They're not literally like just as smart a a preschooler here but its more like what it would be if you were able to take all the knowledge you have as an adult and shove it into your preschooler brain. Atleast socially and emotionally wise anyways.

This is where you get evil dragons n shit. To young to really think about other people as individuals and with a dragon being to most humanoids what a human is to most animals... it's that much harder for them to relate or to care about having eaten a guy n such even when technically they do have the intellectual capacity to know better. Like the weight of all that just doesn't hit them, it's hard for them to conceptualize how others feel much less other people as actual individuals with their own lives and opinions n such.
