She still remembered the year they’d found this particular secluded section of beach. It had apparently been spring break, and their usual spot was packed with rowdy college students, as well as a large area around it. Not wanting to risk her six year old getting trampled on the crowded sand, but not one to be deterred from her goal, her mother had simply found a more private beach farther down the coast.
Suzy smirked as she slung her beach bag over her shoulder and walked past the sign bearing the name of the beach, seeing that someone had repainted “Clothing Optional” in bright letters. That particular warning had been faded and peeling the first time they’d come here, further hidden by a sprig of tall grass.

They’d gotten there early, and Maria had laid out their towels near one of the shade umbrellas placed in neat rows down the beach, not a soul in sight. After a quick dip in the ocean, Suzy had been content to sit building a sand castle in the shade while her mother lay down in the sun.
It was an hour or two before another family joined them. Maria didn’t bother to sit up as the other family set up nearby, the giggle and screams of their two kids playing in the surf persuading her to relax. Now Suzy would have someone to play with. Sure enough, the screaming and splashing soon quieted down, and she could hear two pairs of paws crunching in the sand towards them. “Can we help with your sand castle?” One of the kids, a boy, asked.
“Sure!” Suzy answered happily.
The other child, a girl who sounded about Suzy’s age, asked “Why are you wearing that? You can take it off.”
This caused Maria’s eyes to shoot open behind her sunglasses. She sat up quickly as the boy shushed his sister. “Marabel, she can wear clothes if she wants. Its optional, which means it’s up to her.”
Sitting in the sand in front of her, one happily helping her daughter sculpt a castle while the other filled a pail with sand, was a pair of wolf cubs. A boy of maybe nine, and a girl of about seven. Both were stark naked. Looking around in a slight panic, she quickly spotted the cubs’ parents, also nude, not too far away. The father gave her a friendly wave. She now saw other people; singles, couples and families, had found their way to the secluded beach. They were all ages, and they were all naked.
Recognizing the shocked look, the wolf mother stood and made her way over to sit in the sand next to Maria. “First time here, I take it?”
Stunned and barely managing to keep her eyes from wandering over the woman's body, Maria could only nod. The wolf mother chuckled. “I remember our first time. It’s a bit unnerving now, but don’t worry. The dunes keep this place away from prying eyes, and the folks in charge make sure to keep the riffraff out. Give it time and I promise you’ll fall in love with this place, and you’ll get more comfortable. I’m Susan, those two are Marabel and Daniel,” The wolf said as she held her hand out.
“Maria, and this is Suzy,” she said as she slowly shook the offered hand. She prided herself on being quick to react to new circumstances, and as she took another look around, she was able to calm herself somewhat. The people around them all seemed quite happy to keep to themselves, there was no ogling, no staring, no creepy old men giving lecherous looks towards the nude women and children around them, no one walking around with raging hard-ons.
“I’m not going to pressure you to strip now, but I will encourage you to give it some thought,” The wolf continued in her calming tone. “It’s freeing and way more comfortable than a wet swimsuit clinging to you and trapping sand. Besides, your girl doesn’t seem to mind.”
Looking back to the kids, Maria was stunned to see Suzy trying to vain to get some of the mentioned sand out of her one-piece swimsuit before taking a quick look around and quickly pulling it off and settling back down to play with her new friends. The wolf cubs grinned as Suzy joined them in her new-found freedom, but seemed to know better than to make a fuss out of it.

Still smiling at the memory of the first of many times she’d gone nude in public, Suzy now spread her own towel under an umbrella. She took a quick look around, took a bracing breath, and bent to pull her sundress off over her head. She wore nothing underneath. Stripping for the first time upon getting to the beach was always a little exhilarating, even if it was expected here, and no one paid much attention.
Stretching her arms above her head, she enjoyed the feeling of the sand between her toes, and the sun on her bare fur. Hearing the crunching of sand on the other side of the umbrella, she knew Adam had finally gotten out of the car and caught up. Suzy grinned, hoping he hadn’t seen the sign as he hurried to join her. Her hope came true as Adam rounded the umbrella and stopped dead in his tracks, slack jawed at the sight of her, wearing only a smile, backdropped by the surf. She smiled wider and tucked her hands behind her back, showing off her slender body to him.
“Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it.”
