His content has been taking a slight shift since his public fight with Feral, Scab, Hogrider, Exile, Bloodguts. Her audience mostly either held a grudge or followed Jade319 since he managed to beat Feral Bloodguts so handedly.\n\n\nSome popped up in every game he streamed just to annoy him. And his gaming setup sure was improving. Not only his personal flatscreen system, but he'd been booking even more time in the sense-tanks at Guppy's Arcade, leaving his camera on to show his IRL body reacting to his virtual encounters.\n\n\nThe next VOD was labeled as another review/react, but also a Special Event. As promised, it looked to be a higher-end restaurant with an Old Old World vibe of knights in metal armor and fantastical monster automatons and holos. The next major detail you notice as Jade319 quietly enjoys his meal, seemingly unaware of chat trying to ask him about the food, is that everyone is covered up. The serving wenches, while buxom, are fully clothed in medieval and navel garments, and anyone entering with exposed genitalia is given cloaks or other coverings to wear. \n\n\nJade319 apparently came dressed as a roguish pirate for the occasion. His flowing off-white tunic and skin-tight black slacks showing off what little curves his digitigrade hips provided, the heavy boots fully obscuring his often speculated-upon ankle structure. It took several seconds for you to be sure, but you eventually realize that his clothes were embedded with synthweave light armor. This was the best light armor money alone could buy being light weight, stealthy, blending in with clothes, and most importantly for augmented tech casters, great at dissipating environmental and body heat.\n\n\nJade319 finished his burger, which looked like it might have contained real meat, with a contented sigh. He picked up a milkshake, sat back to relax, and flipped down his eye patch. He then looked at the camera before taking a long, loud slurp. \"Good to see you today my Dwellers. Back in this time period glasses didn't exist, so I didn't see you come in. Up here, near the Executive Block, a fair number of people are actually wealthy enough to remove their children from the corporate boarding school, and that means that some franchises have popped up to cater to the old fashion concept of 'families.'\"\n\n\nHe stood up and held his arms wide, \"Here at Dungeons, Dice, and Dives, they try to create a fun 'wholesome' environment where kids, geeks, and prospective adventurers can come and enjoy a safe and challenging fight and a good old fashioned meal. And yes, that burger is guaranteed at least 60% real photo-bovine from local solar ranches.\" The camera tilted down to reveal a transparent floor showing a maze of hallways and rooms with robots and hardlight holograms ready to fight anyone who entered. A wooden chest yawned and licked its lips before snapping shut again. As he talked, a few walls and doors shifted position. \"I've just finished eating a delicious meal, and my adventure is about to begin. Come with me to the staging area.\"\n\n\nAs he walked he answered a few questions from chat before resuming his scripted monologue. \"Every few months they change up their adventures, and each franchise location is unique. Right now, this location is themed on the concept of Kingermen, typically pirates contracted to raid ships from enemy nations, before the Corp's simplified the world. They were basically Freelancers and could be paid to participate in all kinds of engagements. The difficulty can be set for children ranging from 6+ all the way up to real world threats you might encounter just outside the megacity, or living among the lower level gangs.\"\n\n\nHe walked into a ship's cabin where an Elf stood over a map table wearing a Commodore's hat and jacket to cover her mechanical arm. \"Glad you could come Sir,\" she saluted Jade319. \"We've been contracted to help this colony with a problem, Sir. The Mayor's mansion has been haunted and cursed, undead spill out every night. The colonists are stuck out in the jungle until we can find the source and cleanse it. Will you be fighting as a Swashbuckler or Cannoneer?\" She gestured to a belt with a stiff rapier, a modified laser pistol, and a small round shield all tethered with power cables disguised as leather strands. Next to them was a long flared gun of some kind, a pair of pistols, and a baton, all similarly tethered.\n\n\nOther weapon kits were available as well, but Jad319 held up his hand. \"I'd like to test my real skills, actually.\" He caused ads to circle around his wrists as his horns lit up and wriggled like tentacles before the tips opened into railguns.\n\n\nShe nodded respect. \"And will this be a Standard adventure, or Adults Only?\"\n\n\nJade319 shrugged, \"They only spotted me a Standard, so I'll have to come back, maybe after a few… you know, upgrades.\" He gestured to his black slack covered crotch and the barely visible bulge. Looking up a moment his jaw went slack. \"Um, never mind, it appears my sponsors are attempting to humiliate me again and are upgrading this to an Adults Only adventure.\"\n\n\nThe elf nodded and turned up the dials next to the map to select 'High Threat, Ranged Caster, AO.' \"Sign the contract from the King and we will send you in.\"\n\n\nHe picked up the quill, pressed his thumb to its print scanner, and drew an X on the dotted line.\n\n\nHe then turned to the camera and rotated so you could see a large black tube in the wall with a hatch. \"Right then. They are going to 'fire me' out of this cannon over to the colony. I can't have the camera on for that part, so I'll see you Dwellers again once I've 'landed.'\"\n\n\nIt was only a couple minutes from when he pulled in the camera till it turned on again to see him standing in a mockup of a broken down wood and stone building. A similar tube to the 'cannon' ended in the rubble. \"So I just 'flew through the sky,' by which I mean I slid down a long tube that showed images of the 'ground' and 'water' below. That gave me a fairly good visual of the colony.\"\n\n\nHe showed off parts of the room and its fake equipment. \"I think I've landed in the back of an old blacksmiths shop. If I was playing one of the classes they provide this would be a good place to search for early weapon or armor upgrades, but I'm not. I'll be using my own weapons and Techs, but with the damage all dialed down so I don't actually break their stuff.\"\n\n\nHe held up a bag, \"For a High Threat adventure like this, all the upgrades have been replaced with loot that I can take with me, win or lose, as long as I survive. But I can only keep as much as I can fit in this bag. Anything else, I have to either use or convert to prize money. If I 'die' then I get nothing.