Nearly 3 years ago in the region of Orre deep in the Eclo Canyons some scientists were excavating some ancient ruins to discover some artifacts and understand the history of the world they lived in, one scientist; a Hypno was looking around to find an old box that was nearly intact as it had dents and scratches all over and the lock had rusted away, inside was a book that the pages fell out of the binding but the Hypno kept them safe and preserved them for further study during his own time, it wasn't long when he and his colleagues were all back at an outskirts restaurant and inn for the night and someone was watching some TV at the bar, there was news of a shiny Ninetales that has made his way to challenge either the Kanto or Johto champions as he was qualified to do so with badges from both regions, the report continued to say that rather than choosing one he has chosen to battle them both at the same time and throughout the battle the Ninetales has proven to be very skilled.  Both champions were weakened to see the Ninetales about to attack with one more move but stopped and turned saying that he withdrew from the fight letting the champions keep their title, so the mysterious Ninetales left the tournament and disappeared before any news crew could get any answers on why he forfeit, the only thing they had on him was his name; 'Silver', he was indeed a mystery and quite the fighter that some believe he was like a ghost that they called the mysterious Ninetales 'Phantom Fighter Silver'.

The other pokemon in the restaurant as well as the Hypno's colleagues were amazed and talking to one another about the Ninetales, "Amazing, I wouldn't have imagined that Silver would have done so much in less than a year." a female Kangaskhan said, "He truly is one heck of a strong fighter, I knew he was a tough guy." a male Rhyhorn said while a male Mr. Mine responded, "I agree, I'm glad to see he's doing well in his journey, I wonder if he's remembered anything about his past."  "If not I think he's doing a wonderful job making a new life for himself." the Kangaskhan said as the Rhyhorn spoke, "I agree; he is one heck of a fighter maybe I'll ask to battle with him."  "From what we've witnessed you might want to train a bit better." the Mr. Mime said as they all laughed together, the Hypno scientist heard of the Ninetales he listened to the whole report and with the photo they showed of him he gripped his own fists growling as he was furious and left to go into his room, he was slams the wall as he couldn't believe at what clips was shown of that Ninetales; Silver, fighting against the 2 champions at once with such ease, he looked to his desk with the binder holding the currently preserved the pages he placed in that he found in that metal box as he was remembering certain words from it, such as 'more power', 'invincible' and 'shadow attacks' mentioned in the first page alone as he stared at it then slowly gave a creepy grin to then sit down and open it to begin reading the pages chuckling to himself the more he read.

Present day; the sun was high in the air as Rose; the busty female Houndoom was admiring her recent win at Vermilion City to now have 5 badges in the region of Kanto, Rose then looks to her mentor, trainer and master; Konjou, a blue 9-tailed Renomon but to everyone else he was the shiny Ninetales; Phantom Fighter Silver, who was at the time training Chase; a male Persian from the city of Viridian that's joined them to find out more about Silver as well as try to get Rose to fall in love with him, Chase charges on Konjou as he throws a punch as Konjou deflects it while Chase continued to throw punches and kicks, he was continuing to learn the basics that Rose did when she started training with Konjou but unlike Rose he was a little slow, as Konjou then trips and pushed Chase to the ground, "Your balance is still off and your attacks are to tense, now, again." he said as Chase grunts and stands up not wanting to give up that easily, Rose smiled a bit at Konjou still being a strict and firm but fair and caring master with Chase and was remembering times when he would be the same with her, she was determined to be a good pupil when training under Konjou that no matter what task or training session he put her through she would never give up and keep getting up, she puts her badge case away just as Konjou told Chase that was enough training for now and that it was time for lunch, Chase was breathing heavily as he was laying on his back and Rose walked up to him, "Your improving, Chase."  "Really?  It feels like I'm getting worse." he said.

