Very humid, unpredictable weather, lots of storms, generally difficult to farm, and a pain in the ass to live in for most people. But this smallish village prospers there, partially because they worship and are blessed (cursed) by a god that supposedly lives in a nearby dormant volcano. It grants them absurd amounts of natural strength, health, stamina, toughness, and unparalleled fecundity. (They’re fertile their entire lives and are able to get impregnated by any seed from any species, mysteriously.) It’s also the reason for their size. (All of them being fat/curvy, tall, and amazon-like.) \nIt IS entirely possible that they’re just worshipping a false god and the reason they are the way they are is due to a certain fruit that only grows there. An as of yet unnamed berry that they cultivate. It has a short shelf life and is near-impossible to grow outside of very specific condition. Highly nutritious, they press it into juice form and include it in everything they eat. It works as a natural (and powerful) aphrodisiac. When fermented for several years, it becomes an elixir of sorts, used in a special ritual. More on that later.\nThe only caveat to all this is that no men are born naturally, and the berries are highly addictive, meaning those born in the village have little chance of leaving. Though that’s rarely an issue as they claim it’s a paradise.\nBecause of this, the only way to keep their numbers up is to rely on outsiders.
