Before he knew it, he was wearing something resembling a 20th century three-piece suit. "Unbelievable..." He touched the 'clothes,' feeling only his old ones underneath. Holograms were not a new trick to him anymore, but the normal ones he was used to had a certain visual quality to them that he could suss out as being false. This, however, was an illusion so good that it produced within him sensory discontinuity upon touch. "Show me another!" "You can do it yourself," Carrie said helpfully, punching in a few commands on his PET. "Just grab what you want, and when you wanna try it on, drag it on yourself." She smirked as he quickly became amused putting different outfits on at a gesture. "Oh I just can't wait to dress you up fabulously, Jacent!" Sam nearly sang, collecting outfits as she went. "There are so many choices and pieces and- egads! What are those?!" Jace looked up at Samantha with a doofy grin, brandishing the holographic representation of a set of clothes that looked fit for a high fantasy set in space. "Aren't they cool??" He swiped to another set of gaudy retro-future clothing. "I found them in the back!" She grimaced. "Oh dear, Jacent, you're not... are you telling me you like the Star Fantasia style?" He nodded enthusiastically. "Now this feels like I'm finally living in the Future! I want to wear these to school!" Samantha's eyes widened as her pupils shrunk to pinpoints. "I can't buy you that." He tilted his head, confused. "Why not?" "Uhm... erh, ah..." The bat's forehead sweat as her mind raced. "Th-... They're so expensive, you see!" "Oh, really?" He frowned, disappointed. "I guess that makes sense, they're very cool." Sam immediately regretted fibbing to him, but Star Fantasia was the clothing choice of her parents' generation, a time when everyone was obsessed with space and thought for sure they'd live on another planet soon. It was an embarrassing relic of a silly obsession; she couldn't stand the thought of subjecting him to the potential ridicule! "Don't worry, Jacent!" Carrie grinned goadingly at Sam. "I'll buy it for you!" She absorbed the bat's death glare with glee. "Oh! Really??" he asked, hopeful. "Of cooourse!" The cat motioned graciously. "It would be my privilege to buy you the clothes that you want. Pick out as many as you like!" "Wow! That's great!" Jacent picked up the cat in a big bear hug. "You're the best, Carrie! Thank you!"
