A little over 4 years ago at the border between the regions of Kanto and Johto inside a Pokémon center near Mount Silver, some scientists were talking to one another about their recent discovery of the mysterious shiny Ninetales they found frozen in a cave and a week ago, a female Kangaskhan named; Dr. Julia Mayson, a male Mr. Mime; Dr. Norman Goruge, a male Hypno; Dr. Zeiroff Rougar and a male Rhyhorn; Dr. Paul Barden, they were currently discussing on if this Ninetales had anything to do with the missing meteor that landed with no sign of any meteorite in the crater, "How do you know that this Ninetales has anything to do with the missing meteorite?" Dr. Barden asked as Dr. Rougar responds, "There is something about him that I don't exactly trust.  It's too much of coincidence that we found him there frozen in that cave."  "Well, personally I believe that Silver's lucky that we found the cave, he would have died otherwise." Dr. Mayson said as Dr. Goruge looks to Mayson, "Silver?" he asked, "Well, since we found him at Mount Silver, I thought we might call him 'Silver' until we can talk to him." Mayson said as Rougar sighs a bit, "Anyways... this, Silver, has something to do with the missing meteorite." then Goruge speaks, "But Dr. Rougar, he had nothing but his clothes and an empty pouch, it's more likely that he's been there for a long time as he was frozen for maybe 2 weeks."  "By being under some snow?  I think not, I think he's been there for at least 5 days at the most." Rougar said as the others slightly sigh a bit from Rougar's stubbornness.

Nurse Joy came to them and told them that the Ninetales was awake and when they went in to check on him, the Ninetales was sitting up eating some food at the moment as Rougar then barges in and comes up to the Ninetales, "You, what did you do with the meteorite?!"  "Rougar!  Please, he just woke up." Mayson said as she comes up to the Ninetales, "I'm sorry for my colleague's rude behavior, I'm Julia Mayson, this is Norman Goruge, Paul Barden and Zeiroff Rougar, we are scientists and we found you in a cave at Mount Silver." she said as the Ninetales looks to her and lightly bowed his head, "Hello." he said as she then asked, "Where are you from and what's your name?" she asked as the Ninetales was silent as he looks down at his tray, "Don't you remember?" she asked as Goruge spoke, "Maybe he has amnesia from being frozen."  "Sounds logical, being in that state for too long does damage the brain." said Barden as Rougar grunts, walking out of the room, "Don't worry, you'll be fine.  We'll check on you later, ok, Silver?" Mayson asked while the Ninetales looks at her, "... Silver?" he asked as Mayson spoke, "Yes, until you remember your name, we'll call you 'Silver', ok?" she asked as he gently nods, "Ok... thank you." he said as she then left with the others while he continued to eat, after a short talk with Nurse Joy they headed back to the crash site to continue their research of the area with the possibly of the meteor having shattered into pieces and might find some fragments, but to no avail in their search as well as getting answers from the mysterious Ninetales; Silver.

A month goes by trying to help Silver regain his memory from time to them when at the center but one evening Rougar had enough of waiting, "I've had it!  He's hiding something and I know it, just give me 5 minutes with him, I'll make him talk one way or another!"  "Rougar, you know that you can't push someone to remember, you might damage the mind even further." Goruge said as Rougar huffs, "Who cares, as long as we get the answers we want, that's all that matters." he said as Mayson shook her head, "That's just cruel, you really want to do that?  You might kill Silver and that's murder." she said as Rougar grunts a bit then leaves to go into his room, the rest of the night the others were a lil concerned on Rougar's thinking but they couldn't do anything at the moment as it was late and they all could use a good night’s rest.  As the clock was turning 11:48pm Rougar opens his door looking around then sneaks out and makes his way to Silver's room, he looked around for a moment then to Silver as Rougar then puts his hands over Silver's head, "The others don't believe me but I'll get my answers from you, one way or another." he said beginning to use his psychic powers to read Silver's mind, Rougar's mental image flowed to a door with a sign that reads "Silver's Brain" as he reaches the handle, turns it and begins to open and as he looked inside it was bright with light then it instantly went dark, flames bursts from and covers the ground as a dark aura surrounded a shadowed figure that turns with a demonic version of Rougar's own face charging at Rougar as he then screams out loud.