\"\n\n\nJade319 reached for the door, then backed up. \"Oh, right. My mods will put up a map of the colony, and I want you to vote on where I should go. Ultimately, I need to reach the Mayor's mansion to find and cleanse the source of the haunting. You may have noticed, I'm a few floors below the kiddy adventure maze we saw through the restaurant floor. This adventure is being transmitted through the Dungeons, Dice, and Dives official channels. So if you are subscribed to D&D&D you can watch their perspective, curated from cameras all around the adventure, in AO Adventure Room 13. If you watch there, try not to spoil anything for the rest of chat. Anything you try to tell me about from their feed I will assume you are just trolling and ignore you. Lastly, I'm not exactly sure what all the AO elements will be, I didn't come dressed for that, but the Commodore, the Elf from the briefing room, assured me that will be fine.\"\n\n\nHe then left the shop, the camera following close behind. The diagram looked like the symbols you've often seen on heavy metal and nu nu metal posters and promo's. Jerboans were especially fond of such music, basing a significant portion of their culture on it.\n\n\nHe sheepishly looked at the camera, \"I, maybe should have mentioned this sooner, but this Special Event is actually a multi-man adventure, collaborating with a few other notable figures online. As some of you 3D subscribers have noticed, Feral Bloodguts is one of my competitors. So I have to complete this first if I want the big reward. Which we can do, with your help. Let's figure out this clue together. I believe in you Dwellers. You are way better than Bloodguts' Rag Muffins.\"\n\n\nHe moved on and just then a ball of fire exploded against the wall near his exit. With skill and his synthweave armor he managed to avoid the worst of it, but the arms of his tunic were burnt off. Fire suppression systems triggered to keep the flames from spreading to the rest of the set.\n\n\n\"Nice to see you too, Bloodguts. We were just talking about you.\" Jade319 yelled from behind a barrel. \"You were supposed to turn off the actual damage for this game, you know.\"\n\n\nThe Jerboan goth yelled, \"You humiliated me!\"\n\n\nJade319 looked at the camera with a look of incredulity, \"Should I mention how she was going to kill me, a random shopper, when I was unconscious? No? OK.\" He ran from his hiding spot to a cart in the square trying to get a better idea of where she was while yelling, \"Humiliation is sort of the point of Vend-Dom. Lots of people love it.\"\n\n\nHe didn't seem to notice as a wooden crate dropped down from the back of the cart and wiggled up next to his leg. The box looked like it was about to bite his leg, but just then Bloodguts lobbed another incendiary grenade timed to detonate just over his head. He quickly scrambled under the cart in time to only lose a bit of his pant legs and singe his boots.\n\n\n\"Well, I think she's using some kind of scrambler, I can't get a fix on her location. She's been reckless with two grenades, and I'm pretty sure she can only deploy two big Techs like that in a given fight. That's actually why I've been holding off, her and I have very similar limits, and there's still two more players to deal with, let alone whatever boss fight is in the mansion. If I give her a chance to retreat and rest she will get those back, so I need to…\"\n\n\nThe unnoticed crate at his feet took advantage of his being under the cart and extended a long tentacle tongue up his leg under his burnt pants. Its slimy stimulants surprised him. \"Oh, shit, terrible timing to get caught by a mimic.\"\n\n\nA whip circled around his shoulders, dragging him out from under the cart before dissolving into an electric shock across his body. He looked up to see the Gothic rodents cooch overhead, a black katana with a skull pommel in her hands as the Netsucker inspired clothes writhed around her plump form. The mimic was still coiled around his leg, the tongue climbing toward his nethers under his pants. Between the mimic's stimulants and Bloodguts' Gothic aura, Jade319 was overcome with a wave of fear.\n\n\nDespite the fear, a thunderous ad spiraled around him declaring a discount on adult products in a popular virtual game series. The wave of ads pushed back both Bloodguts and the mimic, giving Jade319 space to safely stand up as they reeled from the intense sound. Meanwhile, another set of familiar porn ads flashed down his arm.\n\n\nBloodguts didn't even bother turning to face it as the dark purple tentacle rose beside her, just stating, \"Fuck, not that again,\" before getting a squelching slap to her massive ass. \"This thing might keep slowing me down, but I can just keep pulling you in.\"\n\n\nShe produced another Lightning Lash, pulling close and shocking him again. This time, he did not succumb to her horrific aura. She went to plunge her katana into his belly, but the tentacle slapped her hand making it barely nick his synthweave. The blade didn't just cut the cloth though, it digitally deconstructed it.\n\n\nCharging up his horns, each railgun blast hit hard enough to push her further back from him, beyond the range of her Lash. He then clambered up on top of the cart to help even more in staying clear of her Weeb weapon and away from the mimic.\n\n\nShe tried to hack and slash at Jade319's tentacle, even though you are sure her HUD would be telling her that wouldn't do anything. The Vibe blade slid right through the hologram, revealing the ads underneath, but causing no disruption to its projection matrix.\n\n\nA howling cat pounced down the side of a building, landing on Bloodguts. No, not a cat, a catgirl. The well dressed tigress slashed away at the Form of the Goth armor with her claws.\n\n\nJade319 shouted out, \"Careful, she's using full power Techs.\" He then blasted the Jerboan out from under the tigress before she too got a gut full of digital katana. \"Also, there's a mimic somewhere down there. A box tentacle decorated like an old wood footlocker.\"\n\n\nThe tigress, who chat was saying was Mistress Calasia of the Red Ring club, shifted her hardlight projection to that of a burly bear woman with an ass large enough to rival Bloodguts, and a rack to match with only the smallest of bikini trying to hold her mass. She charged the goth rodent, soon followed by Jade319's tentacle. Together they pummeled her until the Form of the Goth faded away leaving Bloodguts exposed and unconscious, again.\n\n\nWith her out of the fight, Jad319 spoke to Calasia. \"Do we power down and fight each other as the game intends?\"\n\n\nThe bear vanished, turning back to the tigress with a significantly smaller, though no less impressive, rack on her chest under her sparkling red dress. \"Actually, we need each other. I found a clue, just after I defeated our other competitor. It was very clear that cleansing the curse will take two of us working together. Since those two are out, that leaves just us. Have you found any clues?