Getting to Know You
Chapter I
A New World
Twenty thousand years later, a young tigress with fox gloves, stockings, tear tracks on her
muzzle, and triangular ears walked through the door of SoGa Industries in Catlanna, Gargia.
On the back of her ears was the typical white spot that tigers and all dark eared cats had. The
tigress was relatively tall, standing 5’10”, and slim, weighing 115 lbs. She had strawberry
blonde hair that reached to between her shoulder blades. She was wearing a white blouse,
dark blue skirt and open-toed shoes with two-inch heels on her plantigrade feet. She
approached the receptionist desk and a brown and white hare with shoulder length black hair.
The hare was wearing a medium blue dress with yellow and white flowers on it. Next to the
hare was a name plate that read “Paula Lagomorph”1. The tigress said, “Miss Lagomorph, I’m
Amanda Fuchs. I have an appointment with Mrs. Impisi.”
The hare said, “Oh, it’s Mrs.” She looked at her appointment book and said, “Yes, Miss Fuchs; I
see you have an appointment with her. Do you know where Mrs. Impisi’s office is located?”
“No, ma’am.”
“Walk through the foyer, turn right at the end. Go to the end of the corridor, turn left and her
office is the third door on the right.”
“Thank you.”
Amanda walked through the foyer and turned right. Just as she turned right, she almost ran into
a caracal man. The caracal said, “Hello-oo beautiful. It’s nice to see another lovely face here.
My name’s Albert Rooikat2. What’s yours?”
Amanda said, “Amanda Fuchs.”
“Nice to meet you, Amanda. Are you going to be working here?”
“I’m hoping to get a job here. Why?”
“Maybe we’ll see a lot of each other, if you do.”
