"writing": "\tAs he was lurking through the trees Pendragon occasionally looked down, ensuring his team was still with him on the ground. They must be getting close, he thought; I wonder how big this trap could actually be. Pendragon stopped a moment and watched his team go ahead, his plan was to let them play bait for a while so that he could get the upper hand on any would-be ambushers. Just then, a ball of lightning whirled out of the distance. Pendragon, knowing it must be a message from his higher ups, struck it with his fist as it closed the distance. Quietly, the message began to play.\n\n “Team, we’ve just updated your mission. Now along with destroying the catapult teams, you are to rescue the captured civilians. Command out.”\n\n \tPendragon brought this to the attention of the Miwan leader of Gryphon and noticed that they had been sitting at the edge of the clearing the whole time.\n\n“Eyes on several of the civilians, two adults and the rest are children,” Piped up one of the team members, “The two adults appear to be with the church or orphanage.”\n\n“Hopefully they’ll be alright,” mentioned Pendragon, “we need some time to set up a firing position.”\n\n“Negative, we need to move now; it looks like they’re getting ready to leave.” \n\n“Fine, we can use a direct assault, go ahead and start the attack. I’ll need just a minute to get ready. Hurry to rescue the civilians first.”\n\n \tThe Miwan nodded to each other and they rushed from the bushes brandishing both sword and pistol. Meanwhile, Pendragon crouched on the ground and began reciting an incantation in his mind.\n\nImmortal wings,\nyour fire jumps and springs.\nPride you hold,\nyou now unfold.\nYour goal:\n\n \tNow here was the tricky part, for the spell to work, he had to have a clearly defined goal. He looked up in time to see the team retreating into the woods with the civilians. He could still see the guard teams firing at them and the catapult teams reloading.\n\nYour goal:\nDestroy the enemy before me!\n\n \tBright red flames enveloped Pendragon, burning away the fur on his arms and legs, revealing bright red scales. His claws and fangs elongated almost two inches and his wings grew to be proportional to his body size, that is; to be as tall as he is. He grew to nearly seven feet tall and with that the transformation was complete, now more dragon than he is wolf, Pendragon took to the skies. Pausing above the forest, he could see men starting to run and others taking aim. Pendragon new the spell would only last so long before he was grounded and then he’d only be able to keep the form for maybe five minutes.\n\n \tSwooping down, he strafed the first catapult with a breath of fire and it became a bonfire lighting the whole battlefield. Pendragon took notice of how closely the catapults were together, the fire should spread by itself, however he lit the other end as well, leaving the catapult in the center to be incinerated in due time. The men on the ground were firing on him as fast as they could, however they all missed, some closer than others. Next, Pendragon target the fleeing men; swooping down he picked them up two at a time and carried them into the sky only to throw them into the conflagration of the burning catapult. Several men, however, had already escaped into the forest.\n\n-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\n\n \tFinally the spell was ready; I looked up and peered at the demon overhead. My team’s fire is nothing to be fooled about with and we have summoned quite the arsenal, I thought. Orbs of bright flame floated above our heads and we ready to be fired on my command.\n\n“Fire,” I shouted, “Do not let the demon survive!”\n\n \tA shower of fire burst into the sky, surely none could survive this, not even the spawn of Sucas before us. Orb after orb of fire shot towards our target, to the point where I could not even detect its presence.\n\n“Hold,” I exclaimed, “I believe it has fallen!”\nThe men shouted with great rejoice and our eyes turned upon the ground, yet there were not body, nor charred remains.\n\n---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\n\n \tI lifted the mages into the sky as they kicked and screamed. One shouted “Put us down you hells’ spawn!” and I gladly obliged. The four mages plummeted towards the ground and the screaming stopped. By now, I noticed the final catapult had caught fire, both objectives were complete, and I felt my wings growing tired.\n\n \tSlowly I fell from the sky, just as a large group of men where crowding around with landing zone with spear and blade alike. With a final push of my wings, I launched myself from the crowd of death to a safer spot.\n\n \tAs I landed, I turned to see about a dozen angry survivors rushing towards me, some firing rifles and pistols, all missing. I assumed a fighting stance and waited from the mob to close, and when they were close enough, I spouted a wall of flame in their path. The men stumbled in confusion but quickly regained their wits, flanking around the edges of the flame to attack. The first dozen or so attacked on my right side, the first was a spearman. He thrusted his weapon towards me and I gladly accepted the gift, knocking him aside into the fire. Several of his friends followed his fate into the flames with quick parries and grapples. The last man on the right offered to hold my new spear, so I jammed it into a space where he couldn’t let go of it, his ribcage.\n\n \tThe men held off of attacking for a moment, watching in horror as their friends slowly burned to death in the field. As I turned I lashed with my tail, sending two or three men into the fire. The last two attackers stood there, unable to move. I could see that their minds were filled with terror.\n\n“Yokun Lokn Leie Konem,” I stated, realizing I was speaking draconic. Regardless, they fainted.\n (You look like women.)\n\n \tAs the spell faded, the fire did as well. I quickly returned to my normal, fluffy self. Cute little wings flapped against my back and the fur on my arms and legs slowly grew back. In the background the catapults crumbled as slumped to the ground.\n\n \tThe team was quickly upon me, along with the nuns saying blessings over me. The team made sure I was alright, and then the children came. Exclamations like “That was awesome!” and “You kicked some serious butt!” crowded the air and all I could do was smile. When the nuns had regained control of their flock, they were escorted back to town by the team. I watched them as they went, catching my breath. Then I realized out of the corner of my eye, a child. I look over and realized it was Athamos. He looked like he wanted to say something but couldn’t get it out. He walked over and sat next to me.\n\n \tThe clearing was beautiful, aside from the charred skeletons of war machines. It looked over the Gulf of Lumihra. It was named so because Lumihra was the goddess of Science and was represented by the moon, which, every night, descended into the waters.\n\n“Thank you for saving us Mister Pendragon,” Athamos said, “We may not have made it without you help.”\n\n“Gryphon team saved you, you should be thanking them,” I replied, “And from now on, call me Mister Daskalos. It’s my real name.”\n\n \tI reflected on the things that name meant; Theios Daskalos. Those I’ve killed, maimed and scarred, the very horror of war. However, I now believe the people of Rustheim deserve to know the true identity of their Captain of the Guard. \n\n“Let’s go Athamos; we don’t want them to think you were hurt or lost.”\n\n \tWith that, the mission was complete and Rustheim was safe for another day.\n",