\"\n\n\n\"Sounds like something they'd do here. And I have a fair bet it involves us having sex. Yes, I found a clue, but haven't figured out what it means yet. It looked like a diagram, or set of symbols. I think it will mean more once we need to use it. But then, I'm not the smartest cookie in the bag. That's why I took pictures and I'm having smarter people then I look at it. Right Dwellers? Heh, looks like they want us to bone here and now, but I think that will have to wait.\"\n\n\nShe seemed slightly disappointed, but understood. As they left the square, the camera caught sight of the mimic hungrily approaching the unconscious goth. \n\n\nTogether they pressed on toward the mansion fighting various ghosts and skelebots. Before entering the mansion they sat down to rest up. Calasia's holoprojector emitted a cloud of nanites to repair her own systems along with Jade319's skin and synthweave clothes.\n\n\n\"So, you're a Streamer. Maybe you should come to the Red Ring some time and show it off.\"\n\n\n\"Maybe,\" Jade319 shrugged. \"I usually do reviews of physical franchises, only VR I do is porn games. Chat tells me the Red Ring is a sub-domain, a perpetually burning forest night club themed on renewal through adversity? They also tell me that you inherited it from a powerful SysAdmin, who's gone now. You're new to this. You've always been a Shut-In, interacting with the world through your avatars and your specially built holoprojector. To an Auditor or Ordinator, you might be indistinguishable from holographic malware. What makes a netizen like you come out to the physical world and fight in a D&D&D adventure?\"\n\n\nSomething about his smooth tone and sincerity made the harsh truth seem bearable to her. \"Anyone else said that, and I'd bite their noggin off. And not in a fun way. But, yeah. I am willing to do anything to make sure my sub-domain survives. I'm looking for equipment and funding to keep it running. I won't let it fall into the digital wastes. It's the only place that's ever felt like a home to me.\"\n\n\nChat lit up with worried Dwellers, concerned that she was just playing him to fight through the hard stuff and backstab him at the end. Others immediately began posting ships of the two of them falling madly in love and having green cat-girl children with horns.\n\n\nJade319 nodded to her and slowly pulled off a necklace. \"Well, we can't let that happen, can we? Here, take my JO-Crystal. It will allow my chat to help you in the fights to come. It doesn't do much good for me to keep it. And if we get separated, I had them build a smartphone into it as well. It already has my number.\" He reached forward and placed it on her neck, the hologram flickering as the projector drone interfaced with its systems.\" He stood up, stretched, and asked, \"Ready to keep going? My Techs have all been recertified, ad licenses ready to fight.\"\n\n\nShe looked wistfully down at the pendant. Softly, unclear if it was even meant to be heard, she lamented, \"You Streamers are crazy. Giving so much control in your lives to unknowable ad agencies. Yeah, I'm ready.\"\n\n\nInside the mansion they found a series of symbols and force fields preventing entry to any of the rooms. Jade319 scanned over each of them, pulling additional symbols from behind a clock and a painting. One last symbol piece Calasia retrieved from the chandelier.\n\n\nJade319 held up each symbol in front of the component on the floor. \"Alright, so, these combined correctly should make the three diagrams we found before meeting you. But it looks like we are missing pieces for two of them. Pretty sure making an incorrect diagram will summon more enemies without letting us progress. Correct arrangements will probably summon them too, but let us find the next piece.\"\n\n\nCalasia nodded, \"That fits the poem of the first clue.\" Jade319 looked at her a little annoyed that she hadn't mentioned that clue till now. \"I guess the other part of the poem was saying that we would find the cursed item up,\" she counted the doors on the second floor, \"there, in the master bed…room… Yeah, they're gunna have us fuck for sure. I can finally test how those sensors work in the real world.\"\n\n\nMatching the first set one of the force fields dropped and a wave of ghostly holograms descended while skelebots approached from the lower doors and walked through the fields. Working together they weren't very difficult to dispatch. Inside the unlocked room they found some 'loot' items and the missing piece. \n\n\nThe same occurred for the second diagram, this time adding two large monsters. Through Jad319's eyepatch camera they appeared as patchwork abominations wearing the shreds of giant tuxedoes. Their chests seemed to be assembled from hundreds of breasts, their legs a writhing mass of dick and dick-like appendages. Each of the abominations wielded a screaming woman in a white frilly dress with an axe head growing from her spinal column.\n\n\nJade319 froze at the sight of them, unable to move or react in any way. As viewers complained and left, the mods disabled his camera feed leaving the two from the main camera and the JO-Crystal.\n\n\n Calasia went into a rage, ripping the giants to pieces with her bear claws. But the claws seemed only partially effective against the rotting trees she saw before her; in place of Axe Brides mushroom clubs spewing spores. After they started regenerating she dropped the bear form and materialized a Hot Dog. He wiggled and yelped excitedly before steeling his gaze upon his master’s enemy.\n\n\nBetween the wingless dragon and her own flamethrower, Calasia was able to take down one of the shadowy wraiths as seen by the main camera, and Jade319 managed to shake off their effect. He joined in with his own flame throwers and railguns pushing them back so they couldn't get full use of their battle axe/mushroom club/scythe.\n\n\nWith the last of them defeated the holographic reptile begged for treats from Calasia for the assistance he had provided. She materialized a few sausages and tossed them off to the side where he chased down the digital meat before dematerializing with a happy bark.\n\n\nJade319 sat down dejectedly waving to the mangled robotics. \"Welp, there goes our prize money. Not blaming you, chat says we got a really bad roll. Getting two Aspects of Fear for the boss fight happens less than 2% of the time.\"\n\n\nCalasia shook herself, \"So, they weren't really rotting tree monsters? What did you see? And why no prize money?