Rougar opened his eyes quickly as he was on the ground against the wall breathing heavily from what he had seen not sure what to say and too afraid to move, just then Nurse Joy and the others enter the room to find Rougar there, "What happen Rougar?" Barden asked as Goruge asked, "You tried to read Silver's mind, didn't you?" at the moment Nurse Joy and Mayson were checking Silver if he was alright where he opened his eyes and sat up holding his head a lil, "Silver, are you alright?" Mayson asked as he nods a bit, "... head hurts." he said as Goruge spoke, "So you did try to read his mind, you might have damaged his brain or worse, killed him!" Mayson gently hugged Silver a bit, "Thank goodness, you’re alright, Silver." she said while Barden took Rougar out of the room with Goruge following behind with Mayson having volunteered to stay and watch over Silver for the rest of the night, it was about lunch time when they spoke with Rougar about last night, "What happened in there, Rougar?" Barden asked as Rougar was still holding his head being a lil silent, "Rougar, talk to us, you went to try and read Silver's mind, right?  Well, what happened when you did?" asked Goruge as Rougar looks to them, "... I saw... me... but darkness everywhere, fires all around and me... as a... a..." Rougar didn't know how to say it as he was looking spooked once again from thinking about it as he shivered, Barden and Goruge were not sure what to say about this and how to get any answers out of Rougar right now if he's too scared to talk what he saw inside Silver's mind, unless Goruge does so himself but was not one to pry in other's minds like that.

At this moment Mayson was on the phone giving her findings to the head of the Traveling Research and Excavation Department; otherwise known as T-R.E.D. for short, she explained that they couldn't find the meteorite or any fragments of it and the crater would be covered up soon as the storm was coming in a few days, the head of T-R.E.D. said that if there was nothing there then to move onto their next assignment that he will send and they'll get in 2 days, she understood and would tell the others to start packing up from the site as soon as possible before the storm kicks up.  Mayson goes and sits down with the others, "Everyone, I just finished giving our report to our boss; he's said to start packing up before the storm hits in a few days.  He's sending us out next assignment to this center, we should have it in 2 days." she said as Rougar looks at her, "What?!  We're leaving?!  We still haven't gotten any answers from that Ninetales!"  "To me it's clear he has no memories about himself or the past and especially has nothing to do with the meteorite, so let it go Rougar." Goruge said as Barden nods, "I agree, we have no prove he's involved in any way with the site, so we should just pack up and leave, since the storm will cover up all our work in an hour, so we can't waste any more time here." Rougar slams the table, "Damn you all!  You can't see it but I can!  Silver is hiding something from us and I want to know what it is!" Rougar said as he gave them a serious look.

Goruge stood up breathing out with a huff and looks to Rougar, "Alright then... go ahead, but listen you only have until we get our assignment and no more, once we leave here you forget the whole thing got it?" Goruge asked as Rougar stared for a bit as he gripped his fist, "... fine.  I'll get my answers, one way or another." Rougar then rushes off to Silver's room, Mayson stands up to stop Rougar but was stopped herself by Barden, "Barden, let me go, I don't want him to hurt Silver." she said to then Goruge spoke, "He's not going to hurt Silver... something scared him when he tried to see into his mind."  "He... saw something?" she asked, "I don't know what it was... but when asking him what happened... he was paler than usual and couldn't speak about it." he said as she looked down a lil, "Barden, let's keep looking while getting everything packet up." Goruge said as Barden and Mayson followed Goruge back to the site to continue any more research before they had to leave.  Meanwhile Rougar was standing looking at Silver from the other side of the window as Silver was eating lunch and rubbing his legs to make the strong again as by Nurse Joy's instructions, Rougar was frozen to enter and confront Silver again from what he say and was having flashes of what he saw inside Silver's mind, he wondered if that's how Silver saw him when trying to get answers about the meteor or something else entirely, he wasn't sure about it but dared not to go in and try again in case he was to see that horrible sight once more if he tried to read Silver's mind, a face that was so demonic and evil and it was his own, what did it mean when he saw it.

