On Thin Air “Oh no, not again,” said the portal master. Colin was resting in his bed within his quarters of Skylander’s Academy. He was selected to be a portal master, but his call was rushed, and it didn’t do so well for him. He had been warned many times to not travel using the actual portal otherwise it could have consequences, but with no other safe way this one was the only option. He did arrive in time to turn the tide, however, came with some injuries, but then the effect from using the portal was starting to take effect. Lately, while recovering he had been leaving wet patches and luckily no one seemed to notice, but it was getting a bit concerning. He went to Cali, who is the healer but sometimes rotates out with other skylanders, and she told him that due to traveling via portal it did some damage and didn’t recommend immediate magic or potions for they may make the damage even worse. He understood and begged Cali not to tell anyone in which she agreed to. For a while now and still being covered in bandages and attempting to get around, there have been very close calls. It was very nerve-wracking for him during the recovery days, but when it does happen, luckily with his air magic he is able to manipulate… well air. From gusts to wind currents to weather and even air particles. He can dry the area, but it also leaves a smell in which he makes a current that is away from whoever is around. It would go on for days. For now, it was dark and rainy and worse, he wet the bed which means a trip to the laundry room. His quarters didn’t have one installed yet so he would use the main one. He flipped off the covers, sitting up to see the damage he caused. A large dark patch was on the cover and the other sheets below, he sighed. He got out of bed and slightly shivered as the air hit his pants, they too were soaked. He couldn’t go out in the rain and with the smell of urine, so he took a quick shower before heading to the laundry area. One shower later and a change of clothes, he stripped his bed of the damped sheets and bundled them up in a ball on the floor. He looked back at his bed and guessed he must’ve soaked it too good which made him get some bed cleaning supplies. Scrubbing it well to get the stains out, then making use of his air magic, extends his hands to summon a gust of wind to quickly dry the bed, better than waiting. He looked outside from a window, and it was still raining and dark, which was good for him. Mostly everyone is asleep, and no one would want to go out in the rain and late at night, perfect for Colin to sneak out and do a quick wash without anyone noticing. Grabbing his coat and picking up the bed sheets, he opened the door to the outside and was greeted with the howling winds and the heavy rain beating on the ground. Lanterns lit up the pathway of the academy, but some must’ve gone out due to the strong winds. Well, it was now or never and not sleeping in soaked sheets, his palms glowed a sky blue and his body and the sheets and when he walked outside the rain simply curved around him, even the wind wasn’t too much for him. As an Air Portal Master, he has air magic. He can create his own air currents, air blasts for attacks, and even something he has been studying which is manipulating weather. It requires much more precise air magic but the most he has been able to do was cast lighting. His strongest but sometimes out of control technique so only uses it in dire situations, like the past battle. The stone path was good at keeping the ground from getting too muddy or forming puddles from getting too high as he walked. A couple of minutes later he approached the door and opened it. Lights flickered and rows of washers on one side while another side had rows of dryers, he saw that one was being used. “Hope I can make this quick,” he tells himself. He puts in his things and starts the wash; he finds a spot to sit while. He looked around trying to find some way to take his mind off until he heard something. The sound of rain started to mix in so it was hard to tell what it was, but it sounded like footsteps and they were getting louder. The door opens to reveal a cat-like creature, golden mask, large cat claws, and wings, he knew who it was. He breathes a sigh of relief, “Oh Scratch, it’s only you.” “It’s good to see you out and about again Colin. How do you feel?” He holds his bandages, “Better, I think. Just random pains here and there.” “Well,” she jumps on the chair next to him, “I’m glad that you're getting around again, after you came back that lighting roughed you up.” “I guess it is true what happens when a portal master uses portals on themselves.” “But it is good to have you back,” she turns and a little blush shows, “and it’s really good to see you again.” “It's good to see you too,” a small blush forms on his face. The two sat in silence for a while, nothing but the whirring of the machines and heavy rain and thunder. They were partners from the start but couldn’t confess to one another, at least not yet. When Colin came to skylands and became the air portal master, he mostly worked with air skylanders. He met all of them and while he got along with everyone, when he laid eyes on Scratch, something just clicked. On missions she was exciting to see but when he tried to talk to her, she would be too caught up in the moment for a while. Then off mission, she was fun and sometimes a little goofy, the funny kind. They saw each other, passed by each other, then turned to training together, studying together, mostly, and eating together, soon they were very close. She became the most trusted air skylanders on his team, of course along with others. More minutes passed in which Colin was starting to