  "description": "I wrote this poem after a brief encounter with a skunk. My undergraduate university was slap in the middle of a national forest, and the students, being students, were pretty careless about leaving candy wrappers and potato chip bags around campus. This made the place a virtual paradise for small scavengers, like skunks, who had no fear of people and a keen nose for tasty treats. This little skunk had found the remains of a party-sized bag of potato chips in the gutter, and he wasn't about to give it up. I didn't get sprayed, but I did get glared at, and that was enough.",
