finally making progress again. This is the next on the line-up for posting, so getting it out of the sketch phase really helps justify it. Now I only need to finish 2021 creation #15 (The Princess of Everything I Love) and then I can actually start posting again (and I’ll have quite a volume to start with).\n\nDoing this was kinda mechanical. I was absolutely addicted to this idea when I first sketched it, but now, not so much. I guess I’m kinda on and off with ugliness. He’s ugly, meant to be ugly and that’s what was hot when I was into it. But now I’m like “hm, maybe he’s a bit TOO unattractive”, when that’s precisely the point, going beyond the usual aesthetic styles I go for, with that fat face and floppy flaps.\nStill, I can’t tell right now if what I did contributes to the original idea or not. I tried to recall if he’s meant to be slimy or smelly, and I don’t think so… so I only made him slightly moist since it does have some lovecraftian deep-ones inspirations, with a hint of coelacanth The coelacanth and “unappealing male” might be because of an e621 drawing I had been addicted to for a few years back then featured an old man coealacanth, though he is much more on the handsome side… and I guess now I lost connection with that anyway which can explain the current lack of interest too.\nOh god, that’s so specific people are probably gonna be able to find out which one it is. Oh well.
