Cadance joked that a new mare needed a new name, suggesting Gleaming Shield, to which Shining reminded her that he was only going to be like this until the foal was born, and changing his name would just be confusing. Shining and Cadance then cast the pregnancy spell together, with Shining getting a surprise as the magic pushed into his new marehood and planted itself in his womb. As time went on, Shining adjusted to his new body, and Cadance continuing to call him "Gleaming" in private, despite his protests. Going through the various effects of pregnancy was tougher than he imagined, but strangely fulfilling. To think that his body was carrying a new life, their foal; it gave him a sense of pride. Having to buy maternity clothes was painful at first, but he found the dresses surprisingly comfortable. One day he woke up and felt super horny, and Cadance insisted on helping her "wife" with the problem. The pain was more intense than he'd ever felt before, yet somehow he could withstand it. His body shifted into instincts he didn't know he had as the foal began to crown, stretching him far wider than Cadance's fingers could ever hope to. Despite everything he'd been through over the past months and all the pain, with his wife behind him whispering encouragement and their foal's head pushing out into the air, everything somehow felt right, like he was always meant to do this. With the head fully out, Gleaming had renewed vigor as she pushed to get the foal's shoulders out, letting out a scream as they popped free. Now the rest of the process was mostly up to gravity, with Cadance using magic to make sure the foal didn't fall to the floor. And then, as suddenly as it started, there was nothing left to push. Cadance lifted the foal up with magic, and Gleaming saw her: the beautiful daughter that she'd carried all these months and worked so hard to bring into the world. Gleaming grabbed her from the air and held her close in her arms. Flurry began to reach out, grabbing one of Gleaming's breasts, latched her mouth onto her nipple, and began to suckle, bringing a sensation that Gleaming never could have imagined before. As the three of them held that moment, Gleaming eventually spoke up. "Cadance, I think... I want... to stay like this. To be her mother, and your wife." "I know Gleamy, I filled out the paperwork last month, you just have to sign it." Gleaming couldn't help but smile, she swore her wife knew her better than she did.
