His father is famed egyptologist Philippe LaLouf, who gave him his ankh necklace which was found on one of his expeditions. The necklace, unbeknownst to anyone, contains Maumet, the Egyptian cat god of hedonism, who merges with him when called upon to become the superhero, Wildcat. Felix is a nice young man, slightly aloof but generous, polite, and the object of affection for a lot of girls at his posh private school. He himself doesn't really pursue girls despite having his own crushes here and there, he's more the studious academic type. Whenever he sees the need for superheroics, he slips off somewhere and activates his pendant to transform, trying very hard to keep his dual identity a secret from everyone. Maumet, who usually only exists as a voice in Felix's head is, despite his flaws, a nice person. he cares about Felix very much and offers him advice when he can, some of which is even useful. He's a perky, eager being who loves anything that feels good, and frequently asks Felix to 'tag him in' even if there's no need for his powers, just so he could go partying or anything else he might try to do on his own.Whereas Felix is straight as an arrow, Maumet is gayer than a rainbow unicorn and raucous ass sex is one of his favorite pursuits. While normal, Felix has full control of his body, and although Maumet is aware of what's going on around him, he can do nothing but telepathically speak to Felix. While transformed, Maumet has full control of his body and Felix effectively goes to sleep for an hour. In this state he has claws that shred steel, greatly improved strength and agility, and is effectively indestructible as well as immune to mental powers. The transformation can only be done once a day, and only lasts for exactly one hour, whereupon it ends instantly, and cannot be turned off before then. Since superheroics rarely take an hour, Maumet will often get distracted afterward and see to get it on with the first male he meets who seems remotely interested, much to Felix's dismay when he wakes up next to another man in bed shortly afterwards. As for why he doesn't just ditch the amulet, Felix is enamored with being a superhero, and despite the often annoying Maumet sharing his body, he enjoys doing good and saving people, even if it all feels like a dream to him each time. He and Maumet bicker a lot, but both care for one another at heart and both would be lonely if he took the amulet off and shut the cat god out of his head. Even if Maumet is virtually guaranteed to misuse his body every time he borrows it. On quiet nights if Felix needs the extra sleep, he even sometimes loans his body out to the god if he promises to behave; Felix doesn't mind the god doing some midnight partying with his body once in a while, just so long as he keeps things (and people) out of his butt.
