During those 2 years of being captive he hadn’t been allowed to move much so he really hadn’t had any chances to form bond with his new mutated form.\n\nDarkness of sleepless city gave him lots of places to hide and run away from his enemies who finally decided to pull away from the chase. Panting hard Raphael landed heavily with loud thud on snow covered roof. His legs were trembling and lungs screamed for air but he wanted to stay on the move. Being seen would lead in another chance of getting captured by police, The Foot or Bishop and Raphael really didn’t want to see any from Foot or Bishop… Looking at his huge mutated hand made growl escape from his throat. It was the Foot and Bishop’s work overall that he now was this… This… Mutated monster!\n\nSlowly gathering control of his rested feet Raphael stood up and ran forward with slower pace, jumping from roof to roof until familiar laugh echoed through the sky to his ears. Starting to head towards the laugh he reached the edge of the roof and his eyes locked on one open window and small balcony in front of it. It all looked so familiar and happy chatting sounds filled the city air. Kneeling down Raphael saw shadows moving in the apartment until human woman with red hair came to the window.\n\n“...A.. April...” Was a silent whisper what Raphael needed to whisper to himself. Sudden happiness and sadness filled his heart and brought tears in his eyes. How much he had been missing her and even more how badly he wanted to go to her, hug her and tell her how happy he was to see her. Another figure soon came next to her and Raph gasped silently.\n\n“Casey...”\n\nIt was like Casey had heard him since his head turned to Raphael’s direction but he couldn’t see him.\n\n“Is something wrong, Casey?”\n\n“N-njah, it’s nothing, babe. Let’s go back inside.”\n\nRaphael’s eyes followed his human friends every move when they went back inside. Sitting down Raph sighed deeply. He wanted to go there and see his friends but with his new look… He would freak April and Casey would be beating him with his baseball bats. Sudden sound from near by roofs made Raphael alert as he bend down as much as possible in the shadows, seeing 4 figures coming on the roof of April’s building, slowly making their ways on the balcony and in her apartment.\n\nHis brothers and Master Splinter. Looking around Raphael realized why they were there. Christmas day. They all had spend Christmas together for few years now but there was no room for him anymore. With sad eyes he witnessed how they all smiled to each other, ate and chatted happily. Like if he had never exist. Part of him told him to leave and go find a place where to stay but another part encouraged him to go on the balcony and listen.\n\nSilently he stood and jumped next roof, making his way all so silently on April’s balcony behind, now, the closed window. Peeking behind the edge he saw all those lovely faces so clearly, warmth and love towards them all filling his heart. How he had been missing them all, nights out with Casey, some private talking sessions with April when he had need one, chasing Mikey, helping Don, arguing and agreeing with Leo and hearing his father’s wisdom. Sinking deep in his thoughts he almost was caught by Leonardo who suddenly turned to look towards the window.\n\n“Anything wrong, my son?” Splinter asked gently while placing his smaller hand on Leo’s shoulder.\n\n“I… I could swear I…”\n\n“Go on, my son.” Leonardo sighed loud turning his head away, dropping his eyes down on his toes. “I could have sworn I saw emerald green hand against the window.”\n\nEveryone suddenly went silent. They all had been thinking Raphael and none hadn’t forgot him but they had been forced to let go of him since they never found him, no matter how hard they had been looking for him. It seemed Leonardo hadn’t been able to let go of it what happened.\n\n–\n\n“But Leo, Master Splinter is sick! If we don’t agree with Bishop’s deal, Splinter will die!”\n\n“I know that but it would put one of us in danger! I cannot take that risk!”\n\n“Hurry up, turtles, make the decision or I’ll make it for you.”\n\nBrothers looked at each other and then their sick father who they had brought with them to see Bishop. Leonardo didn’t like Bishop’s deal in this situation. They could get antidote to their father but in exchange one of them has to become Bishop’s test subject. Leonardo closed his eyes tightly, fists trembling by his sides. He couldn’t do it! He could never ask any of his brothers to have such faith so.. So….\n\n“I will be your little lab rat.”\n\nSnapping his eyes open in shock Leonardo stared at his hot head brother by his side who’s expression was cold and stone hard. “R-Raphael! No, you can’t!”\n\n“Shut it, Fearless! This team cannot afford ta lose a leader or Don, who is our brains. Mikey we could have give away but ya think I would give away my little bro like that? No way.”\n\n“I cannot lose our protector and my right hand!”\n\n“It’s either Splinter or me, Leo.”\n\nLeonardo knew it all too well he had do chances to change his brother’s mind but…\n\n“Very well then, turtle. You come here and the rest of you, out of my base. My men will give you the antidote outside.”\n\nBefore they could do anything soldiers separated them from each other, dragging Raph deeper in the base while others were pushed out. However two oldest kept eye contact all the way until doors between them shut and Leo’s promise screams of him coming to save Raphael later faded.\n\n“Leonardo!”\n\n–\n\n“Leonardo!”\n\n“Huh!?”\n\n“You were lost in your thoughts. Are you alright?”\n\n“Yeah. No worries, guys. Just… thinking about Raph. These last few Christmas, they haven’t been the same without him. Nothing in my life hasn’t been the same.”