Two days passed as the team had packed everything up before the storm hit and they had just gotten their new assignment, but Rougar still hasn't gone in to speak with Silver and when trying his body frozen in fear and gave the excuse to himself that he would try later, Mayson goes and tells Rougar that Goruge and Barden wanted to speak with him while she stayed with Silver for a bit, "What is it that you wish to speak with me about?" he asked as Barden spoke, "We got our new assignment, we're heading to the region of Orre."  "What?!"  "You heard right, we got our new assignment and we're going to the Orre region, so pack up and forget Silver as you promised." Goruge said as Rougar shouts, "I am not leaving without some answers!!" as Goruge and Barden looked at him seriously.  Meanwhile Mayson sat in a chair and looks to Silver as he looks to her, "I hear you’re recovering well."  "Joy says, I'll be able to leave within the week." Silver said, "That's good.  I'm sorry, you haven't recovered any of your memories yet, but I'm sure you will eventually and if not, you can make new ones." she said smiling as Silver nods gently, "I'm sure I'll be fine, Dr. Mayson, but I think you for your concern." he said as she smiles then they both look at the hallway hearing Rougar shouting then Rougar enters the room and puts his palm on Silver's head to try and read his mind again, but once again Rougar sees the demonic version of his own face as he then released Silver and screams out loud, Silver falls back into bed unconscious as Mayson tries to wake Silver back up while Goruge and Barden took care of Rougar.

Nurse Joy checks on them both saying that they were fine but Rougar was going to be out for a good day or so where Goruge and the others felt it was best to leave before he wakes up, so Mayson got to say good bye to Silver as he woke up about an hour or so after the incident and they all thanked Nurse Joy for her assistance in lodgings, soon left the center and were on their way to the airport to catch a plane and head for the region of Orre where Barden spoke up, "Do you think Rougar will forget about Silver?"  "I hope so, someone as stubborn as Rougar doesn't need to be obsessive as well, it will ruin his life." Goruge said as Mayson breathes out, "I hope that Silver finds a good life for himself."  "I believe he will, he may not have looked like it but he has spirit." Goruge said, "And I think he has a strong body to survive the cold." Barden added to the comment as Mayson spoke, "... an such kind eyes." she said as they were silent for a while before Goruge spoke, "I think he'll do fine once he's fully recovered, who knows, we might see him again someday." he said as they nodded.  It was about another 20 hours before Rougar wakes up in a chair and when he sits up Barden sees him do so as Goruge explained what happened, which made Rougar mad but since he couldn't do anything he simply just kept to himself the rest of the trip to the Orre region and once there, they got themselves prepared and began travel all the way to their location through the wastelands to some old ruins from ancient times in Eclo Canyon.

It's the present day and after Konjou had tied the Sableye and Banette and placed their pins away in his pocket he stood and faced the female Kangaskhan that was smiling at him, "Hello.  It's good to see you again." she said as Rose was a lil tense feeling herself being protective but possibly being jealous while she watched, "It's good to see you again, Dr. Mayson." Konjou said bowing a bit as she giggled, "Silver, you're still the gentleman back when you first woke up.  But please dear, just call me, Julia." she said gently as Rose asked, "How do you know each other?" she asked as Konjou explained, "Dr. Mayson, I mean Julia and her team found me and took me to the Pokémon center years ago." he said as Rose remembered the story Konjou told her about when he came to her world as she breathed a sigh of relief, "Oh I see, she's just a friend then, right?" Rose asked as Julia nods, "Yes, but we're more like acquaintances." she said to then look at Konjou, "So Silver, what brings you here?"  "The same as you I'm sure, care to please fill us in, Julia?" Konjou asked as her smile faded looking down saddened at what she had to say, "Ok, let's do this elsewhere just to be sure he doesn't hear us." Julia said as Konjou picks up the Sableye and Banette, "I'll take them back to the center to be treated, I'll meet 3 later." he said as he began to walk them back to the center and before Rose could say anything Julia stopped her, "Don't worry, he'll be ok." she said as they get back into the caves and waited.

