  "description": "Mutual Marathon #16 for @portzebie\n\nBuckle in for some SAP... Imagine it's the year 2008... You're 18, and you've just started getting the hang of drawing digitally on a tablet you got for your birthday. It was a cheap tablet without a screen, so you had to get used to drawing in your lap while looking up at the monitor... you've also been drawing anthros with a bit more confidence from 2007 to 2008, and in this year, you join a website called [s]FurAffinity[/s] where there are others that like to draw anthro art just like you!\n\nNearly halfway through the year, you are invited to an OpenCanvas session by an artist you admire that followed you back one day, and was one of your earliest connections on this new website... Through him you are introduced to a few others as well, and it's sort of a catch-22... you can't help but see his art and feel... inadequate. His art and his grasp of working digitally is so cool, and yours is... lame by comparison.\n\nYour linework is terrible, your anatomy needs a ton of help... but despite all of that, you have fun. Session after session you can't believe you're a part of the group, and through it all you make friends and get some practice...\n\nI think Portz was my first 'online mutual' where art is concerned... like I said, I was starting to draw anthro more even before joining FA, and before meeting him, so I don't think it's fair to say something like \"I wouldn't be here now if it weren't for him\" as I think I was always on this path... but I think Portz sped it along. Whether or not he knew it, he pushed me to be better. I tried to emulate what he was doing. It seemed so effortless for him, and I looked up to him for years. \nAs tends to happen in life, the years go by and along with that life comes along and you just sort of... drift apart. Not to anyone's fault, things just get in the way and you move on to do other things...\n\n...But i've never forgotten those feelings.
