BOOM.

A rumbling. It started as a silent whisper, a background noise. Cups of water rippled, the ground shook. Books dropped from shelves, odd objects from tables, until it was the tables and shelves themselves being knocked to the ground, as each rumble got stronger and louder, closer and closer.

BOOM.

A dark shadows seemed to fall over the city. The crowd outside buckled to their knees as a shockwave rippled through the street. Each house felt the overpowering force travel through the ground into their foundations.

Another tremor. Loose utensils clattered about, a clock rattled against the wall and there was a distinct twinge wailing from the cheap plastic walls.

BOOM.

There she stood, Chibiusa, graced with a smug grin. Being the holiday season in December, she had dressed for the occassion: a bright green elf outfit with a double-layered miniskirt with red and white accents on the waist and neck fabrics, frilly white ankle socks and shiny black ballet flat shoes. From the soles of her shoes to the top of her head, she towered over everything. Each subtle movement she made was magnified hundreds upon hundreds of times.

Tarmac crumbled underfoot as Chibiusa walked along the street, her heavy footsteps sending tremors through the town. As she continued to get nearer, Chibiusa's giant feet came into view. Each time she lifted up one of her legs, her massive shoe lifted up slowly, ripping back out all that it had pressed into the ground. People could see flattened vehicles and pieces of tarmac, which had stuck to the sole of her shoe, fall back down to the ground. The foot would then move forward before falling back down with a deafening thud. The closer she got, the more crunching and crumbling sounds could be distinguished during her footfalls.

Once more, a tremor ransacked its way through the street. This time the people in the streets were thrown to the ground. At the same time that Chibiusa's foot settled on the ground, distant cracks could be heard as a few houses broke and flattened beneath it.

Chibiusa came to a stop and surveyed the neighborhood sprawled out ahead of her. In the dim light of the evening hours, she could see a glow coming from the houses covered in twinkling lights and decorations. She scanned the hundreds of people gathering in the streets. Farther away, in the town square, she spotted a large Christmas tree. And beyond that, the taller buildings of the downtown area. It all looked like a toy made for ants. But of course, Chibiusa knew it was a bustling metropolis.

Chibiusa chuckled, then spoke in a voice naturally loud enough for the whole village to hear.

"Helloooooo down there!" she said, "Nice evening we're all having? Yes?" she paused, pretending to care if the people had any kind of response to make. "Well, I just thought I'd drop by and have some fun this evening. I think Ill mess around in this festive town of yours. I heard this place is open to any visitors to come and play, so that shouldnt be a problem right?"

She paused again, visibly able to see the people in the street looking around in confusion.

"Maybe I should explain." Chibiusa said, moving her hands onto her hips, "When I said I was gonna mess around in your town, I mean I'm gonna stomp around, smash stuff, and make a big mess of your city!"

Again, the people looked more confused then anything. Chibiusa got annoyed.

"Alright, I see a more simple explanation is needed." she said, "I'm gonna count down from 5, and when I read zero, I'm gonna start stepping on stuff. So, you all start running and screaming, and I'll start crushing~"

She held up her right hand, fingers extended.

"5."

One finger curled down. "4."

The people stared in awe.

Another finger curled down. "3."

A few people on the edges of the crowd began to slowly back away.

"2." Chibiusa said.

Not being able to fully believe in what was happening, the rest of the crowd remained staring.

"1." Only one finger remained extended. Chibiusa's eyes darted back and forth over the crowd and the houses decorated in lights. She couldn't believe how many people weren't taking her seriously.

As her final finger began to curl down to form a fist, Chibiusa's right foot liften and moved forward over a nearby parked car. It wasn't until she casually flattened the cars under her giant foot that the panic finally took effect. The people, now screaming frantically, started running away in all directions.

"0!" Chibiusa said loudly. Chibiusa grinned wide and stepped deeper into the settlement. Shiny black shoes crushed home after home with each and every thundering step. She watched the people scatter and scream around her merciless stompers. The people weren't her intended target, the houses were. But the people just happened to be in her way. The people ran and screamed like mad as they tried to navigate out of the crowded roads. Sadlythe neighborhood was too densely packed for them to get away quickly. It all just egged the giant bully on.

"Geez, I know everything is so small." Chibiusa said in a mocking tone, "But I didn't realize just how fragile everything would be! These houses are so crunchy!"

Chibiusa moved up and down the neighborhood, smashing house after house in a row. She didn't even have to stomp. Just placing her foot on a roof and pressing resulted in the house collapsing with ease. She looked over her shoulder, admiring her footprints, each with a crushed house laying within, their roofs splayed out like the carapace of beetles and everything else smashed into tiny pieces.