\n\nSilence started to become too much for Casey to handle so he went and turned power on to their CD player and placed Christmas CD in it, digging out his video camera. They had film their Christmas days so that they could show them to Raphael one day. Watching for an hour behind the window Raph shivered since his body was getting cold. He didn’t want to leave but he couldn’t stay there either. Plus he had seen enough to be happy and sure his family was safe and sound. Standing up Raphael totally forgot his size and hit his head at the bottom of balcony which was above him and the sound alerted everyone in April’s apartment.\n\nRunning to window with weapons ready Mikey lifted window open while Don and Leo jumped on balcony. Nothing. They looked around and even went to check near by roofs but nothing. However they both had the feeling they had been watched. Sudden movement in a distant made Leo’s body launch after it like a lightning, Don’s voice echoing after him in the air but Leo didn’t halt. He couldn’t make his body stop. It was like it was moving on its own. It was like… His body knew something what his mind didn’t.\n\nWhen the air turned more colder Leonardo realized he had come to abandoned area at the dock and the wind from ocean was chilling. Stopping to rub his arms Leonardo looked around for any signs. He could have go and try to look foot prints but his senses told him he didn’t need to do such thing. He would find that what he was looking for without foot prints. Jumping down on the snowy street a hand made its way to one handle and pulled sword out into cold night air, chilling temperature turning his breaths into mist clouds.\n\nSilently and slowly Leonardo checked those few smaller storage buildings which appeared to be empty. Taking inside road through small hallway tunnel to this big storage building Leonardo stopped. Something wasn’t right. This place was darkest of them all, had heavy energy and lots of stuff so he couldn’t see clearly. Keeping now both swords in his hands his dead silent ninja steps moved him forward more and more closer to the center when a shadow flashed past him and vanished in another room.\n\n“W-wait!”\n\nForgetting his safety Leonardo ran after this shadow in another room. Suddenly feeling he stepped on something which instantly caused huge pain around his ankle Leo fell on his knees screaming his lungs out turning to look at his ankle. It was old bear iron trap! Leo felt his blood warming his cold foot and he cursed himself into darkest hole for not being careful. Gently and slowly Leo tried to move his foot and it moved even that it was painful. Luckily that rusty old trap wasn’t as sharp as it has been so it only had break his skin and tear some flesh, but not broke any bones or any other serious injuries. Sitting up and getting ready to open trap around his ankle Leonardo heard running steps and soon he was surrounded by Foot soldiers. Great, just great! Still, he wouldn’t be a sitting duck. Swinging his swords towards the Foot gave Leo space and time to get on his healthy foot and keep his enemy away from him but since he couldn’t move he could do only so much.\n\nSoon heavy chains waved in the air towards him, hitting swords away from his hands and leaving them burn in pain.\n\n“Beat him and then we take him to Master Shredder.”\n\nGrowling loud Leonardo did avoid the chains as good as he could but eventually they hit him over and over again and damn it hurt! Cold and heavy chain with force left indescribable pain all around his body and specially it hurt when they managed to hit his shell. Falling on his side Leo screamed holding his body. D-damn it, it hurt! Turning his head upward on the floor he saw his sword. If only he could reach to it… His eyes widened slightly in surprise when something flashed from the shadows, took a hold of his katana and pulled it in the shadows. W-what the heck?! In a next second Leonardo witnessed how that same blade flew over him through the air and pierced Foot soldier’s body.\n\nExtremely deep growl was heard over the painful death scream as group of tentacles flied from shadows towards the Foot, mostly strangling them to death or breaking their necks. In the time of battle Leonardo managed to move towards the body pulling his katana out of that cold body, seeing how all those ninjas bodies fell on the floor lifeless. Sitting still and holding his only katana with his two hands Leonardo’s eyes widened and shivers ran over his skin when those tentacles came towards him.\n\n“S-stay away! I warn you! I will cut all those nasty and slippery worms of yours off!”\n\nAnd tentacles stopped and slowly pulled away back in the darkness. Even that Leo saw no one he felt and knew he was being watched, he was not alone. Starting to open bear iron Leo’s focus was completely on it and he did not hear the cracking sound of old wooden pillar next to him until it started to fall on him. In the middle way pillar stopped, being held in the air by many strong tentacles. Despite the fact Leonardo disliked tentacles he couldn’t understand why these were helping him.\n\nMoving the pillar further away from Leo those tentacles left and went back in shadows as Leo finally got himself free. Standing was still something what he couldn’t do and when he stubbornly took a step and fell forward, another tentacle was there instantly and made its way around his body once, holding him slightly in the air.\n\n“P-p-p-put me down, please! Don’t touch me! I can’t stand your tentacles!”\n\nIt looked like if his words had hurt that tentacle’s feelings since it let him go all so gently, slowly making its way back into the shadows in most saddest way. Swallowing slightly Leonardo felt bad for being so mean to someone who had saved him now few times and helped him too. Hearing the sounds of movement gave away a sign this being was leaving and it suddenly scared Leo. Reaching his hand towards the darkness, he yelled; “Wait!”\n\nThe sounds stopped and for few long seconds Leo only heard his hammering heart in his ears.\n\n“I… I need to thank you. Please, step into the light so I can see you and bow to you. Show you my gratitude and respect.”