\"\n\n\nJade319 looked at her skeptically. \"Do you really want to know what they calculated to terrify a Hentai-Hub streamer? What got over half my fucking audience to log off during the climactic battle? I don't think so! I’ll spare you that horror, Mistress. As for the money, you damaged the equipment when you were raging, didn't hold back and limit it like we are supposed to. So the prize money is forfeit to cover the damages.\"\n\n\nCalasia stretched out a hand sending nanites to repair the robots. \n\n\nJade319 shrugged. \"Can't hurt for our reputation, but it also won't get the money back. The clause in the contract is a one way switch. Once it's flipped, it's flipped. And since you said we win this thing together, it cancels the prize money for both of us.\"\n\n\n\"But that's not fair. What's the point of continuing?\"\n\n\nJade319 started looting the bodies. \"Nope. The company makes the rules, why would they make it fair? As long as it's fair enough to keep players, viewers, and diners coming in; long as the company keeps improving market share, that's what they care about. Getting their Executives a chance to petition The Walled Street for a spot in the Bezosphere. But we do still get to keep the non-money loot we can fit in our loot bags. Hells, if I'd been here alone they'd have beaten me before I recovered my wits. You raging instead of freezing in fear saved us from losing everything entirely. If Feral Bloodguts had faced these she'd have been fine, Form of the Goth blocks fear effects, but she already broke the rules with the full strength incendiary nades she used on me. They burned part of the set.\"\n\n\nCalasia went to the unlocked room as he talked, found a few more items and the next symbol piece.\n\n\nThey rested up a bit more uncertain of what would follow, Calasia restocking components in her projector and Jade319 renewing his battle ads. He advised, \"That was the boss fight, but there might be another wave of the regulars before we can go in.\" He answered questions in chat then added, \"Oh, some of my viewers are saying when we summoned the boss wave the mansion lit up as a beacon for the others to follow. I bet D&D&D expected to gather anyone remaining for a battle royal if we hadn't already eliminated them. Give the competition one last shot to steal away the victory. And on the more fair side, call for a partner to finish the last room together if someone got to this point alone.\n\n\n\"I should point out to my Dwellers, this is one of Dungeons, Dice, & Dive's larger locations. The multi-man adventures can accommodate anywhere from 4 to 16 players at once with 6 possible start locations. If you will be coming with 6 or more players they recommend choosing your teams ahead of time.\"\n\n\nAs he gave his ad read the display showed drone footage flying through the map and kids fighting the hologhosts and skelebots using the gear provided by the game. \"If you aren't already a combatant, like me, they have upgradeable equipment paths designed to simulate a variety of combat styles. For this adventure they have the Swashbuckler, the Cannoneer, the Wench, the Cookie, and the Captain. Swashbuckler and Cannoneer are recommended for solo play, the others are designed to support team play. The real good loot, however, is reserved for players using their own skill in High Threat mode, and playing in Adults Only mode dramatically increases the prize money for the winners. A good enough performance can earn you notoriety as they sell the curated recording of your adventure.\"\n\n\nWith that out of the way the pair slotted the last symbol piece completing the heavy metal diagram, an Old World demon binding circle.\n\n\nNo enemies emerged as the force fields all dropped. All the rooms were now available to search. Calasia headed straight for the Master Bedroom. \"Let's get this over with.\"\n\n\nJade319 placed an ear to one of the unopened doors and nodded his agreement. \"Yeah, the other rooms have more enemies. We could take um, but this stream's been running long as is.\"\n\n\nEntering the bedroom they found a floating object shrouded by red and black energy. \"Cursed item?\" \"Yup.\" On the bed a binding circle was drawn with another poem around the edge. The instructions were pretty clear.\n\n\nJade319 took off his clothes revealing all of his green skin and his hooveless digitigrade feet and ankles, like a hairless cat. Chat went wild saying those pics were going on the bizarrefeetwiki. Similar commands caused spikes to form or vanish from the surface across which electric arcs would occasionally jump. \"Well, it's a Tech shield. But neither of us are shield users. This one seems decently advanced, so finding a buyer is going to take some doing. By the rules of the game, it is yours. But I propose we make a team, a squad, if you will. Just as Bloodguts is Vibe of the Weeb, I’m Vibe of the Squad, and… well, I haven’t had a squad to support yet. We are both casters, so we need a proper tank. So how about you keep my JO, and we use this shield as a signing bonus to get a tank to join us. Then we can take on some jobs that will rake in some serious cred. What do ya say, Mistress Calasia?\" He held out his hand with the shield on it to shake.\n\n\nShe considered a moment before shaking his hand. \"And you will advertise my club?\" He nodded.\n\n\nHe removed the shield and gave it to her then looked down. \"And I should probably look into improving my other assets if we are going to recruit help. The clip, labeled 'Bloodguts Canceled Live!' showed her waddling up to one of the adventure's exits, a mimic on her crotch.\n\n\nThe Elf Commodore greeted her behind scenes with a deep frown. \n\n\nBloodguts yelled at the cyborg, “get this thing out of me!”\n\n\n\"No, you'll be breeding more box tentacles. And once you birth them, you will be responsible for decorating them as mimics. They'll try to breed anything they don't see as their mother. You should be free in, oh, three to six months.\"\n\n\nBloodguts spat at her, \"You can't do this to me.\"\n\n\n\"Actually, we can. You not only burnt our set, you also violated the terms of your parole from your last attempt at vandalizing a shop in this spire. Speaking of, we'll also be contacting your ad agency; as a Goth-Topic Weeb there is no way you are properly licensed for incendiary grenades, from Soon-Bok or otherwise. It's not in your contract structure.\" The Elf then grabbed the camera with her cyberhand, \"And no more streaming till you've repaid your debt and cleared your licenses.\" \n\n\nAs the hand's servos spun up the force Bloodguts cried out, \"But my audience!\" before the camera cut out with a crack.", "writing_bbcode_parsed": "You watch a few other streamers and influencers before coming back to Jade319. His content has been taking a slight shift since his public fight with Feral, Scab, Hogrider, Exile, Bloodguts. Her audience mostly either held a grudge or followed Jade319 since he managed to beat Feral Bloodguts so handedly.