While they waited for Konjou, Rose looked to Julia and asked, "... you said to talk somewhere else so he doesn't hear us... who's he?" she asked as Julia rubbed her arm a lil, "He... is an ex-colleague of mine... Silver, knows him since he was in our team at the time."  "Wait, ex-colleague?  You mean he left, got fired or... worse?" Chase asked as Rose elbowed his side making him cough a bit, "Chase!" Rose said as Julia shook her head, "It's alright... he decided to quit the team when we were back at headquarters.  He's been distant with us for a good while, before we got to our last assignment together." she said looking down a bit breathing in deeply, "It was hard to see a valued member of the team just, up and quit like that.  The others didn't know what to think, including myself.  But I had a feeling that something happened to him back wh-" Julia was about to say when she was interrupted by seeing Konjou having just returned from his delivery of the 2 knocked out Pokémon, "Nurse Joy said that they will be out for a good while from whatever has affected, it was similar to the Elekid's but seemed much worse." Konjou said as Julia breathes out then leads them to her secret cabin hidden atop the mountain near a hidden path and gave them all some tea and cookies as she sat down herself and looks to them, "Let me start from the beginning.  It all happened soon after we were reassigned and arrived at our destination in the Orre Region." she began.

Julia began her tale about how they were relaxing at the outskirts tavern and inn with her associates and herself were eating dinner and over heard on the TV, the news report was talking about Silver and his battle against the Kanto and Johto champions and though victory was clear he forfeit and vanished into the night, but when the morning came and she tried to get Dr. Zeiroff Rougar; a Hypno, to come out of his room to come continue working at the research site but Dr. Rougar didn't respond feeling that maybe he was sick and let him stay and rest up, but each night there was a chilling laughter coming from his room that after finishing their exploration in the ruins she was left to fill out the report, giving Dr. Norman Goruge; a Mr.Mime and Dr. Paul Barden; a Rhyhorn some time to go and talk with Dr. Rougar about his absence in the last few of months from their project stuck in his room.  The 3 spoke where Rougar asked when they would return to headquarters and Goruge said it's on the way to their next assignment, Rougar smiled saying he wanted to speak with the Director as soon as possible as he began packing his things to leave the region of Orre, they took the next plane back to Kanto and Dr. Rougar was able to speak with the Director and when seeing Rougar again he was smiling and carrying his things, when asking what happened in there he simply replied, "Everyone... will feel the same fear... see the same terror that I saw.  All thanks to Silver." Julia quoted from Dr. Rougar making her finish the story.

Julia closed her eyes and sighed, "And that's the story... it seems he's doing this cause of you, Silver.  Cause of what he tried to do when reading your mind." she said as Konjou looks down a bit, "... so... he's doing this cause of me.... and what he saw." he said gently while Rose stood up quite miffed that she slammed the table, "He had no right to read his mind or anyone’s!"  "Uh, Silver... what did he see?" Chase asked slightly whispering as Rose hits Chase in the back of the head, "That's something you don't need to know either, Chase!" she said as Konjou spoke, "I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to answer that anyways." he said as they looked to him, "When he tried to read my mind... something inside me just snapped... as if my mind automatically was protecting me.  But I don't remember much else after that." he said as Julia nods, "I remember, both times he read your mind you were knocked out cold for a good couple of hours.  So it makes sense you wouldn't remember anything." Julia said as Konjou stood up, "Well, since I'm the cause of all this, I'll have to stop Dr. Rougar myself." he said as Rose looked a lil saddened, "Master... you can't... you won't do this alone!  I'll be there to help you all the way!" Rose said smiling and looking determined as Konjou smiles a bit with a nod where Julia looking at them couldn't help but smile, she was glad that Konjou had someone on his journey and even though he couldn't remember his past memories at least he was making good memories since they found him.

