The city seemed to crawl in spirals up the volcano's inner walls all around them up to a solid marble roof and twisted deeper into the cavernous earth below. Transport tubes and escalators and bridges, and flight paths all crisscrossed through the miles of open space at the center, an insurance adjusters nightmare, to be sure.\n\nThe naked red panda checkmaster waddled over to them and pulled at Chad's pant leg. Destination: Her Majesty's Palace. Open appointment with Prince Halkin and Princess Dyridia; Priority level 5. That means we can take our time but should head on up with comfortable expediency. If you have any luggage secure it on the back before getting in.”\n\nThe ‘jeep’ drove them up the city, sometimes crossing the volcano, sometimes hugging the spiral paths. All around them naked or near naked people of hundreds of species went about their lives just as one would see in any Union city but with far fewer clothes.\n\nChad pondered aloud, “Hmm, no price signs in the shops. I never did look into their currency.”\n\nAmanda looked up at her dad incredulously. “Really dad? They don't have money. Everyone has what they need and they work for bonuses. Anyone who works gets unlimited copper bonuses, like those ice creams. Every few days they earn silver bonuses, like on that toy shop, every few months is a gold bonus. Oh, there's a gold shop, what is that they have?”\n\nChad looked and saw the medallions signifying what level each shop or service was. Seeing the gold one Amanda indicated he tried to make sense of the signage. “I'm not sure. Maybe virtual reality gear, or maybe it's a travel agency. Or a brothel?”\n\nThe jeep speaker beeped. “Aaahh ding ding, that is correct. The World’s Arms Brothel provides exotic and specialty sexual services from all across the world including virtual encounters and other methods of fantasy simulation that may be otherwise impossible or illegal. What's it take to get those?”\n\nAmanda tilted her head trying to remember the details. “Five years, I think, for most Crestians. Some jobs earn them faster, and you can also get them for ‘special service to the crown.’”\n\nChad squinted down to his daughter. “How do you know so much about Westercrest?” \n\n“Well, mom used to tell me stuff, and I looked it up on the computers. Time to get out of the jeep jeep. You have arrived at your destination. Her Majesty's Palace. Seeing it now up close they could see windows, domes, and ramps like the one stretched out before them. \n\nChad placed his hand on one of the ropes holding up the ramp. “It's like a low tech flying saucer.”\n\nAmanda walked out onto the ramp ahead of her father. “Not really low tech. The ropes and stone are just for looks.” She swung her bunny doll by the ear out over the expanse between the ropes. Rather than a smooth arc, the swinging doll bounced off an unseen barrier. “See, that's what we're really walking on. I don't remember what it's called, but Ms. Tibblt told me about them. She said it's a royal secret though, they don't tell other countries they have it.”\n\nWalking up the ramp they entered into a lavish hall with massive portraits of young foxes, tigers, and panthers all dressed in fancy yet revealing garments with crowns upon their heads. Under each portrait was a large pair of double doors and a label.