Some popped up in every game he streamed just to annoy him. And his gaming setup sure was improving. Not only his personal flatscreen system, but he'd been booking even more time in the sense-tanks at Guppy's Arcade, leaving his camera on to show his IRL body reacting to his virtual encounters.


The next VOD was labeled as another review/react, but also a Special Event. As promised, it looked to be a higher-end restaurant with an Old Old World vibe of knights in metal armor and fantastical monster automatons and holos. The next major detail you notice as Jade319 quietly enjoys his meal, seemingly unaware of chat trying to ask him about the food, is that everyone is covered up. The serving wenches, while buxom, are fully clothed in medieval and navel garments, and anyone entering with exposed genitalia is given cloaks or other coverings to wear.


Jade319 apparently came dressed as a roguish pirate for the occasion. His flowing off-white tunic and skin-tight black slacks showing off what little curves his digitigrade hips provided, the heavy boots fully obscuring his often speculated-upon ankle structure. It took several seconds for you to be sure, but you eventually realize that his clothes were embedded with synthweave light armor. This was the best light armor money alone could buy being light weight, stealthy, blending in with clothes, and most importantly for augmented tech casters, great at dissipating environmental and body heat.


Jade319 finished his burger, which looked like it might have contained real meat, with a contented sigh. He picked up a milkshake, sat back to relax, and flipped down his eye patch. He then looked at the camera before taking a long, loud slurp. "Good to see you today my Dwellers. Back in this time period glasses didn't exist, so I didn't see you come in. Up here, near the Executive Block, a fair number of people are actually wealthy enough to remove their children from the corporate boarding school, and that means that some franchises have popped up to cater to the old fashion concept of 'families.'"


He stood up and held his arms wide, "Here at Dungeons, Dice, and Dives, they try to create a fun 'wholesome' environment where kids, geeks, and prospective adventurers can come and enjoy a safe and challenging fight and a good old fashioned meal. And yes, that burger is guaranteed at least 60% real photo-bovine from local solar ranches." The camera tilted down to reveal a transparent floor showing a maze of hallways and rooms with robots and hardlight holograms ready to fight anyone who entered. A wooden chest yawned and licked its lips before snapping shut again. As he talked, a few walls and doors shifted position. "I've just finished eating a delicious meal, and my adventure is about to begin. Come with me to the staging area."


As he walked he answered a few questions from chat before resuming his scripted monologue. "Every few months they change up their adventures, and each franchise location is unique. Right now, this location is themed on the concept of Kingermen, typically pirates contracted to raid ships from enemy nations, before the Corp's simplified the world. They were basically Freelancers and could be paid to participate in all kinds of engagements. The difficulty can be set for children ranging from 6+ all the way up to real world threats you might encounter just outside the megacity, or living among the lower level gangs."


He walked into a ship's cabin where an Elf stood over a map table wearing a  Commodore's hat and jacket to cover her mechanical arm. "Glad you could come Sir," she saluted Jade319. "We've been contracted to help this colony with a problem, Sir. The Mayor's mansion has been haunted and cursed, undead spill out every night. The colonists are stuck out in the jungle until we can find the source and cleanse it. Will you be fighting as a Swashbuckler or Cannoneer?" She gestured to a belt with a stiff rapier, a modified laser pistol, and a small round shield all tethered with power cables disguised as leather strands. Next to them was a long flared gun of some kind, a pair of pistols, and a baton, all similarly tethered.


Other weapon kits were available as well, but Jad319 held up his hand. "I'd like to test my real skills, actually." He caused ads to circle around his wrists as his horns lit up and wriggled like tentacles before the tips opened into railguns.


She nodded respect. "And will this be a Standard adventure, or Adults Only?"


Jade319 shrugged, "They only spotted me a Standard, so I'll have to come back, maybe after a few… you know, upgrades." He gestured to his black slack covered crotch and the barely visible bulge. Looking up a moment his jaw went slack. "Um, never mind, it appears my sponsors are attempting to humiliate me again and are upgrading this to an Adults Only adventure."


The elf nodded and turned up the dials next to the map to select 'High Threat, Ranged Caster, AO.' "Sign the contract from the King and we will send you in."


He picked up the quill, pressed his thumb to its print scanner, and drew an X on the dotted line.


He then turned to the camera and rotated so you could see a large black tube in the wall with a hatch. "Right then. They are going to 'fire me' out of this cannon over to the colony. I can't have the camera on for that part, so I'll see you Dwellers again once I've 'landed.'"


It was only a couple minutes from when he pulled in the camera till it turned on again to see him standing in a mockup of a broken down wood and stone building. A similar tube to the 'cannon' ended in the rubble. "So I just 'flew through the sky,' by which I mean I slid down a long tube that showed images of the 'ground' and 'water' below. That gave me a fairly good visual of the colony."


He showed off parts of the room and its fake equipment. "I think I've landed in the back of an old blacksmiths shop. If I was playing one of the classes they provide this would be a good place to search for early weapon or armor upgrades, but I'm not. I'll be using my own weapons and Techs, but with the damage all dialed down so I don't actually break their stuff."


He held up a bag, "For a High Threat adventure like this, all the upgrades have been replaced with loot that I can take with me, win or lose, as long as I survive. But I can only keep as much as I can fit in this bag. Anything else, I have to either use or convert to prize money. If I 'die' then I get nothing."