Not only was the neighborhood falling apart, it also got darker. As houses disappeared underfoot, the christmas lights were extinguished. The only light left was from fires that broke out among the wreckage.

With the neighborhood in ruins, Chibiusa turned down the street heading towards the downtown area. Directly in her path was the town square. Chibiusa spotted a crowded store about half a street in length and raised her right shoe high over it. A second later and she slammed her foot down for a devastating stomp. The store, as well as the surrounding festive trees, burst apart. Wood splinters flew through the air alongside chunks on concrete.

Next in her path, the big decorated Christmas tree in the center of the square. Taking her right foot, Chibiusa tilted her shoe all the way back on it's heel and moved it up close to the tree. From heel to toe, her shoe was almost the same size in length as the tree was tall. Now in position, Chibiusa slowly completed her motion of her foot's step.

The sole of Chibiusa's shiny black shoe slowly pushed the tree over. Branches cracked and snapped and the entire tree began to fall over sideways, the massive shoe pushing down from above. From above, Chibiusa could see bits of branches sticking out from the sides of her shoe.

Suddenly she heard the sounds of sirens, and several police cars appeared, heading her way. They skidded to a stop at the end of the square, attempting to block the path into the city's bustling downtown area. The officers got a close-up view of the tree as it was scrunched into the ground beneath the massive shoe.

Chibiusa let out a loud giggle, twisiting her foot back and forth on the tree, shredding it.

More police cars came closer and stopped in front of Chibiusa, blocking her way. Some were parked across the street, the others parallel, closing the passage completely.

"Don't worry, officers. I'm very careful with where I put my feet." She said, giving them a cute, innocent smile. Without pausing Chibiusa stepped over the tree and trampled over the police cars with her giant feet.

Loud screeching could be heard as the vehicles crumpled, writhed, folded and twisted under the massive shoes. Some of the officers didn't even manage to leave the cars before they got smothered.

Despite her massive size, Chibiusa's movments seemed slow. She definitely wasn't in a rush. Plenty of buildings and cars caught her attention, then lost it as they turned to rubble in quaking stomps. The sound of buildings shattering filled the city as she wrought havoc with a joyous expression on her face. Her teeth shined white as snow in the grin that accompanied almost every quaking stomp she inflicted.

Soon enough, the town square too lay in ruins. The roads were torn and shattered, and all the surrounding buildings had been trampled down. There was still so much city left to go, especially in the downtown area, but Chibiusa figured it wouldnt take long. The only structure taller than her knees was some of the very tall skyscrapers.

Chibiusa looked down at her feet, where she was stnding on the remains of another store. Twisting her foot slightly, she watched what remained of the building collapse onto the top of her shoe in a heap of twisted metal and rubble. The feeling of power was exhilarating! She had known that the humans would be no match for her but to actually see it for herself was so much fun to her.

Looking up at the city lying before her, she began walking towards the city's center.

The main street was in complete chaos! Above all this stood Chibiusa. She stood with her legs astride the main street and looked down at the people flooding down the street away from her.

"You're all still here?!" she said, laughing, "Ready or not, here I come!"

Chibiusa began to walk down the main street. Each step shook the buildings on each side almost to the point of collapse. She was taking slow and measured steps, each step crushing a dozen or more fleeing townspeople. In just a few steps she had traversed the entire length of the street. Looking over her shoulder, she admired her path. Enormous footprints pressed into the broken concrete, each filled with the flattened remains of cars and buses she had stepped on.

Turning around, Chibiusa walked back the way she had come, this time crushing the buildings on each side for good measure. Sweeping her leg in an outward arc, her shoe bulldozed entire city blocks in that single movement.

Turning to look once more, Chibiusa observed what remained of the street. The far end of the road that cut through the city of was ablaze. Buildings were lying in the street in rubble and smoke was filling the sky. Content with her work, Chibiusa turned down a side street and crossed a large parking lot. Parked cars crunched loudly underfoot as Chibiusa approached another building, this one much shorter than she was.

Inside the building, on one of the upper floors, a group of people was partaking in their annual Christmas party. Lots and lots of alcohol was involved and the room had descended into chaos with laughing and shouting and too many people crammed into a room not big enough for them all.

So it should surprise no one that none of these people in their drunken stupor noticed a pair of legs appear outside the windows. Or these legs bend at the knees and a massive body descend from above. Only when the light from outside was covered up and a massive eye appeared right outside the glass, did people start to realize something was off.