Julia then stood up, "Well, it's getting late and I think we all should have something to eat.  Who's hungry?" Julia asked as Chase stood up raising his hand, "I am starving!" Rose hits the back of his head again, "You're the one that all the cookies and your still hungry?!"  "Ow... yes." Rose sighs rubbing her head shaking a lil, "Chase you're such a glutton." it took a while but Julia had gathered everything as Konjou comes up to help, "It's alright, Silver, I've got it."  "It's ok, I don't mind helping." he said as he begins to add some seasonings into the pot and chopping up meat, veggies and berries, "Oh my, you certainly know your way around the kitchen.  Is... is it something you remember?" she asked as Konjou continued as he spoke, "Was just 2nd nature to me." he said gently, "I see... um, have you remembered anything in your travels?" she asked as he shook his head, "No... nothing came to me during my travels." he said as she looked down, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up."  "It is fine." he began with her looking at him, "I may not remember my past, but that doesn't define who I am right now.  So no matter who I was before, I'm still me." he said looking at her a bit as Julia smiles and nods gently, "I'm glad you've made a good life for yourself, quite a reputation with the leagues, as well as someone's heart." she said as Konjou slightly looks to Julia, "You mean, Rose.  She found me secretly training, since then she's been under my tutelage."  "I think it was fate that you both would meet, you both deserve one another." Julia said as he lightly nods a bit while continuing to cook.

After the meal was cooked, served and eaten, Konjou stayed up and went to survey and examine the place from atop the mountain and Rose not able to sleep came up to him, "... Konjou." Rose spoke as Konjou replied, "Yes, Rose?"  "What you said before... when that doctor tried to read your mind..." she started as he was continuing to stare at the area, "You want to know what happened, don't you?" he asked as she looked away a lil, "When he tried to read my mind, I did put up defenses that did stopped him from knowing the truth about me, but it turned out that when doing so, his powers opened a mental rift in his own mind, showing him a possible future that will come to pass from his own obsession, if he continued to push on trying to read my mind once again.  So... in a way it is my fault for him being how he is right now." Konjou said as Rose was a lil shocked at hearing this story that she shook her head, "... no... it was his own fault for how he is.  You’re not the one to blame for his corruption, it was his own choice in following that path, you didn't choose it for him." she said as she leans against him and gripping Konjou's arm and chest as he lightly breathes and touches her head, "... that is true... we all choose our own path, but... if I had disappeared before they found me... he wouldn't have taken this turn for the worse."  "But then... you and I... wouldn't have met... would we?" Rose asked as he lightly looks to her, "... I believe we still would have met, Rose... we would have met." he said.

Rose leaned against him softly breathing while still gripping his robe not wanting to let go as she was feeling fatigue begin to set in, but Konjou then pulled her down hiding behind a boulder where she was now laying on top of him causing her to blush and grip him a lil, Konjou quickly spoke, "Stay silent." she quickly realized that he saw something below, "... what is it?"  "An Arbok came out and he is wearing one of those pins." he said as his eyes focused down at a female Arbok with her eyes glowing a bit from the effects of the fluids in the pin, "Get the others, quick."  "Why?" Rose asked as the Arbok's eyes dart up looking up where they were but luckily Konjou made them both invisible, the Arbok didn't see them right away but was starting to head towards them as Konjou spoke, "Get going, I'll handle her." he said as Rose nods and stood up to run but the female Arbok appeared hissing at Rose, Konjou used 'Quick Atk' to stand and arm slam her in the neck on the side to then making them both go over the side, "Master!" Rose said as Konjou shouts to her, "Go now!" Konjou said as he then smacks the Arbok with 'Iron Tail' to where the Arbok grabbed his tail and tugged him to make Konjou grunt as he falls towards the ground, Konjou spins and lands safely on the ground where it then cracks under him making a crater from the power the fluid granted the Arbok; Konjou's eyes were shape and darted to look at the Arbok as she then screams with the dark aura having already formed around her as she dives down towards him like a comet.