\n\nDead silent. It started to feel like if he was all alone in the room but soon silent patter sounds were heard until they stopped. Leonardo patiently waited few more minutes but nothing happened.\n\n“It’s okay, you can come out. I won’t hurt you even that I said I would. I just got slightly scared of your tentacles. Please, come forth.”\n\nHis heart was hammering so hard, his hands sweating and shaking. So badly he wanted to step out to the light and go hug his brother but he couldn’t. His tentacles had scare Leonardo already so how he would react if he would see him fully in his new form? But still… Just to even touch Leo. Just a little bit. To let his fingers touch his. How much he had been longing to feel his brother’s skin and warmth like he had felt in the past. Trembling Raphael lifted his hand and super slowly started to reach it towards Leo.\n\nSomething was slowly moving towards him from the darkness and Leonardo found himself extremely tensed as he waited, soon seeing a faint shape of big finger, another finger and finally third finger. Three fingers… and the skin color was dark emerald green! It couldn’t be!\n\nJust as Leo opened his mouth he heard running steps with Mikey’s and Don’s voices calling him. Hand pulled fast back in the shadows and this big figure jumped to the window and climb out even that Leo called after him.\n\n“Leonardo! Oh shell, you are okay!” Being hugged by Mikey and Don brought some comfort and relief to Leonardo, but at the same time he was angry at them. Why they had to show up right now? Couldn’t they have come like few minutes later? While Don was checking his bleeding ankle and Mikey gave him support, Leonardo turned to look at the high open window near the ceiling.\n\n“If you hear me, be here in next week! Same day and time! I want to see you and thank you!”\n\n“Huh? What are you talking about?” Donatello said nothing but he was as confused as his little brother. Leonardo only shook his head and said there had been someone who saved him but he hadn’t got any chance to thank him. That’s why he wanted to meet him next week, alone.\n\n–\n\nThat week had been one of most difficult weeks in Leo’s life and waiting was normally easy task to him but not now. Not when he desperately wanted to know had his savior be that who he thought him to be. And what about those tentacles? There were questions but tonight he would find answer to them.\n\nLeonardo had been too impatient and went to that old abandoned storage early to wait. Looking clock from his shell cell showed his ‘partner’ was 30 minutes late. Perhaps he wasn’t going to come. Perhaps Mikey and Don had scared him so bad last time or his threats to cut his tentacles off. Sudden cold air flied past him as the upper window opened and the feeling he no longer weren’t alone took over him.\n\n“If you just arrived, give me a sign. Knock something twice as yes and no knocking or sound of any kind if answer is no.” Leonardo did not need to wait long when two silent knocks echoed in the room.\n\n“Thank you for coming. I’m sorry what happened last time. I wish we could continue from there where we left.”\n\nSilence. And then sounds of paper being bend few times. Soon small model flew through the air and landed in front of Leo’s feet. Picking it up and opening it Leonardo instantly recognized familiar hand writing but he kept his cool. He couldn’t let go, not yet. He had to see him with his own eyes. Taking deep inhale Leonardo allowed himself to calm down and read the text.\n\n[i]“I have a request ta make. Promise me ya will kill me after ya have seen me. I cannot keep on living this way, looking the way how I do. I just can’t… I want ta die by your hands and sword.\"\n[/i]\nStaring the last sentence Leo felt his heart sink and body tremble. “I can’t. I can’t promise such thing. I cannot and don’t even want to kill anyone if it’s not extremely necessary.”\n\nSoon another model flew to him. [i]“Promise on your honor ya will kill me!”[/i]\n\nReleasing deep sigh Leonardo nodded. “Okay, I promise on my honor to kill you if it’s extremely necessary.” Silence overtook this old dusty place again until figure started to move in the shadows. Slowly a foot came to the light revealing big feet with 2 toes, very muscular calf, knee, thigh, groins, waist, stomach, chest, shoulders and neck, chin and finally familiar and yet unfamiliar face.\n\nGasping Leonardo stood still as Raphael fully entered into the light, revealing his whole new form.\n\n“… Ra-Raphael, you...”\n\n“Look horrible. Kill me.”\n\n“No.”\n\nGrowling Raphael jumped right in front of his brother, growling. “Ya promised!”\n\nSlowly and calmly Leonardo lifted and placed his hands on those green cheeks, locking his eyes with Raphael’s. “I promised to kill you only if it’s extremely necessary and I see no reasons to kill you.”\n\n“Then I have ta attack ya and kill ya first, huh?”\n\nIgnoring Raphael’s words fully Leonardo closed his eyes making his way fully against his brother’s big body, pressing himself firmly against it. “I have miss you so much. There’s no words to describe my feelings right at this moment. God I could melt in you…”\n\nThis left Raphael speechless and he only wrapped his arm carefully around his brother’s form. Feeling Leo against him was something what he had been wishing and missing and now he was there in his arms, making Raphael’s cheeks turn red. Closing his eyes Raphael allowed this moment fill him with good feeling. Listening Raphael’s steady breathing made Leo open his eyes to half but they opened fully when he saw tentacle coming to their side. Slowly gathering control of his rested feet Raphael stood up and ran forward with slower pace, jumping from roof to roof until familiar laugh echoed through the sky to his ears. Starting to head towards the laugh he reached the edge of the roof and his eyes locked on one open window and small balcony in front of it. It all looked so familiar and happy chatting sounds filled the city air. Kneeling down Raphael saw shadows moving in the apartment until human woman with red hair came to the window.