doze off when the buzzer of the machine combined with the heavy thunder shocked him awake. Once he calmed down and regained his surroundings, but then felt something wet underneath him, he looked up. At first, he thought the water had seeped in from the rain, but he didn’t see any dripping or feel any drops on him. Then a smell came along, and it was really close, he finally looked down. His pants had a big wet stain that ran down his legs and some even dripped out of the chair. He was beyond embarrassed and ashamed and Scratch was there… “Scratch,” he whispered and then turned to where she looked shocked. The skylander he trusted the most, just saw him unintentionally wet himself. He shouldn't have come out late at night, he should’ve just switched the sheets and washed some other time, he wanted to hide in his room. He was about to get up and walk, forgetting his laundry until a claw stopped him. “Wait, please don’t go, please,” she moves him over into a dry chair. He was confused almost on the verge of tears, “Y-you’re not mad? Disgusted? Upse-” he was just off with a wing in his mouth. “I’ve known you’ve been different lately, you’ve been avoiding your teammates, or when you see me, or I see you, you take a quick look and rush off, or I see you have a very nervous look, or the time I wanted to come by and talk, you kind of just of brushed me off.” Even with this mouth covered and was about to raise his hand, she continued, “And I uhh feel kinda embarrassed to say this but, I also noticed that your scent has changed.” His eyes widened, “I know, I know but I thought I just said it.” He was stunned that she took note of everything, and he remembered those times. He was careful, or so he thought, he didn’t want to make anyone upset, or so he thought, he thought he was just doing the right thing. He heard what Scratch said, it did hit him. His partner, his most trusted, his potential love interest, he made her upset or different. While he was deep in thought, he didn’t notice that she removed her wing from his mouth, “I want to help you, but you must tell me what's happened to you. I’ve got all night.” Thunder sounded which feels like a bad omen, but it feels like release to him. She had suspicions and she was his most trusted amongst the air skylanders, she had to know. He took a deep breath, “I went to Cali because I was starting to notice those issues once I used the portal. It caused some damage to me inside that even healing magic was too soon to use otherwise it could be worse. A few accidents here and there then became too frequent and really embarrassing.” He leaned back in his chair, “So I tried hiding it. It was hard, but I, I, “ he froze. “It's okay,” she soothed. “I didn’t want anyone to see me as weak. I am a portal master of the air element, I am supposed to be strong, I am supposed to be the hope for skylands but now I am reduced to a person who wets themselves.” Scratch patted his leg to comfort him which he accepted, then got an idea. “Hey, how about we clean up, finish up our laundry and then we stop by someone else's to see if they can help, deal?” “Deal.” They stood up and got their laundry out, and he saw that she was washing her cat bed, blue and white with an air pattern and the edges of it looked like fluffy clouds. Colin offered to use his air magic to dry both their things, so Scratch held it up having to fly a little while he conjured hot air to quickly dry their bed and bed sheets. Then quickly cleaned the mess Colin made, including his pants, which was embarrassing to do, but with a claw on his leg he pushed through. He offered to carry her bed, and the academy offers big plastic bags for carrying out clean laundry in. The rain lightened up to the point of it now misting which hopefully is plenty of time for them to stop by a friend's dorm before heading home. They came up to another dorm and he knocked. “Who would still be up?” he asked, “There is a reason why I come out late at night.” “I’m not the only one who had suspicions.” He was about to ask when he heard an unlocked door and it opened, Sonic Boom stood and yawned. “Scratch? Colin? Do you know what time it is?” He told them. “Hey Sonic Boom, we came by because we need help,” Scratch responded. She looked at Scratch then asked Colin, “Does she know?” “Yea,” he spoke, “yea she knows, and I guess you also had suspicions too, right?” She nodded, “well then they’re true.” She walked out a little and he crouched down so they could hug, “I’m glad you came by,” she released the hug, “Scratch and I have talked and have a solution to your situations, wait here.” She goes back to her dorm then comes out with a large package on her back. He picked it up and held it and was about to open it until she put her claws on it, “no, not out here. Open it when you get back home.” He nods then feels raindrops, fairly big ones and she continues, “I go now, before you get “wet” again,” she joked. He also chuckled but quickly said, “Thank you so much Sonic Boom,” bigger and heavier drops started falling which made him and Scratch quickly run back to his place. Sonic Boom closed her door before another heavy rain started again and brought more thunder with it. They made it back to Colin’s dorm and quickly shut the door when the rain got heavier, and the sound filled his place once again. “You have a nice place,” she complimented. “Thank you and feel free to camp out here since the rain started again,” thunder rolled and felt heavier now, “doesn’t seem like it is gonna let up for the rest of the night.” “Not like I have a choice,” she hops on his bed, “now open up your package.” He sets the clean sheets to the side along with her bed then sets the package on the bed, taking