For a moment, dozens of people stared out the glass and the giant eye stared back. All movement ceased as the people hoped maybe this massive girl would just move on. The eye looked back and forth. Then, lifting out of sight, a giant mouth appeared instead, curled up into a grin of exposed teeth. The teeth opened and a rush of air was sucked in. The people in the room braced.

At nearly point-blank range, Chibiusa let out an intentional scream at the glass. The ear-piercing wail shattered the glass immediately and sent all the people flying back against the wall, falling into a heap. The building itself heaved and shuttered, cracks spreading across the walls and ceilings and plaster raining down from above. Furniture jumped and fell over.

Finally, Chibiusa stopped screaming and pulled back. Through the now broken window, people watched Chibiusa's tongue thrash around for a moment before relaxing into a stable position. With a cheerful laugh, she rose back up out of view, back to her full height, her attention now fully drawn on the building below. Her foot lifted and moved slowly into position overhead.

SMASH.

Her foot slammed down on the office building. The sounds of crumbling glass and concrete echoed through the building, as the foundation struggled to stand under the force. Hands on her hips, she started twisting her heel. Satisfying groans and horrified screeches resonated from the building in protest. Slowly but surely, it gave way. Those who hadn't been smashed in the initial stomp were soon lost under piles of debris as floor upon floor tumbled onto each other. She watched the whole structure collapse to rubble beneath her foot. For good measure, she ground the building like one would put out a cigarette, stepping on it multiple times.

Directly behind that building stood another building, almost the same height. This time instead, Chibiusa didn't stomp it outright. Her foot came up and crunched into the edge of the building's roof. With both a downward and forward movement, Chibiusa gave the building a shove with her foot and it began to topple over. The building fell on top of several other buildings and demolished all of them on it's way to the ground. Chibiusa trampled the collapsed remains with several firm stomps of her shoes.

As she crossed some railroad tracks, Chibiusa heard her stomach growl. She had lost track of time and, with the sky darkening quickly in the evening hours, she looked down atthe still panicing crowd.

"Hmm, sorry about this." she said, squatting down and reaching out with her right hand, "But a busy girl has to eat!"

Large fingers dug into the crowd and closed, lifting dozens of people off the ground and into the air. Still in a squatting postion, her skirts casting a dark shadow on all those under her, she brought the people up to her face. Her mouth sponend and she dumped the group inside, closing her jaws and casting the people in darkness. She moved them around inside her mouth, enjoying their struggle as they fought against the unstoppable power of her tongue. Finally, she swallowed, and a large bulge moved down her throat.

Chibiusa repeated this with more stragglers running undeneath her, eating at least 20 more people. As she bent over to snatch at a lively bunch of people scurrying past, she felt a small impact against her right shoe.

Turned to her side, Chibiusa saw that a passenger train had ran into the side of her shoe. She had forgotten she had been standing on the tracks while hunting her dinner. The engine had crumpled itself in the collision, apparently they hadn't stopped in time. Aside from the mangled engine, the other passengers seemed fine and were trying to leave the train cars as fast as they could. Unfortunately in the derailment, the doors got dented in the collision, and most were jammed.

Chibiusa immediately saw this as her new source of entertainment. After standing back up to her full height, Chibiusa lifted her foot over the stopped train.

Placing her right shoe on top of the smoldering cab, Chibiusa pressed down and squashed the entire engine. The fire was extinguished, and a few people breathed a sigh of relief at that, thinking they were safe from the fire. Then, Chibiusa moved her left shoe in front of the right, flattening the next train car, then the right in front of the left, heel to toe, heel to toe, and so on.

Chibiusa walked atop the train like a line to follow. Her balance was perfect, and her fingers rested gently at her hips in her saunter. One and a half full passenger coaches were crushed with every quaking step of those unyielding shiny black shoes. The passengers inside were helpless as the ceiling crushed in on them. The coaches tore like foil beneath the might of her hard soles as Chibiusa casually walked along. She chuckled with every compacting crunch that rung out.

With the entire length of the train flattened and torn apart, Chibiusa took one last look around. It was, for the most part, a smoking ruin. In the darkness of the now night hours, mounds of rubble burned among a patchwork of massive footprints pressed deep into the earth. Farther back, the ruined neighborhood could be seen, glowing not from Christmas lights, but from fires. Streets lay full of crushed cars pressed deep into the tarmac in huge craters where her shoes had pounded them from above.

Chibiusa smiled. One city was no more but she knew she was far from finished. She would be very busy this Christmas Eve.