“...A.. April...” Was a silent whisper what Raphael needed to whisper to himself. Sudden happiness and sadness filled his heart and brought tears in his eyes. How much he had been missing her and even more how badly he wanted to go to her, hug her and tell her how happy he was to see her. Another figure soon came next to her and Raph gasped silently.

“Casey...”

It was like Casey had heard him since his head turned to Raphael’s direction but he couldn’t see him.

“Is something wrong, Casey?”

“N-njah, it’s nothing, babe. Let’s go back inside.”

Raphael’s eyes followed his human friends every move when they went back inside. Sitting down Raph sighed deeply. He wanted to go there and see his friends but with his new look… He would freak April and Casey would be beating him with his baseball bats. Sudden sound from near by roofs made Raphael alert as he bend down as much as possible in the shadows, seeing 4 figures coming on the roof of April’s building, slowly making their ways on the balcony and in her apartment.

His brothers and Master Splinter. Looking around Raphael realized why they were there. Christmas day. They all had spend Christmas together for few years now but there was no room for him anymore. With sad eyes he witnessed how they all smiled to each other, ate and chatted happily. Like if he had never exist. Part of him told him to leave and go find a place where to stay but another part encouraged him to go on the balcony and listen.

Silently he stood and jumped next roof, making his way all so silently on April’s balcony behind, now, the closed window. Peeking behind the edge he saw all those lovely faces so clearly, warmth and love towards them all filling his heart. How he had been missing them all, nights out with Casey, some private talking sessions with April when he had need one, chasing Mikey, helping Don, arguing and agreeing with Leo and hearing his father’s wisdom. Sinking deep in his thoughts he almost was caught by Leonardo who suddenly turned to look towards the window.

“Anything wrong, my son?” Splinter asked gently while placing his smaller hand on Leo’s shoulder.

“I… I could swear I…”

“Go on, my son.” Leonardo sighed loud turning his head away, dropping his eyes down on his toes. “I could have sworn I saw emerald green hand against the window.”

Everyone suddenly went silent. They all had been thinking Raphael and none hadn’t forgot him but they had been forced to let go of him since they never found him, no matter how hard they had been looking for him. It seemed Leonardo hadn’t been able to let go of it what happened.

“But Leo, Master Splinter is sick! If we don’t agree with Bishop’s deal, Splinter will die!”

“I know that but it would put one of us in danger! I cannot take that risk!”

“Hurry up, turtles, make the decision or I’ll make it for you.”

Brothers looked at each other and then their sick father who they had brought with them to see Bishop. Leonardo didn’t like Bishop’s deal in this situation. They could get antidote to their father but in exchange one of them has to become Bishop’s test subject. Leonardo closed his eyes tightly, fists trembling by his sides. He couldn’t do it! He could never ask any of his brothers to have such faith so.. So….

“I will be your little lab rat.”

Snapping his eyes open in shock Leonardo stared at his hot head brother by his side who’s expression was cold and stone hard. “R-Raphael! No, you can’t!”

“Shut it, Fearless! This team cannot afford ta lose a leader or Don, who is our brains. Mikey we could have give away but ya think I would give away my little bro like that? No way.”

“I cannot lose our protector and my right hand!”

“It’s either Splinter or me, Leo.”

Leonardo knew it all too well he had do chances to change his brother’s mind but…

“Very well then, turtle. You come here and the rest of you, out of my base. My men will give you the antidote outside.”

Before they could do anything soldiers separated them from each other, dragging Raph deeper in the base while others were pushed out. However two oldest kept eye contact all the way until doors between them shut and Leo’s promise screams of him coming to save Raphael later faded.

Silence started to become too much for Casey to handle so he went and turned power on to their CD player and placed Christmas CD in it, digging out his video camera. They had film their Christmas days so that they could show them to Raphael one day. Watching for an hour behind the window Raph shivered since his body was getting cold. He didn’t want to leave but he couldn’t stay there either. Plus he had seen enough to be happy and sure his family was safe and sound. Standing up Raphael totally forgot his size and hit his head at the bottom of balcony which was above him and the sound alerted everyone in April’s apartment.