Jade319 reached for the door, then backed up. "Oh, right. My mods will put up a map of the colony, and I want you to vote on where I should go. Ultimately, I need to reach the Mayor's mansion to find and cleanse the source of the haunting. You may have noticed, I'm a few floors below the kiddy adventure maze we saw through the restaurant floor. This adventure is being transmitted through the Dungeons, Dice, and Dives official channels. So if you are subscribed to D&D&D you can watch their perspective, curated from cameras all around the adventure, in AO Adventure Room 13. If you watch there, try not to spoil anything for the rest of chat. Anything you try to tell me about from their feed I will assume you are just trolling and ignore you. Lastly, I'm not exactly sure what all the AO elements will be, I didn't come dressed for that, but the Commodore, the Elf from the briefing room, assured me that will be fine."


He then left the shop, the camera following close behind. Another perspective appeared on screen, apparently from a camera on his eye patch. As he skulked around the abandoned shops of the town square he mostly used his railgun horns to deactivate various skeleton bots.


Following the votes of his audience, Jade319 finally found a clue written in 'blood' on one of the walls. The diagram looked like the symbols you've often seen on heavy metal and nu nu metal posters and promo's. Jerboans were especially fond of such music, basing a significant portion of their culture on it.


He sheepishly looked at the camera, "I, maybe should have mentioned this sooner, but this Special Event is actually a multi-man adventure, collaborating with a few other notable figures online. As some of you 3D subscribers have noticed, Feral Bloodguts is one of my competitors. So I have to complete this first if I want the big reward. Which we can do, with your help. Let's figure out this clue together. I believe in you Dwellers. You are way better than Bloodguts' Rag Muffins."


He moved on and just then a ball of fire exploded against the wall near his exit. With skill and his synthweave armor he managed to avoid the worst of it, but the arms of his tunic were burnt off. Fire suppression systems triggered to keep the flames from spreading to the rest of the set.


"Nice to see you too, Bloodguts. We were just talking about you." Jade319 yelled from behind a barrel. "You were supposed to turn off the actual damage for this game, you know."


The Jerboan goth yelled, "You humiliated me!"


Jade319 looked at the camera with a look of incredulity, "Should I mention how she was going to kill me, a random shopper, when I was unconscious? No? OK." He ran from his hiding spot to a cart in the square trying to get a better idea of where she was while yelling, "Humiliation is sort of the point of Vend-Dom. Lots of people love it."


He didn't seem to notice as a wooden crate dropped down from the back of the cart and wiggled up next to his leg. The box looked like it was about to bite his leg, but just then Bloodguts lobbed another incendiary grenade timed to detonate just over his head. He quickly scrambled under the cart in time to only lose a bit of his pant legs and singe his boots.


"Well, I think she's using some kind of scrambler, I can't get a fix on her location. She's been reckless with two grenades, and I'm pretty sure she can only deploy two big Techs like that in a given fight. That's actually why I've been holding off, her and I have very similar limits, and there's still two more players to deal with, let alone whatever boss fight is in the mansion. If I give her a chance to retreat and rest she will get those back, so I need to…"


The unnoticed crate at his feet took advantage of his being under the cart and extended a long tentacle tongue up his leg under his burnt pants. Its slimy stimulants surprised him. "Oh, shit, terrible timing to get caught by a mimic."


A whip circled around his shoulders, dragging him out from under the cart before dissolving into an electric shock across his body. He looked up to see the Gothic rodents cooch overhead, a black katana with a skull pommel in her hands as the Netsucker inspired clothes writhed around her plump form. The mimic was still coiled around his leg, the tongue climbing toward his nethers under his pants. Between the mimic's stimulants and Bloodguts' Gothic aura, Jade319 was overcome with a wave of fear.


Despite the fear, a thunderous ad spiraled around him declaring a discount on adult products in a popular virtual game series. The wave of ads pushed back both Bloodguts and the mimic, giving Jade319 space to safely stand up as they reeled from the intense sound. Meanwhile, another set of familiar porn ads flashed down his arm.


Bloodguts didn't even bother turning to face it as the dark purple tentacle rose beside her, just stating, "Fuck, not that again," before getting a squelching slap to her massive ass. "This thing might keep slowing me down, but I can just keep pulling you in."


She produced another Lightning Lash, pulling close and shocking him again. This time, he did not succumb to her horrific aura. She went to plunge her katana into his belly, but the tentacle slapped her hand making it barely nick his synthweave. The blade didn't just cut the cloth though, it digitally deconstructed it.


Charging up his horns, each railgun blast hit hard enough to push her further back from him, beyond the range of her Lash. He then clambered up on top of the cart to help even more in staying clear of her Weeb weapon and away from the mimic.


She tried to hack and slash at Jade319's tentacle, even though you are sure her HUD would be telling her that wouldn't do anything. The Vibe blade slid right through the hologram, revealing the ads underneath, but causing no disruption to its projection matrix.


A howling cat pounced down the side of a building, landing on Bloodguts. No, not a cat, a catgirl. The well dressed tigress slashed away at the Form of the Goth armor with her claws.


Jade319 shouted out, "Careful, she's using full power Techs." He then blasted the Jerboan out from under the tigress before she too got a gut full of digital katana. "Also, there's a mimic somewhere down there. A box tentacle decorated like an old wood footlocker."


The tigress, who chat was saying was Mistress Calasia of the Red Ring club, shifted her hardlight projection to that of a burly bear woman with an ass large enough to rival Bloodguts, and a rack to match with only the smallest of bikini trying to hold her mass. She charged the goth rodent, soon followed by Jade319's tentacle. Together they pummeled her until the Form of the Goth faded away leaving Bloodguts exposed and unconscious, again.


With her out of the fight, Jad319 spoke to Calasia. "Do we power down and fight each other as the game intends?"


The bear vanished, turning back to the tigress with a significantly smaller, though no less impressive, rack on her chest under her sparkling red dress. "Actually, we need each other. I found a clue, just after I defeated our other competitor. It was very clear that cleansing the curse will take two of us working together. Since those two are out, that leaves just us. Have you found any clues?"