Rose smiled a bit then offered a hand to help him up, "As long as you don't give up, you’re always improving some way or another, you just need to keep at it." she said as Chase smiles and takes her hand to swiftly kneeled while still holding her hand, "Oh, my dear sweet, Rose, you truly are a wonderful young woman, your hands so strong yet so soft, just the simplest touch from you give me energy to stand up again." he said about to kiss the back of her hand as Rose growls a little from Chase acting romantic to her again that she punches his head into the ground, "Try getting up from that touch!" she said as Chase grunts, "Ah... tough love... it's one that I will... endure." he said as Konjou breathed out a bit, "Sometimes, I think you might be too hard on him when you do that."  "Well, he deserves them, I'm still not over what he did to me back in Viridian City." she said as he nods, "I know, but he only did it out of love, they say that people do strange things for love... even risk their own life." he said as he almost finished making their meal as Rose looked to him hearing that last part and looked down a bit, "Did... did you risk your life for someone?" she asked looking away a bit, "... no...  But someone I knew did.  She died to save my life, even though I would have been fine, she still did it cause of how she felt about me." he said as Rose lightly rubbed her arm a little turning away a bit, "... I'm sorry for asking." she said to then feel Konjou's paw on her shoulder, "Don't be, it was a hard experience to witness.  But it's made me more careful to keep others safe from danger." he said smiling gently as she looks to him and smiles gently back.

Konjou continued to fixing up some simple sandwiches before serving them as Chase was sitting at the table and Rose brought some juice for them to drink, they were enjoying themselves as the wind softly blew but when Konjou was about to take a bite into his 2nd sandwich he froze and eyes became focused with ears listening as he heard something, there was some sounds of fighting carried in the air letting him know it was a ways off but it was getting closer, the sounds he was hearing matched what he was feeling from one of the pokemon that was a sense of blood lust but also the feeling of a void inside them, Konjou quickly set his sandwich down and stood to face the direction of the fight as Rose and Chase looked to him, "Master, is something wrong?" Rose asked and no sooner that said did a male Donphan bursts out from the trees to crash and tumble along the ground to a stop looking quite hurt and in pain.  Rose quickly went to them to check if their alright but then a male Elekid jumped out roaring as he dives down about to deal the finishing blow on the fallen pokemon, Konjou dashed and appeared before the Elekid as he uses 'Protect' to defend the Donphan and Rose but the Elekid then gave an soulless grin, Konjou seeing this grin could tell that this pokemon was wanting more resistance as he uses a dark colored electric bolt as it fires at Konjou's barrier as it stops it but shatters it as well, "That was no ordinary attack... and that energy..." he thought to himself.

The Elekid lands and launches himself towards Konjou making an aura of dark energy surround his body still giving that soulless grin, Konjou braced himself as he then thrusts his palms to catch and divert the Elekid's attack away from Rose and the Donphan to crash into the hillside with a loud grunt as the Elekid tumbled to the ground, Chase was just amazed that Konjou that he still knew as 'Silver' could change the Elekid's course like that while Rose smiled at Konjou's strength and ingenuity, Konjou focused on the unconscious Elekid as he began to walk towards it, "Chase, grab a super potion for the Donphan."  "Uh, right." Chase said getting to the pack and taking out a Super Potion to spray on the Donphan's wounds while Konjou stood over the Elekid and leaned down to touch his arm, Konjou couldn't feel anything but an empty darkness throughout the Elekid's body like there was no soul in this body, he began to focus and with a grip on the arm the body filled with the Elekid's soul once again as if having pulled it out of the dark, the Elekid grunts a little and opened his eyes to look at Konjou, "... what... what happened?"  "Relax, you'll be fine now." Konjou said as the Elekid fainted from exhaustion while Konjou then picks up the Elekid and stands, "Rose, Chase, pack up we're heading to a pokemon center." he said as they gathered their things and headed to the pokemon center about a mile from their location and got the 2 into the emergency room.

The trio sat down and were able to finish their lunch when Chase spoke up, "Silver, what was that exactly?" he asked while they remembered the dark colored lightning and aura that the Elekid used in his attacks, "It's no attack I've ever seen." Chase said as Rose added, "Yeah... but it looked like any normal electric and tackling attack but more... menacing." she said as Konjou breathes out a little, "... I can't answer exactly what he used but I can say what I experienced at that moment." he said as he was remembering him using 'Protect' and redirecting that rush attack that the Elekid used, "My barrier shattered from the electricity which made it stronger than usual and when diverting him, I felt something and yet nothing." Konjou said, "Wait, what?" Chase asked as he Konjou continues, "Let me put it this way, when attacking, do you fight with your heart and soul?" he asked as Chase thinks a bit, "I... I think so, I never thought about it that way, but I think I do."  "I know I do, it's one of the things you taught me." Rose said as Konjou continued, "Exactly, but when that Elekid attacked... I didn't feel anything from him, like he didn't have a soul to begin with." Chase and Rose gasped a bit, "He is living, but those attacks made him appear like a machine without remorse, like he didn't have a soul not even a heart." Konjou said.