Running to window with weapons ready Mikey lifted window open while Don and Leo jumped on balcony. Nothing. They looked around and even went to check near by roofs but nothing. However they both had the feeling they had been watched. Sudden movement in a distant made Leo’s body launch after it like a lightning, Don’s voice echoing after him in the air but Leo didn’t halt. He couldn’t make his body stop. It was like it was moving on its own. It was like… His body knew something what his mind didn’t.

When the air turned more colder Leonardo realized he had come to abandoned area at the dock and the wind from ocean was chilling. Stopping to rub his arms Leonardo looked around for any signs. He could have go and try to look foot prints but his senses told him he didn’t need to do such thing. He would find that what he was looking for without foot prints. Jumping down on the snowy street a hand made its way to one handle and pulled sword out into cold night air, chilling temperature turning his breaths into mist clouds.

Silently and slowly Leonardo checked those few smaller storage buildings which appeared to be empty. Taking inside road through small hallway tunnel to this big storage building Leonardo stopped. Something wasn’t right. This place was darkest of them all, had heavy energy and lots of stuff so he couldn’t see clearly. Keeping now both swords in his hands his dead silent ninja steps moved him forward more and more closer to the center when a shadow flashed past him and vanished in another room.

“W-wait!”

Forgetting his safety Leonardo ran after this shadow in another room. Suddenly feeling he stepped on something which instantly caused huge pain around his ankle Leo fell on his knees screaming his lungs out turning to look at his ankle. It was old bear iron trap! Leo felt his blood warming his cold foot and he cursed himself into darkest hole for not being careful. Gently and slowly Leo tried to move his foot and it moved even that it was painful. Luckily that rusty old trap wasn’t as sharp as it has been so it only had break his skin and tear some flesh, but not broke any bones or any other serious injuries. Sitting up and getting ready to open trap around his ankle Leonardo heard running steps and soon he was surrounded by Foot soldiers. Great, just great! Still, he wouldn’t be a sitting duck. Swinging his swords towards the Foot gave Leo space and time to get on his healthy foot and keep his enemy away from him but since he couldn’t move he could do only so much.

Soon heavy chains waved in the air towards him, hitting swords away from his hands and leaving them burn in pain.

“Beat him and then we take him to Master Shredder.”

Growling loud Leonardo did avoid the chains as good as he could but eventually they hit him over and over again and damn it hurt! Cold and heavy chain with force left indescribable pain all around his body and specially it hurt when they managed to hit his shell. Falling on his side Leo screamed holding his body. D-damn it, it hurt! Turning his head upward on the floor he saw his sword. If only he could reach to it… His eyes widened slightly in surprise when something flashed from the shadows, took a hold of his katana and pulled it in the shadows. W-what the heck?! In a next second Leonardo witnessed how that same blade flew over him through the air and pierced Foot soldier’s body.

Extremely deep growl was heard over the painful death scream as group of tentacles flied from shadows towards the Foot, mostly strangling them to death or breaking their necks. In the time of battle Leonardo managed to move towards the body pulling his katana out of that cold body, seeing how all those ninjas bodies fell on the floor lifeless. Sitting still and holding his only katana with his two hands Leonardo’s eyes widened and shivers ran over his skin when those tentacles came towards him.

“S-stay away! I warn you! I will cut all those nasty and slippery worms of yours off!”

And tentacles stopped and slowly pulled away back in the darkness. Even that Leo saw no one he felt and knew he was being watched, he was not alone. Starting to open bear iron Leo’s focus was completely on it and he did not hear the cracking sound of old wooden pillar next to him until it started to fall on him. In the middle way pillar stopped, being held in the air by many strong tentacles. Despite the fact Leonardo disliked tentacles he couldn’t understand why these were helping him.

Moving the pillar further away from Leo those tentacles left and went back in shadows as Leo finally got himself free. Standing was still something what he couldn’t do and when he stubbornly took a step and fell forward, another tentacle was there instantly and made its way around his body once, holding him slightly in the air.

“P-p-p-put me down, please! Don’t touch me! I can’t stand your tentacles!”

It looked like if his words had hurt that tentacle’s feelings since it let him go all so gently, slowly making its way back into the shadows in most saddest way. Swallowing slightly Leonardo felt bad for being so mean to someone who had saved him now few times and helped him too. Hearing the sounds of movement gave away a sign this being was leaving and it suddenly scared Leo. Reaching his hand towards the darkness, he yelled; “Wait!”

The sounds stopped and for few long seconds Leo only heard his hammering heart in his ears.

“I… I need to thank you. Please, step into the light so I can see you and bow to you. Show you my gratitude and respect.”

Dead silent. It started to feel like if he was all alone in the room but soon silent patter sounds were heard until they stopped. Leonardo patiently waited few more minutes but nothing happened.

“It’s okay, you can come out. I won’t hurt you even that I said I would. I just got slightly scared of your tentacles. Please, come forth.”

