      Just then, the distant rumbling of thunder could be heard. A low rolling sound that slowly filled the valley and forest with its clear warning: get inside, for rain is on its way.
      "Well, that's as good a dinner call as I've ever known," said Neill. "What do you say, girls? Shall we have a shower and a nice hot bowl of soup and some biscuits?"
      Sunny and Flavia nodded eagerly and the three picked up their gardening tools and walked across the forest clearing, following the forest path down the stream and finally arriving at Neill's den, which was behind a waterfall.       "Why don't you girls get started with the shower?" said Neill. "I'll put the soup over low heat so it'll be ready for us when we're all cleaned up."
