This is Krin, my actual fursona, this time.
TL;DR: I have a new fursona, his name is Krin. Krin is a caracal/ocelot hybrid, which I will call a Caracalot. Nir never was my real fursona, so now I've made one to represent me as the person behind the account and characters. I'm saying this officially, Nir is an OC, not my fursona, so please do not try to compare a fictional character to your perception of how you think I am as a person irl. Just making that note clear.
I'm sure eyebrows are quirking at, "What do you mean "Actual fursona"?? I thought Nir was your fursona!"
Weeeeeeellllllllllllllll....... Yeaaaaaaaah? Technically, but not really?
Lemme explain. From day 1, I never really considered Nir as my "furry representation of myself" per se, but he was associated as such, only by default, since I just kinda stuck with him and he became my cutesy poster boy for my account in the fandom.
I did eventually try to adapt him as my fursona, but he waasn't honestly representing me, as a person irl, so when I tried making changes to his character, not only did my fans of the OC himself tell me how Nir should be as a character, but deep down, I did feel like it wasn't really fair to change Nir based on my personality irl, when he didn't start out that way, so I changed him back to the way he was, but with a revised design, however I felt he was a bit flat, personality-wise, so I conceived a more flushed out personality for him, that was true to his original character that people liked (Just with some upgrades).
I only made Krin, for 2 main reasons.
1) An actual fursona to represent the creator, just in case if I ever need to say something personally OOC, Krin will be my go-to guy to do so (Outside of joke pictures and whatnot), and also I have a personal character to pair up with my BF's fursona. I don't have any plans to involve Krin in any major storylines, or major artwork. Nir, Tyler, Mylo, and Moxie are my main OCs I'll be getting art of from now on. Krin will more than likely appear with my BF's fursona, and/or just be a random cameo from time to time.
2) People were getting waaaaaay too personal with their presumptions about what I'm like irl, and honestly, after 6-7 years of that, I kinda got fed up with it. I wasn't trying to make a big deal out of people liking my character, but they just naturally presumed he was my fursona (Which I don't blame them. I didn't just flat out say in big bold red letters that he wasn't my fursona.) and thus automatically presumed I was some flamboyant girly boy who goes around fucking people left and right.
The comment that was the final straw on my back was someone leaving a comment on one of my submissions basically literally saying, "I hope to meet you at a con someday, so I can fuck you to see if you live up to the hype."
Hype... Hype?! What? Of me getting porn of my fictional character?!
So after that, I had it. I wanted to make it crystal clear that Nir is, in fact, a made up character in my imagination, who just happened to be my poster boy, in which, I use for adult-oriented artwork, because I enjoy naughty art.
There, now it's set in stone. Nir is officially having no ties with me whatsoever, and he's standing alone as his independent OC with the rest of my cast. They are completely made up and their personalities and/or beliefs do not relate to my own personally.
Now with that said, I'll develop an official character sheet for Krin, with info about his background, interests, personality, etc. But literally he's based off of just me irl, so shouldn't be too hard to scrounge up. X3
Sorry if this came off as ranty, but I just wanted to make sure everyone understands the line in the sand. I hated having to do something like this, but alooooooooooooooooot of people seemed to have been confused on the ambiguity of Nir compared to me, so I just wanted to clear the air a bit, so there won't be any room for confusion anymore.