His heart was hammering so hard, his hands sweating and shaking. So badly he wanted to step out to the light and go hug his brother but he couldn’t. His tentacles had scare Leonardo already so how he would react if he would see him fully in his new form? But still… Just to even touch Leo. Just a little bit. To let his fingers touch his. How much he had been longing to feel his brother’s skin and warmth like he had felt in the past. Trembling Raphael lifted his hand and super slowly started to reach it towards Leo.

Something was slowly moving towards him from the darkness and Leonardo found himself extremely tensed as he waited, soon seeing a faint shape of big finger, another finger and finally third finger. Three fingers… and the skin color was dark emerald green! It couldn’t be!

Just as Leo opened his mouth he heard running steps with Mikey’s and Don’s voices calling him. Hand pulled fast back in the shadows and this big figure jumped to the window and climb out even that Leo called after him.

“Leonardo! Oh shell, you are okay!” Being hugged by Mikey and Don brought some comfort and relief to Leonardo, but at the same time he was angry at them. Why they had to show up right now? Couldn’t they have come like few minutes later? While Don was checking his bleeding ankle and Mikey gave him support, Leonardo turned to look at the high open window near the ceiling.

“If you hear me, be here in next week! Same day and time! I want to see you and thank you!”

“Huh? What are you talking about?” Donatello said nothing but he was as confused as his little brother. Leonardo only shook his head and said there had been someone who saved him but he hadn’t got any chance to thank him. That’s why he wanted to meet him next week, alone.

That week had been one of most difficult weeks in Leo’s life and waiting was normally easy task to him but not now. Not when he desperately wanted to know had his savior be that who he thought him to be. And what about those tentacles? There were questions but tonight he would find answer to them.

Leonardo had been too impatient and went to that old abandoned storage early to wait. Looking clock from his shell cell showed his ‘partner’ was 30 minutes late. Perhaps he wasn’t going to come. Perhaps Mikey and Don had scared him so bad last time or his threats to cut his tentacles off. Sudden cold air flied past him as the upper window opened and the feeling he no longer weren’t alone took over him.

“If you just arrived, give me a sign. Knock something twice as yes and no knocking or sound of any kind if answer is no.” Leonardo did not need to wait long when two silent knocks echoed in the room.

“Thank you for coming. I’m sorry what happened last time. I wish we could continue from there where we left.”

Silence. And then sounds of paper being bend few times. Soon small model flew through the air and landed in front of Leo’s feet. Picking it up and opening it Leonardo instantly recognized familiar hand writing but he kept his cool. He couldn’t let go, not yet. He had to see him with his own eyes. Taking deep inhale Leonardo allowed himself to calm down and read the text.

“I have a request ta make. Promise me ya will kill me after ya have seen me. I cannot keep on living this way, looking the way how I do. I just can’t… I want ta die by your hands and sword."

Staring the last sentence Leo felt his heart sink and body tremble. “I can’t. I can’t promise such thing. I cannot and don’t even want to kill anyone if it’s not extremely necessary.”

Soon another model flew to him. “Promise on your honor ya will kill me!”

Releasing deep sigh Leonardo nodded. “Okay, I promise on my honor to kill you if it’s extremely necessary.” Silence overtook this old dusty place again until figure started to move in the shadows. Slowly a foot came to the light revealing big feet with 2 toes, very muscular calf, knee, thigh, groins, waist, stomach, chest, shoulders and neck, chin and finally familiar and yet unfamiliar face.

Gasping Leonardo stood still as Raphael fully entered into the light, revealing his whole new form.

“… Ra-Raphael, you...”

“Look horrible. Kill me.”

“No.”

Growling Raphael jumped right in front of his brother, growling. “Ya promised!”

Slowly and calmly Leonardo lifted and placed his hands on those green cheeks, locking his eyes with Raphael’s. “I promised to kill you only if it’s extremely necessary and I see no reasons to kill you.”

“Then I have ta attack ya and kill ya first, huh?”

Ignoring Raphael’s words fully Leonardo closed his eyes making his way fully against his brother’s big body, pressing himself firmly against it. “I have miss you so much. There’s no words to describe my feelings right at this moment. God I could melt in you…”

This left Raphael speechless and he only wrapped his arm carefully around his brother’s form. Feeling Leo against him was something what he had been wishing and missing and now he was there in his arms, making Raphael’s cheeks turn red. Closing his eyes Raphael allowed this moment fill him with good feeling. Listening Raphael’s steady breathing made Leo open his eyes to half but they opened fully when he saw tentacle coming to their side. Pushing himself free from Raph’s hold and taking his sword Leonardo launched himself towards the tentacle.

“Raph, watch out!”

Realizing in time what his brother was after Raphael moved and so did his tentacle, just barely dodging Leonardo’s deadly blade.

“Raph, it’s behind you!”

“Stop, Leo, stop! It’s me!”

“Huh?”

“… It’s mine. D-don’t freak out.” Slowly Raphael turned around, revealing his burst open shell where these tentacles were coming out. He heard clang which came from Leo’s sword with loud gasp. Turning to look his brother over his shoulder Raphael witnessed that horror on his oldest brother’s face. Leo always had been feeling uneasy about tentacles and now that his brother actually had them… How he could be close with him? How he could give Raph what he wanted the most after these years?

