He was a was a spirited fellow, bathed in a yellow-orange light. An Heir of the Sun, no doubt, his soul purpose, his duty, was to assist her for no other reason than that it was right and just. It was always nice to meet such a traveller, and it put Nezu's mind at ease. Besides, he seemed to be rather slender, if not effeminate beneath the heavy armour he wore. It was almost as if he wore that wolf-shaped helm simply to seem more intimidating! But she couldn't deny his skill - together they cut a swath through the murky darkness that befell the cursed land.
But throughout the trek, Nezu felt something unsettling. It shook her at her core, and filled her with dread. Something had passed through the veil, tearing into her plane of existence with intentions most malicious. Her sun-bathed companion noticed her unease, and encouraged her to continue despite the presence that had intruded on their shared world. Whatever may come, no Heir of the Sun would leave someone in need. He was there for her, and despite the fact the man was little more than an apparition, Nezu felt a warmth from him that comforted her.
They trekked on.
Soon the woman would see the face of what beset her - a phantom bathed in blue light. The armour he wore was of the most common knights, but the weapon he held was truly phenomenal. The sword settled across his shoulder must have been larger than he, yet he held it in one hand and an enormous shield in the other. This man, a rodent clearly, was in league with the Blue Sentinels; justicers who travelled across any void and into any world to punish the wicked.
Nezu had been a very naughty girl.
"Stop, Rat!" The Sentinel shouted, "Today you'll pay for your crimes!"
Nezu looked to her summoned aide, who seemed shocked at this development. Rat? He had no idea that the woman who summoned him, clad in her dark armour, was a servant of the wretched Rat King. Rather than stand in fight, he distanced himself in disgust, leaving the poor rat Nezu to feel even more alone than ever.
"Do you plan to stand in my way?" The Sentinel regarded the Sun Heir.
"Who? Me? No! No way," The ever-so-brave, brightly shining raccoon shook his head. "In fact maybe you'll just let me go? I'm sure we can work something out."
He looked to Nezu then, and his eyes roamed her form from top to bottom. Her armour looked as if it might rend at the seams attempting to hold her body within it. She looked more like a brood mother than some sort of Undead adventurer. "... You know... work something out," He said again, eyebrows waggling and no small tone of suggestion in his voice.
The Sentinel seemed to consider this for a moment, his formally defensive posture easing. "Hmm," He mused aloud, his voice echoing from his metal helmet. After some deliberation, he jammed his gigantic sword into the very stone he stood on just to remove his helmet. He had such a surprisingly handsome face, and was a rodent just like Nezu! For a moment she forgot that some sinister planning was going on right in her presence.
"Alright," The Sentinel-mouse agreed, "I think we can work something out between you and me."
"Yes! Between us!" The Sun Heir grinned, "Preferably bouncing back and forth in some state of undress."
The blue rodent grinned like a cheeky devil, "I do like the way you think."