Rose hugged herself shivering a bit on the thought of being a heartless and soulless fighter, "That sounds horrible."  "So... what's causing that to happen?" Chase asked as Konjou shook his head, "I can't say for certain... but I know that while redirecting his attack, it felt like he was suffering and wanting to be freed." he said while Nurse Joy came and told them that the Donphan will be alright in a few hours though the Elekid seems to have a fever and will be out for possibly a week, Rose breathes out a little relieved but concerned about the whole ordeal while Konjou requested to see the Elekid for a moment, Chase lightly puts an arm around Rose's shoulder, "Do not fear, my dear Rose, I'm here to comfort and protect you from your troubles." he said as Rose growls a little then punches his face causing him to fly out the chair and thud on the floor behind it, "She sure can... blow me out of my seat." he said and faints as she looked to Chase for a moment then looks to Konjou and soon joins him wondering what he's going to do when seeing the Elekid, they both get into the Elekid's room where he was resting and Nurse Joy left to take care of Chase and Konjou took this chance as he lightly placed his finger on Elekid's forehead, Rose watched and asked, "What are you doing?"  "I'm going to see if he can tell us what happened." he said as Rose was a little confused, "How can he talk to us?" she asked, "You'll see." he said as he closed his eyes for a moment.

Konjou's finger glows a little as he then speaks, "Start back from the beginning, tell us what happened today?" he said as the Elekid grunts a little then begins to speak, "I... I was walking... with my friend, David."  "The Donphan?" Konjou asked, "Yes." the Elekid said to where he was continuing his story, David the Donphan and Markey the Elekid were together training in the rocky area less than a mile from the center, during their training Markey was tired of being weak and asked how long it would take for him to be as strong as David where he replied that it would take time, Markey was so frustrated that he ran off and was by the lake tossing some rocks that skipped along the lakes surface all the while he was saying he wished he was stronger that he was right now, he wanted to be strong right away and not have to worry about being weak against anything but then was wondering if he shouldn't have yelled as his friend like that, a voice spoke from behind, "You want to be stronger now?"  "Huh?!  Uh, yeah, who are you?" Markey asked as the cloaked figure spoke, "I am a friend that can make your wish come true.  Just come with me and you'll be able to fight anyone." he said as Markey hesitated a little then followed the figure, Markey was sweating a bit and breathing heavily as Konjou took his finger off his head and Rose looked a little concerned, "Is he going to be ok?"  "He'll be fine.  Whatever happened after that seems to have been wiped from his memory, so he can't tell us much more than what he's shared already." he said as Rose nods gently and they both head out of the room to let Markey rest and recover.

Konjou was thinking deeply to himself as Rose looked to him curious on what he was thinking, "... Konjou?  You ok?"  "I'm fine... just thinking on what could cause him to forget that much and where that person took him." Konjou said as she looked down a bit unsure on what to say but Konjou speaks, "I'll have to go and investigate this."  "I'm coming with you." Rose said as Konjou looks to her, "I think you should wait here, who knows who else has that kind of power." he suggested but Rose shook her head, "No way, I'm coming with you, master, I'm not going to let you do this alone." she said looking at him with a determination to stick by and help him when needed, Konjou breathes in and out a little sigh, "... very well, you may come." Konjou said as rose smiled then Chase appear behind Rose, "Where ever my girl goes I go." he said as Rose being ever alert turns quickly and punches his stomach, "Haven't you ever heard to not sneak up on people?  It's very rude." Rose said, "Aah... she really... takes my breath away." Chase said then falls to the floor, Konjou shook his head a bit, "Alright then, let's go." he said heading out the center with Rose right behind and Chase slightly stumbling from the punch in his gut to catch his breath once again, it took them about 20 minutes to reach the rocky area where Markey was talking about and they began their search but mostly found what seemed to been the fight of Markey’s new found power, they continued on a bit further to reach the lake where Markey sat at before that mysterious pokemon appeared before him and offered him more power.

