He soon spotted a very large barn with a big yellow bird painted above the doors and a long fence out front. A bale of hay sat next to the fence, along with a small crate of large carrots that appeared to be...glowing? Pheagle was hungry from the trip, so he thought, what the hell? They looked pretty fresh and anything that big would probably satisfy him quickly. Grinning as he sat down on the haystack, Pheagle took a bite of the odd-looking carrot, blissfully unaware of what was about to happen to him!
No sooner did he take the bite, when Pheagle's demeanor changed, as he noticed his jacket snap open. He dropped the "carrot" in shock as his mouth started to change and bring red feathers burst from his head, knocking his straw hat askew! The sleeves of his perfect-fitting jacket quickly burst, unable to withstand his growing arms. His gloves and boots started to bulge as his hands and feet started to change inside them. And his overalls started to buckle from the pressure, showing more red feathers!
Pheagle groaned in pain and stood up as the back of his overalls was pushed to its limits by a new, unfamiliar body part. His gloves and sleeves burst as new red-feathered wings exposed themselves to the world. The last of his jacket snaps burst open and his overall straps came undone as his chest grew and was covered in more of the red feathering, popping off his flannel buttons and sending them flying! His boots finally caved as taloned feet burst out of them and his neck grew longer as his mouth changed into a beak and red feathers grew all over his head!
Finally, a huge feathered Chocobo tail burst from the seat of his overalls as the changes slowed. The last of Pheagle's flannel buttons gave way to his larger avian form, and most of his clothing fell to the ground, never to be worn again. Pheagle's boots were obliterated as his talons finished changing and growing, and he lifted one in alarm as he realized what was happening!
Pheagle had become a Chocobo - a beautiful bright red Chocobo! And even as the changes subsided and the remains of his clothing fell to the ground, Pheagle couldn't shake the thought that this wasn't the vacation he was expecting! He wanted to work WITH Chocobos, not AS one! But perhaps everything would work out and the farmers would treat him right? Pheagle let out a nervous "WARK!" as he realized this was about where every one of those unsolved missing persons he'd heard about on the news had disappeared! Hopefully things would be different this time!
