
   \t
“Is that you Sventon I’m still waking up from hibernation, how have you been?” The grizzly stirred for a moment and finally sat up with a big smile forming on his face, he walked over to where the dog was sitting and softly wrapped his paws in a hug.
  \t
Sventon barked and wagged his tail trying as hard as he could to wrap his paws around the bear's waist. “Pretty good just doing the usual, working and going out for trips into the mountains. Winter is fun and all but spring makes me happy.” “Because I get to see you again Umaldi once your hibernation is done.”
\t He chuckled and playfully bopped Umaldi on the nose drawing a hearty chuckle from the bear that echoed off the walls, after a moment of silence Umaldi walked over to where Sventon was standing and sat down, letting out a loud groan as he stretched his hulking frame.

“You know for a canine you're not bad Sventon, I’m really glad to have you as a friend.”
Sventon chuckled and gazed up at the bear, a big smile forming on his muzzle, his tail swishing back and forth through the air behind him, “Likewise Umaldi for a big lumbering bear you're not so bad yourself.”

The two of them continued to chat the afternoon away, they both were engrossed in the conversation so much so that it was almost sundown. Sventon gasped and lept up to his feet.
“Oh gosh it’s already sundown, I got to go Umaldi before my owner begins to wonder where I went.”

“Go ahead Sventon I’ll see you again at some point, just be careful I’ve heard a pack of wolves have been in the forest. I’m worried they might try to attack the farm at some point.”
“I’ll keep a lookout, see you later Umaldi.”

Now with an added fear of this unknown pack of wolves Sventon darted back towards home, the sky had turned a beautiful blend of orange and red as the sun dipped below the clouds as he made his way home. He hoped that what Umaldi had told him about the intruders wasn’t true but he was ready to protect his home if it came to that.

No pack of wolves was going to attack his home if he could help it, plus his owner was quite handy with a gun so if these wolves were foolish enough to attack the farm they would have a fight on their paws.

A couple of hours later Sventon climbed into the basket at the foot of the bed, he had been hearing howls throughout the night and he knew the wolves were on the move. Where were they going and what was their purpose he surmised he would find out eventually, he stretched and letting out a big yawn closed his eyes eager for a blissful night's sleep.

The night was filled with a chorus of crickets chirping, the small creatures making merry music as the light cast its silver glow upon the farm, whether it was instinct or something else entirely Sventon jolted out of his sleep and stretched his weary frame. He walked over to his water dish and lapped up the cool water. He had been thinking about what Umaldi had said earlier that afternoon and couldn’t help shake the feeling that something was going to happen.

The farm had seen its fair share of wolves come and attack but each time Sventon and the humans had driven them out. The last attack had claimed the lives of seven chickens and the rooster had barely escaped with only a few bites and scratches to show for his trouble.

Sventon's ears perked up as he heard howls coming from the forest, with each passing minute they got closer and closer which could only mean one thing, they were headed towards the farm. Making a mad dash towards the door, Sventon let loose with a loud series of barks which roused his owner out of their slumber. He waited as his owner went to grab their gun, the fur on the back of his neck rising as he growled and began to pace back and forth. He glanced over his shoulder as his owner walked towards him, gunhand, they headed out and proceeded towards the chicken coop on the northern end of the property.

The farm was dark and quiet as they made their way past the stable, Sventon leaned down and sniffed the ground hoping to pick up the scent of the wolves. Just then the sound of loudly bleating sheep reached his ears and Seventon ran in the direction of the pasture, he hoped that he wasn’t too late and that the wolves hadn’t killed too many of them.

Sventon gasped as he came upon a grisly sight, bodies of sheep were strewn everywhere as blood covered the ground. This was a massacre. Spread throughout the grass lay the headless bodies of several sheep, their entrails ripped from their bodies as blood soaked the ground red
Sventon had seen the savagery of a wolf attack before but this was on a whole other level. Whichever pack of wolves was responsible for this savagery had one thing on their mind blood.

“Well well it seems the precious guard dog has come to play, he really doesn’t seem like anything special.”
Sventon gasped and his perked up at the sound of the voice, anger was coursing through him and he snarled eager to rip the ones responsible for the slaughter apart.

“Show yourselves and I’m not exactly in a good mood so don’t test my patience.”

“Oh don’t worry pup we wouldn’t dream of it, in fact your not even worth our time. It wouldn’t be a fair fight seeing as you couldn’t save these poor sheep.”

Two wolves emerged from the shadows, wide evil grins on their faces, their grey fur stained with the blood of the sheep they had just eaten. Their pale yellow eyes had a hint of mischief and evil to them and Sventon couldn’t help but shiver as he stared into the pair of soulless orbs before him.

“Who are you and why did you do this?”

“Oh I’m sorry where are my manners, we were so busy enjoying ourselves we didn’t even introduce ourselves.” “Im Mori and this is my brother Henrik, you know your kind of cute for a pampered farm dog.”

She slowly sauntered towards Sventon her hips swaying with each step, she paused and once face to face with her adversary she giggled and slowly licked Sventons cheek.

He growled and swiped his paw at her disgusted she had the nerve to approach him after the slaughter the two wolves were responsible for.

“You know Henrik, he's rather cute.