Konjou and Rose looked around a bit for any clues while Chase was sitting on a rock, "Hmm... we've been at this for hours, don't you think we should head back?" Chase asked as Rose looks to him, "Chase, you can head back if you want, master and I will continue our search." she said as Chase then takes her hand, "I would never leave my woman behind, especially if your life happens to be in terrible danger, I will risk my life to save you no matter what happens to you, my dear sweet, lovely Rose." Chase said as Rose looks to him, "Aw, Chase.  That's sweet." she said then punches his face making him slam the ground, "But you still don't have a right to touch me.  Now get up and help us look for any clues." she said as Chase chuckles a little coughing a bit, "Oh yeah... she's warming up to me.  Ow." he said and begins to pick himself up again, Konjou at the time was sensing where Markey the Elekid was and walked to where the trail ended behind a boulder that was broke in half, he kneels and touches a piece of stone from the boulder to feel a small residue of the same energy that Markey the Elekid used against him in their short fight, Rose walked up to Konjou, "I haven't found much of anything, master, have you?" she asked as he shook his head, "Not much to go on but I can sense a little of what Markey used on this boulder, possibly testing his power before heading out to fight his friend, then soon ran into us.  So this was earlier today that it happened." he said as he puts the rock down before standing up and examining the area.

Konjou's ears perked and eyes dart to the side as he grabs Rose getting her out of the way as a dark aura crashes into the rest of the boulder like a meteor falling from the sky, Konjou skids to a stop as he stop before the now formed crater where the boulder was and could see the figure of the pokemon beginning to stand up, Rose looks to Konjou, "Master, what was that?"  "It's another using that same power, stay back." he said as his eyes were fierce as she nods and moves out of the way while the cloud cleared to show a Pinsir with similar soulless eyes, "Tell me... where did you get that power?" Konjou asked as the Pinsir roars out then dashes with its pincers covered in the dark aura as Konjou breathes then grabs the pincers holding them apart from crushing him, the power of its attack pushes him backward a good 10 feet pushing into the ground 3 inches as Konjou then lifts him in the air then uses 'Fire Spin' as the Pinsir grunts from the attack, Konjou then jumps backwards, flipping and twisting around to then slam the Pinsir into the river to stop the fire as well as slamming him into the ground before then dragging the Pinsir out that was currently unconscious.  Rose cheered for Konjou's victory as Chase slightly looked away a bit acting cool, "Yeah, he's lucky I wasn't there, he would have really felt some serious pain then." he said as Rose then punches his arm and makes him fall into the river, "Cool off, trainee, you couldn't come close to master's performance." Rose said as Chase splashes a little then sits up and spit out a little water.

Rose walked up to Konjou as he was examining the Pinsir to reveal a small oval shaped pin with some liquid inside that was almost empty, Konjou reaches in his own pocket to pull out the same examining that the other was bigger from the one he has in his hand, the smaller one appears to be a sample while the Pinsir's is the actual device making him a possible long time user as Rose and Chase come up, "What is that?" Chase asked as Konjou shook his head a bit, "I don't know, but it's the same as the one the Elekid had but bigger."  "You got the other from the Elekid, when?" Rose asked, "I didn't see it right away, but when we’re getting to the center that's when I saw it, I took it out before we got inside.  I think these, as well as what it contains them inside, might be what gave these 2 their power boost... but with some big negative side-effects." Konjou said as he stood up, "Come on, let's hide."  "What?" Chase asked as Rose added, "Why are we hiding, master?" she asked as they hide before some bushes, "We're going to follow him to the source if he remembers anything." Konjou said as Chase speaks, "And what if he doesn't?" he asked as Konjou covered his mouth as the Pinsir stood up a little disoriented as he looked at the oval shape pin as he grunts, "Damn... I'm running out, I need more." he said looking around, "Where are the others?" he asked as he stood up grunting a little from a headache, "Ugh, forget it, I need to get back and get more." he said standing up and began to walk off the trail.

Konjou motioned to them to be silent and to wait here while then beginning to follow the Pinsir staying out of sight while Chase and Rose were left alone, Chase seeing this as an opportunity scoots in to then reach but Rose elbows his chest making him grunt and fall to the side, "Come on, pervy Persian, let's go." she said standing up and beginning to follow Konjou from a distance but enough to see him, "That spirit of hers... really hurts, but... she is worth it." he said as he then stood up and began to follow Rose, the Pinsir was stumbling a little as the container was nearly empty but he does reach an old cave as he looks around to see if anyone was watching then he enters, Konjou sees the Pinsir enter to then follow behind keeping out of sight still as Rose and Chase were following Konjou as Chase spoke, "Are you sure we should be following him?  I mean, he is the great Silver, I'm sure he can handle this himself."  "I'm not leaving him to do this alone, you can go back if you want but I'm not." she said as she continued on to the cave and into it as Chase sighs, "Man, that girl is one fierce and loyal babe, that Silver is lucky to have her, but I will have her heart someday and she'll forever be mine.  Wait for me, my dear Rose!" he said following Rose into the cave as they were going deeper while looking around to keep out of sight of anyone else than may be watching them, but it wasn't long before they find light at the end of the tunnel as they get closer the 2 of them see the open sky as if inside a volcano and a building in the middle that was a medium-sized laboratory type mansion.