Turning fast around Raphael couldn’t look his brother as he backed away in the shadows. “I knew this would happen. I never shouldn’t had come here. I never shouldn’t had shown myself ta ya.”

Snapping out of his shock Leonardo rushed to his brother, taking tight hold on his arm.

“Don’t say that! I’m sorry I reacted like that but your shell… Those tentacles… They looked so horrible and painful. Does… does they hurt? Are you in constant pain? How did you even got them? How you even transformed?”

He didn’t want to answer so Raphael just closed his eyes and turned his head away. “Please, Leo, kill me. I cannot live like this. I can’t. My whole life is ruined. I can’t show myself ta ya since I freak ya out, Master would never want this ugly son, Mikey would get nightmares from me and Don would either want ta try ta heal me with LH or run tests and I don’t want any of that. Not ta mention April and Casey… April would scream every time she would see me and Casey, my best friend, would not want ta have anything ta do with me. And I will never get that what I long ta have the most from ya...”

“Don’t say any of that. You are alive and that means the whole world to us. I… Oh, Raph.” Reaching up to those cheeks ones more Leonardo pressed his forehead against that emerald green forehead, closing his eyes. “I’m so sorry I didn’t find you. So sorry I couldn’t save you like I promised. But know I’m more than grateful for you being alive and back. I’m not going to kill you and I will never let you go.”

Big brother’s cool and calming voice was all what Raphael needed to feel a bit more easy and he appreciated the fact his brothers had try to find and save him but after he was being captured, Raph had been transported in fully dark cage somewhere else but then, after 2 years, when he’s being transport back to original base he managed to escape. Now he was safe in his brother’s arms but how long? Raphael knew he couldn’t go home while looking like this and –

“We better go, Raphael. Sun is starting to raise and we cannot stay here.” Starting to lead the way Leonardo halted when he noticed his brother wasn’t following him.

“Why aren’t you coming?”

“I told ya.” Raphael growled slightly. “I cannot come home while looking like this.”

“But they all will understand. I swear on my honor. Give them a chance.”

Taking deep inhale and loudly releasing it Raphael shook his head but Leonardo wasn’t going to give up. He wasn’t going to let his brother go and disappear from their lives again, not now when he was back again. Stepping firmly back to his brother Leonardo took tight hold on Raphael’s bigger hand, locking his eyes with his.

“I’m not letting you go, Raph. You will come home with me even if I would had to drag you there.”

Surprisingly Raphael didn’t pull his hand away but smirked widely, moving the top of his tentacle next to Leo’s face, wiggling it. “Oh? Ya think ya can do it if I keep showing these ta ya?”

Swallowing Leo stood his ground and nodded, keeping his eyes strictly on Raphael’s. “Yes. Wiggle them all you want, I will not let you go.”

Next there was slightly slippery tentacle sneaking up on Leo’s leg which sent shivers to his spine, but he held his ground bravely. He needed to prove to his brother in red he would not back away and he would not fear his tentacles. Warmer breath hit Leo’s face as his eyes kept scanning all little changes on Raphael’s face. His cheeks were blushing, small hints of tiny sweat drops appeared on his forehead, his body was slightly trembling and more of his tentacles were coming to touch Leonardo’s body.

“U-um, Raph?” Leo’s voice was cracking slightly as he looked those slimy limbs coming to touch his harsh skin in so sensitive and seducing way. “Raph.” His name being called more louder snapped Raphael out of his lusty zone. Blinking few times fast he managed to get himself back in control, withdrawing his tentacles back on his backside.

“S-sorry. I uh, I overdid it. L-let’s go. Ya lead the way.”

Leonardo didn’t swallow Raphael’s words that easily but he didn’t want to start to question him there and now since Raphael was willing to leave with him. Turning around, still feeling those slippery movements of tentacles all around his body, Leo marched forward as firmly as he could even that in his mind he just wanted to jump and shake that nasty feeling off.

Back at the sewer they both walked in silence, both of them being too embarrassed and confused what happened. Stopping behind the lair’s door Leonardo stopped to look his brother who hid in the shadows.

“Come on, Raphael. They will be happy to see you.”

“Ya go first. I… I need ta encourage myself a bit. I will follow ya.”

“Promise?”

“Yeah.”

Giving happy smile to encourage his brother more Leonardo pulled one of the pipes and door opened in front of him, allowing him to enter in the lair where 3 familiar faces greeted him with a smile.

“Leo, you’re back!”

“How was it? Did you meet that mysterious person?”

“Actually, Mikey, I did and you’re never gonna believe this!”

Mikey’s jaw dropped open and Don needed to place book from his hands on the table as Splinter also changed his sitting position.

“Please, do continue, my son. Tell us what happened.”