Rose saw Konjou fall with the female Arbok as she wanted to follow but it was a high and steep jump that she then rushed back to get Chase and Julia, she quickly got the cabin opening the door quickly and shouting to them, "Master's under attack, we must help him!" Rose said as Julia got up gasping and quickly began to prepare, Chase turned on the couch, "5 more minutes." he said as Rose then grabbed him and tossed him out of the cabin, "Hurry up!" she said as Chase screamed to then hit a boulder and hits the ground, "... ow." he said before Julia and Rose ran past him and he gets up and follows after, "Hey, wait up!" he said while Rose was a bit worried on what was happening with Konjou and that super powered female Arbok.  At that moment Konjou was dodges as the female Arbok hits the ground causing a larger crater to form while he lands some distance away looking at the dust cloud, but Konjou's eyes dart to the ground as it cracks and he jumps up as the Arbok reaches and grips his ankle as he grunts, the female Arbok laughs as her hand glowing with that shadow aura was using another attack that seems to drain him, with her grip on his leg he pulled her closer and kicked her face making her let go and hit the ground hard, she grunted while trying to get back up while Konjou lands nearby as he looks to her as his foot slightly sparked from some electricity, he felt the mark on his ankle that she left from her shadow atk as he was about ready to finish this as breathes in slowly and deeply, just as the Arbok looks to him and lunges screaming with the shadow aura surrounding her for this attack to finish him off, but Konjou's reaction was too quick as she then sees his eyes glowing blue as he was using 'Psyshock' as she was then hurdled backwards spinning rapidly into the side of the cliff, the wall crumpled back making a large circle around her before she gasped and fainted from the power Konjou displayed.

Konjou breathes out as he looked at the markings she left on his ankle thinking to himself that these 'shadow atks' had some odd effects, it was like she had soot-covered hands leaving prints behind on the surface but burned deep inside draining some of his energy from the attack, his ears motion to the building as a voice speaks, "Well, well... if it isn't the famous Silver, here to grace me with his presence." he said as Konjou stood up looking at the building, "... Dr. Zeiroff Rougar, it's good to hear you are doing well."  "Hahaha, you remember me after so many years, surprising as you can't seem to remember anything before you woke up.  Speaking of which, are you ready to tell me the truth or not?" Dr. Rougar asked as Silver shook his head, "... I still have no memories before waking up." he said to where there was a loud bang against what might have been a table, "Shut up, you liar!!" he said just as Rose, Julia and Chase came out of the entrance of the cave, "Oh ho, if it isn't my ex-colleague, Dr. Julia Mayson." Dr. Rougar said as Julia stops looking at the building while Rose goes to Konjou, "Zeiroff, whatever it is you are doing, stop it now." she said as Dr. Rougar laughs, "You really think I would stop something like this?!  My creations are perfect, granting the wearer doubling if not tripling their original power, as well as giving them new unstoppable attacks that no one can stop.  This is not only a lucrative business for fools seeking more power faster, but it also helps me in knowing any negative effects it may have on the body." he laughs out loud over the speaker in an evil tone behind it.

Julia gripped her fists as she looked at the building and was about to speak but Rose shouts at him, "Hey!  We all want to be stronger but power isn't everything, you shouldn't have tried to read master's mind in the first place, so it's your damn fault for what you have become now with your crazy obsession!" she said as Konjou looks to her a bit then closed his eyes with a lil chuckle as Dr. Rougar sneered, "You have no right to talk down on me, you are weak and pathetic without my creation!"  "Wrong!  I'm stronger than I ever was, thanks to master's training and my determination to learn!  So you are the one that has no right to talk down on me, you insane lunatic!" Rose said while Julia smiled at her bravery and words while Chase grinned and gave a thumbs up, "That's my gal." he said while Konjou stepped up beside her, touching her shoulder, "You talk about true power... but you don't know what true power is.  True power... isn't about defeating one's opponent, it's when someone masters them self to their limit, even surpassing that limit when they need it the most.  That... is true power." Konjou said as Rose smiles looking at him, Dr. Rougar growls then begins to chuckle then laughs out loud making the 4 looking sternly at the building as he began to speak again, "Then I guess I'll just have to show you what MY power can do!!" he said as a wall was opening to show 4 Pokémon standing there with glowing eyes and the same shadow aura surrounding them as they also wore the pins; a Camerupt, a Lickitung, a Tangela and a Poliwrath all marching out ready to fight, "Let's put your power to the test against mine!" Dr. Rougar laughs maniacally as the 4 prepared for battle.
