He provided Crys support by allowing her to grasp his paws for comfort as the contractions came, the twins inside her womb starting to push their way into the world. After hours of breathing exercises and bearing down, Yukina's head appeared, and then her body followed. Crys was under the effects of as many painkillers as her little body could handle, but she still felt every motion and the intense stretching that her daughter was causing on her way out. Crys wasn't done with her labor yet, though. Little Arehna still had to make her first appearance. Many more hours ensued and the painkillers were starting to wear off a little. Putting any more in Crys would be dangerous, so she had to endure. Nero gave his daughter encouragement and finally Arehna's head appeared. Yukina had already calmed down from her ordeal and was wrapped in a swaddling cloth while her twin sister bawled and mewled her existence in the world. Nero gave further encouragement and Crys bared down harder to push the rest of Arehna's body out of her birth canal. With one final push, the second cub was finally free and a blanket was procured for her immediately while Crys started getting her fluids replenished. Her breathing was heavy and labored but her vitals held strong. She looked up at her daddy and smiled, then closed her eyes and fell asleep. Nero never left his little girl's side and when she woke up, she had both of her newborn girls snuggled up next to her as they were proclaimed healthy and without complications.
The doctor remarked about how well Crys had handled this despite her tender age. He was sworn to secrecy on the nature of the twins' birth, but he definitely could not hide his interest in finding out what allowed Crys to handle the pregnancy and birth so well. Laylah, the grandmother, knew that it was thanks to her side of the family that Crys had a relatively smooth pregnancy and birthing process.
The entire Makai family, two members stronger now, were released after obtaining the confirmation that Yukina and Arehna were both in perfect health. Laylah helped give the twins their first meal with her developed adult breasts while Crys gave her first breastfeeding a try.