As excited as Leonardo was he stood calmly with wide smile on his face. “It was Raphael. I met Raphael and I managed to bring him home! Just look there!” Turning to point towards the open door behind him Leo’s hand slowly came down back to his side in confusion. Concern filled Donatello who stood up and came to his oldest brother using his gentle voice carefully.

“Leonardo. We all miss Raphael still but there’s no way you met him. I’m sure you still miss him so and blame yourself for not finding and saving him that you keep seeing him even that he’s not there.”

“But he was, Don! He was there! I even held him in my arms! I could feel his breath, his heart beat, smell his scent, everything! He was real and he followed me here! I swear! He was right there!”

“Leonardo.” Master Splinter said firmly with clear voice but Leo answered to it by angry glare and stomping his foot on the floor. “NO! He was there, I swear on my honor! HE WAS THERE!”

“Gosh, dude, chill.” But Mikey’s words echoed to deaf ears as Leonardo kept defending himself and claiming he had seen Raphael.

“That’s enough. Leonardo is right.”

Everyone in the lair turned quiet and their gazes traveled in speed towards the front door of the lair. All their eyes went wide almost in same time when they saw this mutated turtle, who looked and sounded like Raph, standing there.

“Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh! Raphraphraphraphraph!” Mikey was already running towards his brother, jumping to hug him all tight even that Raph had done his best to dodge his brother’s hug attack but Mikey had the speed what Raphael couldn’t match. Being trapped in a hug Raphael smiled gently to Don who came to hug him as well but his eyes soon noticed his badly opened shell and tentacles.

“Raphael, your… your shell! And what are those things coming out of it?”

This made Mikey jump away from his brother and check the back too. Loud girly scream filled the lair and echoed there since Mikey couldn’t stop screaming which frightened Raphael himself. He pushed away from his brothers and ran past them aiming to go in his room and lock himself in there but when Master Splinter stepped in front of his way, Raphael froze.

Firmly hitting floor beneath his feet with his walking stick Splinter’s eyes followed how Raphael instantly fell on his knees in front of him. Trembling like a leaf Raphael kept his head down while hearing his father walking around him, then stopping back at the same spot where he had stood before.

“What are you afraid of, my son?”

“Everyone’s reaction about me. Being hated and feared by my family.” Closing his eyes more tightly hot tears forced their ways out between them, falling on the cool brick floor. “I ain’t what I used ta be, Master. I’m a monster.”

“Are you really?”

Surprised and teary eyes rose to meet his old eyes and Splinter shared knowing smile to his son. “What I see is my short tempered son and nothing else. You may look different from the outside but you still are same Raphael from the inside.” Stepping closed Splinter sealed Raphael head in his arms. “I’m most grateful and relieved to see you have managed to remain true to yourself, my dear son.”

“Thanks ta ya, Splinter. While I was captive I… I thought a lot of ya, Leo, Mikey, Don, April and Casey.” Hugging his father gently back Raphael buried his face deeper against his father’s small furry body. “I was so scared… But ya all gave me strength. And Leo’s words of coming ta save me gave me hope. For a year I hang onto that hope but I then realized ya guys wouldn’t come ta me so I gave up on that and started ta plan on my own move ta escape.”

Hearing steps by his side Raphael knew it was Don who approached him and soon he felt gentle touch on his shell’s side. “Excuse me for asking this but how this happened? Are you in pain? Do I need to get you something?”

Mumbling with softer voice Raphael held his father a bit tighter. “I’m okay, Donnie. It doesn’t hurt, at least not now. When I was out in cold weather then it was aching but it’s good otherwise.”

“I see. I can try to think you something to cover and keep your shell warm if you want to go out.”

“That may not be wise for now, Donatello. Raphael needs to stay home and rest so hear me, son, when I say you are grounded from going top side until I decide otherwise.”

“Yes, Master. And no worries I ain’t wanting ta leave any time soon.”

Now it was Mikey who stepped closer, starting to poke one of Raphael’s tentacles. “Dude, what the heck are these and how you live with these?”

Releasing his hold Splinter stepped back allowing Raphael some space to sit on the floor while others gathered around him. “Tentacles, dork. I got them as result of one of many mutation tests.”

“Mutation tests?!” Anger and shock were clear on Leonardo’s face but Raphael paid no mind to it as he continued. “Yeah. First year was pretty normal tests year while they were creating some other mutation stuff to Bishop. His body was giving in so he needed something what would help his body to regenerate but he didn’t want ta be test subject so they used me. In second year they had managed ta do ‘prototype’ of that stuff and they infected it in me. First mutation changed my body as ya now see it.” Looking down on his big hands and 2 small blades coming out of his knuckles made Raph sigh.

“Second mutation made my sais melt in my body. These 2 small blades are my sais edge blades while these longer blades on my elbows are the middle blade. They were cut off few times since they were dangerous weapons in my hands but whenever they cut them off, they grew back instantly. They made some tests with rabbits and when they cut metal off from them too, metal grew back but when limb was cut off, it didn’t grow back so it only effects in metal.”

Swallowing and licking his lips Raphael sighed, preparing himself to the last part.