Rose and Chase looked at the building a bit amazed that one was hidden away here, "Wow, that's one heck of a hideout, don't you think so, Rose?  Rose?" he asked turning to face her as she was sneaking behind some rocks and boulders as he sighs following behind her, "Do we really need to keep sneaking around?  It's not like there is any security here.  As far as we know the-"  "Quiet!" she said in a shouted whisper, "There is a time to talk and a time to be quiet.  This is quiet time." she said to turn and face a Sableye wearing that same oval shaped pin on its chest near it's gem, at that time a Banette appeared behind Chase with the pin on its chest as well as they laughed as dark aura surrounded their hands and thrust out to freeze Rose and Chase in place, Rose was trying to break free but to no avail as they look at their captors as Rose looked at them she could see that their eyes were soulless just like Konjou had said, no remorse like machines as they grab onto them and lifts them up and began carrying them to the building as Chase was pleading to them to let them go, "Hey buddy, let us go will you?  I can pay you whatever you want, just please let us go!"  "Chase give it up, they aren't themselves right now we just need to break free from this!" she said as she was using all her strength to break out of the barrier that holds her bound from moving but it was much stronger than she thought, she was hoping to help Konjou in this fight but she didn't know what to do in face of such power as this that was unknown and new to her.

Rose at that moment was wishing she was stronger than the dark powers that these pokemon were wielding and was beginning to hope that Konjou would save them, but from behind came some running to where the Sableye was hit with a 'Fire Punch' and Banette was hit with an 'Ice Punch' causing them to release Chase and Rose, the 2 were released from the hold that those pokemon used on them as Rose and Chase stood up and she was ready to fight, but before taking action the Banette was charging at them with his dark aura similar to what the Elekid used that Rose froze not sure how to stop him, Rose closed her eyes and held her arms ready to defend herself but the next thing she heard was some grunts and skids across the ground just like before with the Pinsir, when Rose looked she sees Konjou before her deflecting the Banette's just inches to make him crash into the wall as Konjou then summoned swirled the air and attacks the Banette with 'Ominous Wind', as the Banette was resisting Konjou's attack the liquid in the pin was decreasing faster until it was empty and the Banette collapses to the ground exhausted, while the female Kangaskhan was striking the Sableye with a flurry of 'Ice and Fire Punches' as the Sableye laughs and uses the same hold on her as she grunts, Konjou dives from above and strikes the Sableye with a Fairy type 'Hidden Power' into the wall near the Banette as they both were now unconscious.

The female Kangaskhan was able to move again and breathed out relieved to be free while Konjou was tying up the 2 pokemon as Rose walks up to the female Kangaskhan, "Thank you for saving us, ma'am."  "It was my pleasure." she said as Chase commented, "Indeed, you truly have won our gratitude in such a heroic fashion for a lovely lady as yourself, we can never repay for your assistance in defeating those ruthless beasts." Chase said as Rose moves up to then hit Chase in the head, "Enough of your pick up lines, you pervy Persian.  I apologize for his behavior, ma'am." Rose said as the female Kangaskhan shook her head, "It's quite alright, I'm just glad you weren't taken into that place." she said as then looks at Konjou for a moment smiling and when Rose saw the smile and looked to Konjou she wondered if they knew each other, once the Sableye and Banette were tied up Konjou removed the pins from them and put them away in his pocket with the other, "They won't be needing these anymore.  Just need to figure out how to destroy them." he said to himself as he turns to look at the female Kangaskhan that walked up to him, "Hello.  It's good to see you again." she said gently moving her hair a little to the side away from her eyes smiling gently, at that moment Rose felt strange inside as if being threatened by the female Kangaskhan then wondered if she was feeling over protective or maybe even jealous.