Together they pressed on toward the mansion fighting various ghosts and skelebots. Before entering the mansion they sat down to rest up. Calasia's holoprojector emitted a cloud of nanites to repair her own systems along with Jade319's skin and synthweave clothes.


"So, you're a Streamer. Maybe you should come to the Red Ring some time and show it off."


"Maybe," Jade319 shrugged. "I usually do reviews of physical franchises, only VR I do is porn games. Chat tells me the Red Ring is a sub-domain, a perpetually burning forest night club themed on renewal through adversity? They also tell me that you inherited it from a powerful SysAdmin, who's gone now. You're new to this. You've always been a Shut-In, interacting with the world through your avatars and your specially built holoprojector. To an Auditor or Ordinator, you might be indistinguishable from holographic malware. What makes a netizen like you come out to the physical world and fight in a D&D&D adventure?"


Something about his smooth tone and sincerity made the harsh truth seem bearable to her. "Anyone else said that, and I'd bite their noggin off. And not in a fun way. But, yeah. I am willing to do anything to make sure my sub-domain survives. I'm looking for equipment and funding to keep it running. I won't let it fall into the digital wastes. It's the only place that's ever felt like a home to me."


Chat lit up with worried Dwellers, concerned that she was just playing him to fight through the hard stuff and backstab him at the end. Others immediately began posting ships of the two of them falling madly in love and having green cat-girl children with horns.


Jade319 nodded to her and slowly pulled off a necklace. "Well, we can't let that happen, can we? Here, take my JO-Crystal. It will allow my chat to help you in the fights to come. It doesn't do much good for me to keep it. And if we get separated, I had them build a smartphone into it as well. It already has my number." He reached forward and placed it on her neck, the hologram flickering as the projector drone interfaced with its systems." He stood up, stretched, and asked, "Ready to keep going? My Techs have all been recertified, ad licenses ready to fight."


She looked wistfully down at the pendant. Softly, unclear if it was even meant to be heard, she lamented, "You Streamers are crazy. Giving so much control in your lives to unknowable ad agencies. Yeah, I'm ready."


Inside the mansion they found a series of symbols and force fields preventing entry to any of the rooms. Jade319 scanned over each of them, pulling additional symbols from behind a clock and a painting. One last symbol piece Calasia retrieved from the chandelier.


Jade319 held up each symbol in front of the component on the floor. "Alright, so, these combined correctly should make the three diagrams we found before meeting you. But it looks like we are missing pieces for two of them. Pretty sure making an incorrect diagram will summon more enemies without letting us progress. Correct arrangements will probably summon them too, but let us find the next piece."


Calasia nodded, "That fits the poem of the first clue." Jade319 looked at her a little annoyed that she hadn't mentioned that clue till now. "I guess the other part of the poem was saying that we would find the cursed item up," she counted the doors on the second floor, "there, in the master bed…room… Yeah, they're gunna have us fuck for sure. I can finally test how those sensors work in the real world."


Matching the first set one of the force fields dropped and a wave of ghostly holograms descended while skelebots approached from the lower doors and walked through the fields. Working together they weren't very difficult to dispatch. Inside the unlocked room they found some 'loot' items and the missing piece.


The same occurred for the second diagram, this time adding two large monsters. Through Jad319's eyepatch camera they appeared as patchwork abominations wearing the shreds of giant tuxedoes. Their chests seemed to be assembled from hundreds of breasts, their legs a writhing mass of dick and dick-like appendages. Each of the abominations wielded a screaming woman in a white frilly dress with an axe head growing from her spinal column.


Jade319 froze at the sight of them, unable to move or react in any way. As viewers complained and left, the mods disabled his camera feed leaving the two from the main camera and the JO-Crystal.


 Calasia went into a rage, ripping the giants to pieces with her bear claws. But the claws seemed only partially effective against the rotting trees she saw before her; in place of Axe Brides mushroom clubs spewing spores. After they started regenerating she dropped the bear form and materialized a Hot Dog. He wiggled and yelped excitedly before steeling his gaze upon his master’s enemy.


Between the wingless dragon and her own flamethrower, Calasia was able to take down one of the shadowy wraiths as seen by the main camera, and Jade319 managed to shake off their effect. He joined in with his own flame throwers and railguns pushing them back so they couldn't get full use of their battle axe/mushroom club/scythe.


With the last of them defeated the holographic reptile begged for treats from Calasia for the assistance he had provided. She materialized a few sausages and tossed them off to the side where he chased down the digital meat before dematerializing with a happy bark.


Jade319 sat down dejectedly waving to the mangled robotics. "Welp, there goes our prize money. Not blaming you, chat says we got a really bad roll. Getting two Aspects of Fear for the boss fight happens less than 2% of the time."


Calasia shook herself, "So, they weren't really rotting tree monsters? What did you see? And why no prize money?"


Jade319 looked at her skeptically. "Do you really want to know what they calculated to terrify a Hentai-Hub streamer? What got over half my fucking audience to log off during the climactic battle? I don't think so! I’ll spare you that horror, Mistress. As for the money, you damaged the equipment when you were raging, didn't hold back and limit it like we are supposed to. So the prize money is forfeit to cover the damages."


Calasia stretched out a hand sending nanites to repair the robots.


Jade319 shrugged. "Can't hurt for our reputation, but it also won't get the money back. The clause in the contract is a one way switch. Once it's flipped, it's flipped. And since you said we win this thing together, it cancels the prize money for both of us."


"But that's not fair. What's the point of continuing?"


Jade319 started looting the bodies. "Nope. The company makes the rules, why would they make it fair? As long as it's fair enough to keep players, viewers, and diners coming in; long as the company keeps improving market share, that's what they care about. Getting their Executives a chance to petition The Walled Street for a spot in the Bezosphere. But we do still get to keep the non-money loot we can fit in our loot bags. Like these UV mini-grenades, I can't wait to try them on Bloodguts next time she tries something."