his place on the bed. He felt around and it was soft and when he squeezed, it looked like a lung taking in air. He tears the top open and sees light blue pads of sorts, still hard to tell until he takes out and then gasps. It was a diaper. Very soft and poofy to the touch, he squeezed it a bit and it felt like it was getting bigger a little. He fully opens it to look at the interior and sees a blue strip which he assumes to be the area you go in. He couldn’t help himself but to feel the inside, soft and comfy. He couldn’t help but smile a bit. “So, what do you think?” She asked. “This is what you guys thought would be good for me?” He asked. She fiddled with her claws, “I know, even I was unsure when Sonic Boom pitched the idea, but she told me when she got injured badly and also couldn’t hold her bladder.” His eyes widened as she continued, “She told me not to tell anyone and I would help by bringing her anything she needs to not risk being seen,” then she blushed and rubbed the back of her head, “I uhh even learned things when I was with her.” He lifted a brow in confusion, and she said, “I learned how to diaper someone.” His eyes widened as he also blushed, he swallowed and decided to ask, “Well,” he hands the diaper to her, “would you like to diaper me then?” She clasped her hands together that covered her mouth, her face as red as Ka Boom’s skin. She happily shook her head and took the diaper from him and said, “I’d love to.” “Come on, let's go to the bathroom,” he stood up and made his way over. As she walked with him, she realized, “Wait, you don’t have any powder.” “Actually,” he flicked the lights on and got on his knees looking into a cabinet and pulled out a bottle of powder, “I had this for a while, n-not for the diaper reasons, some areas on me got sweaty and the skin rubbed together, not a good feeling. I put this on, and it makes it smooth and dries the sweat.” “Cleaver!” She said, “Ok then I’m ready, lay down.” He nodded and laid on his back on the soft rugs. He heard a bit of clinks which meant that she probably took off her claws because next he felt very soft paws working his undercarriage. He wanted to look to see but he felt so comfy like this. She tapped his leg to lift up and he did and slid the diaper under him, tapping again to let down. It was soft, like laying on a cloud. Next was a puff of smoke as the powder was applied. She made sure to get everywhere she could, even very tight or tiny spaces. Finally, she flips up the front and holds it there with one paw, while the other one reaches over to the sides and tapes up one side then the other. “Ok, I’m done.” He stood up and looked in the mirror and had to admit, he looked cool in them. Making sure to check all around himself, he even complimented how it fit him to a tea. He did notice another loop that was in the back, he asked Scratch. “Oh, it's a tail loop. For some who do have tails, you just slide it there then tape it up.” “Oh,” he looks at it again, “I can find a shirt or something to cover this for now.” He turns to her and kneels, “Thank you so much for this Scratch, I got to also thank Sonic Boom for the idea.” He was about to walk out until a wing stopped him, “We aren’t done yet,” she walked out which left him confused until she came back with another diaper in her paw, “I want you to diaper me as well.” “Can I ask why?” He asked while taking the diaper and when he tried to take it but then Scratch held on to it. “Because I don’t want you to be alone, even if it is just us too,” she tugged it back and they went back and forth. “I’m grateful for all you’ve done, I really am, but you don’t have to.” “I want to.” “Well, are you gonna let go now?” “Are you?” They laughed until Scratch finally released and laid down on the rug, “I’ll walk you through it.” He unfolds the diaper, “Ok, I’m ready when you are.” “Ok, now lay it flat. Lift my butt up. Ah! From my legs not my tail! Then slide it underneath and set me down, nice and easy. Now the powder, just sprinkle a good amount of iit and rub it around. If you want, you can put some on the diaper. Ah- Achoo! Hehe, bless me.” “Such a cute sneeze, ack!” he cooed until some paws kicked him. “We aren’t done yet,” she continued, “Pull the front up and hold it there. Take one of the sides and tape them to the front, the top tapes are more towards the top of the “landing zone”, the front, and the bottom ones to the bottom.” “I think that is all, right?” “Nope,” she sits up and turns around, “remember the tail hole?” “Yeah.” “Grab my tail and feed it through the loop, then tape it up so it won’t slip out.” Now she was diapered too, and he had a chance to check her out since she was turning around to check to make sure he did it right. She even gave a satisfying purr. “Very nice.” He rubbed his head, “thanks, you look cute.” She purrs and walks out of the bathroom. He followed while picking up her battle claws and went back into the main room. Rain beats on the windows and walls, another heavy downpour. Just as she was about to grab her fresh bed from the plastic, but Colin stopped her. “I have a better idea.” After finding a long shirt to put on, he goes over to a closet, many crinkling noises, and diggs around and pulls out what looks like a flat, soft disk and throws it on the floor. A little air magic and it blows into a large bean bag, but not with little beads, memory foam. It is big enough for two people to lie in. He grabs a blanket as well. He gets on the bag, and she follows too and gets comfortable then draping the blanket over them both loosely. Scratch gives him a little lick on the cheek then drifts off to sleep. Colin blushes and before he joins her, he says, “I have an amazing partner.”