"You know she's not actually a Netsucker, right?"


"Yeah, I know, it just feels thematically right to play into her persona though. Call it professional courtesy from one Streamer to another, even if she doesn't feel the same. Also, fire wasn't these guys' weakness, we just laid it on faster then they could recover. The UV nades dropped the previous rounds were meant to shut down the boss's healing. Ohh, looks like they dropped some nice drugs; uppers, downers, stims, euphers. Useful, for those of us with flesh bodies, or we can sell em. Same goes for whatever the final loot is, which doesn't have to fit in the bag. But don't choose the in-game sell option, that will lump its value with the prize money, which we aren't getting. Makes me wish I'd kept a few items earlier."


Calasia casually collected a few items as well. "So I screwed us both?"


"I'm pretty sure they use the Aspect of Fear to try getting people to break the rule, so they don't have to pay out as much. Hells, if I'd been here alone they'd have beaten me before I recovered my wits. You raging instead of freezing in fear saved us from losing everything entirely. If Feral Bloodguts had faced these she'd have been fine, Form of the Goth blocks fear effects, but she already broke the rules with the full strength incendiary nades she used on me. They burned part of the set."


Calasia went to the unlocked room as he talked, found a few more items and the next symbol piece.


They rested up a bit more uncertain of what would follow, Calasia restocking components in her projector and Jade319 renewing his battle ads. He advised, "That was the boss fight, but there might be another wave of the regulars before we can go in." He answered questions in chat then added, "Oh, some of my viewers are saying when we summoned the boss wave the mansion lit up as a beacon for the others to follow. I bet D&D&D expected to gather anyone remaining for a battle royal if we hadn't already eliminated them. Give the competition one last shot to steal away the victory. And on the more fair side, call for a partner to finish the last room together if someone got to this point alone.


"I should point out to my Dwellers, this is one of Dungeons, Dice, & Dive's larger locations. The multi-man adventures can accommodate anywhere from 4 to 16 players at once with 6 possible start locations. If you will be coming with 6 or more players they recommend choosing your teams ahead of time."


As he gave his ad read the display showed drone footage flying through the map and kids fighting the hologhosts and skelebots using the gear provided by the game. "If you aren't already a combatant, like me, they have upgradeable equipment paths designed to simulate a variety of combat styles. For this adventure they have the Swashbuckler, the Cannoneer, the Wench, the Cookie, and the Captain. Swashbuckler and Cannoneer are recommended for solo play, the others are designed to support team play. The real good loot, however, is reserved for players using their own skill in High Threat mode, and playing in Adults Only mode dramatically increases the prize money for the winners. A good enough performance can earn you notoriety as they sell the curated recording of your adventure."


With that out of the way the pair slotted the last symbol piece completing the heavy metal diagram, an Old World demon binding circle.


No enemies emerged as the force fields all dropped. All the rooms were now available to search. Calasia headed straight for the Master Bedroom. "Let's get this over with."


Jade319 placed an ear to one of the unopened doors and nodded his agreement. "Yeah, the other rooms have more enemies. We could take um, but this stream's been running long as is."


Entering the bedroom they found a floating object shrouded by red and black energy. "Cursed item?" "Yup." On the bed a binding circle was drawn with another poem around the edge. The instructions were pretty clear.


Jade319 took off his clothes revealing all of his green skin and his hooveless digitigrade feet and ankles, like a hairless cat. Chat went wild saying those pics were going on the bizarrefeetwiki. Meanwhile, Calasia switched her avatar to a naked form with her exposed breasts even more prominent and pendulous than before, Jade319’s JO-Crystal nearly vanishing in her cleavage.


Jade319 addressed the chat as he looked her over. "Remember, guys, donations over $$5000 creds have the option of using my sense-ride-along implants to feel everything I'm feeling for ten minutes. I know some of you enjoyed the adrenaline of my fights earlier, but I think more of you would be interested in feeling what's about to happen."

They walked over to the hunk of metal on the floor. Jade319 picked it up and fitted it to his arm where it unfolded into a small nanocarbon shield. With a menental command it expanded into a full shield, and then into a tower shield. Similar commands caused spikes to form or vanish from the surface across which electric arcs would occasionally jump. "Well, it's a Tech shield. But neither of us are shield users. This one seems decently advanced, so finding a buyer is going to take some doing. By the rules of the game, it is yours. But I propose we make a team, a squad, if you will. Just as Bloodguts is Vibe of the Weeb, I’m Vibe of the Squad, and… well, I haven’t had a squad to support yet. We are both casters, so we need a proper tank. So how about you keep my JO, and we use this shield as a signing bonus to get a tank to join us. Then we can take on some jobs that will rake in some serious cred. What do ya say, Mistress Calasia?" He held out his hand with the shield on it to shake.


She considered a moment before shaking his hand. "And you will advertise my club?" He nodded.


He removed the shield and gave it to her then looked down. "And I should probably look into improving my other assets if we are going to recruit help. My skinny hips and 9 inches aren't very appealing in today's market. And if you are going to fuck men IRL you should get a semen capture device on your projector so you can sell what you gather. It's not much, but it's worth it."


He turned to the camera. "Well, I think that's going to be it for today's stream. Thank you for the donations, that will seriously help offset the loss here, and help fund improvements to my body. The Elf Commodore greeted her behind scenes with a deep frown.

Bloodguts spat at her, "You can't do this to me."


"Actually, we can. You not only burnt our set, you also violated the terms of your parole from your last attempt at vandalizing a shop in this spire. Speaking of, we'll also be contacting your ad agency; as a Goth-Topic Weeb there is no way you are properly licensed for incendiary grenades, from Soon-Bok or otherwise. It's not in your contract structure." The Elf then grabbed the camera with her cyberhand, "And no more streaming till you've repaid your debt and cleared your licenses."
