"writing": "The vast moon stretched immense, full, and heavy across the starry night sky… A grand and radiant backdrop against the landscape below…\n\nAn odious scythe whirled into the air… Its blade caught the moon and reflected its light with an aethereal gleam…\n\nIt collided suddenly and with a sharp CLINK against a grand crown of antlers, and was flung away… tossed into the sky as if to the moon herself...\n\nCrescent panted sharply, knelt on one knee and wiping away a bit of blood from above her brow. Her foe stumbled slowly on three legs, the ragged stump of the fourth shifting uselessly… She tossed her head and a gasp of air jetted from her muzzle as mist…\n\n“Xerneas…” the iron fairy hissed in frustration… Her eyes shimmered with demonic crimson hue, as she pulled herself back to a stand… Black blood dribbled from her chin, and sizzled as it hit her contracting, pregnant middle…\n\nThe Legend of Life huffed out sharply again, yet took a few determined steps forward anyway… The immense gravidity of their own fawn laden midsection was dragging them down almost worse than their injury… Their severed leg laid far aside them, its blood long ago wasted on the grass, and its form shrivelled…\n\n“Autumn… will be mad… I didn’t bring you whole…” Crescent gasped.\n\nXerneas’s horns glowed brightly, and the same glow enveloped their leg stump. Its wound slowly closed. Crescent’s eyes flashed angrily, but then they locked on her foe’s antlers... Though her scythe was too far to retrieve now, it had made an almost imperceptible fracture where it struck...\n\nShe braced herself into a battle stance, unable to contain a shriek of effort as she leapt up and caught the horns firmly in both hands… Xerneas returned the shriek, but Crescent crushed her fists until she heard a crack… She put her full weight on the antlers, and felt them splinter in her grasp until she abruptly fell to the grass…\n\n\n\nXerneas reared again and stumbled back on their hind legs. Above, the stumps of their horns gushed a pure and colourful fluid, as Crescent slowly lifted herself back up and hefted her prizes. The same fluid leaked in thin rivulets down from their shattered ends, and coated her arms… Though it leaked in a rainbow of colours, as soon as it hit her flesh it sizzled and took on but a single colour;\n\nRed.\n\n“Come on then…” she said, in a rasp almost too quiet to be heard, before she began to walk back towards her prey…\n\n===\n\nCLANK\n\nCrescent lifted the hammer with a soft wince… And then swung it down again firmly…\n\nCLANK\n\nThe large hammer she’d forged herself was now used to forge other things, such as the fairy horns laid across her anvil…\n\nCLANK\n\nIt was slow going. Her body was still beaten and bruised… She hadn’t died in the battle… Proud as that made her, it meant that she was covered in bruises and cuts, and her body was utterly burdened in other ways too…\n\nCLANK, clatter…\n\nThe hammer fell aside. It was also slow going because she could only use one arm. The other was fully occupied by the immense Mawile baby that she could barely hold, but refused to put down…\n\nNo good hunter gave up any of their prizes… Especially not a hunt as bountiful as this…\n\nPatting her baby on the back, she turned, having sensed someone at the door. Autumn stood there wreathed in shadows, her eyes a pair of smouldering scarlet orbs suspended in the dark…\n\n“Feeling better, dear?” she asked, paws folding behind her back as she walked in and glanced about the acrid, oppressive smithing room… Hot, covered in soot… The dread cat’s own kitchen was often sweltering, but it seemed to her to be a cozy warmth compared to the workshop’s choking heat...\n\n“Mm.” grunted Crescent, a soft smile on her face. Though weakened and tired, she stood proud as ever. Autumn seemed to be just as proud, as she glanced past her and stepped forward…\n\n“These are it then…?”\n\n“Those are it.”\n\nAutumn marvelled at the gleaming collection on the wall, still exuding steam off of their razor edges, fresh from the crucible… Hung next to Crescent’s scythe was a display of blades made from Xerneas’s antlers… Their unique golden structures were faintly tainted by evil… Autumn envisioned pure white angel feathers soaked in blood when she looked upon them...\n\n“Exquisite… Just as much as I expected of you…”\n\n“Still should not have gone out there as I was… It was irresponsible… I do not know why you insisted.” Crescent said, idly...\n\nAutumn glanced back at the baby in Crescent’s arms, who was suckling softly from her mother’s chest. The cat’s wild, inspired expression briefly relaxed at the cuteness, but then focused on Crescent again.\n\n“So…” Autumn said, eagerly… “Tell me how it happened…”\n\n\n===\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAlmost a month ago, Autumn had come to Crescent with honeyed words of conquest. Crescent was less interested in the overall plots and schemes of her sisters or even those of the master of the house, obedient as she remained… Yet Autumn had been so very excited by whatever she was saying that in the end, she managed to capture Crescent’s attention with the revelation that a very special Pokemon was nesting nearby…\n\nNesting! And she had also been foolish enough to make her den close enough that Crescent could travel from the manor to observe her prey idly. Watching daily from a hidden perch above the den as the doe waddled around slowly, heavy with her spawn… The lack of challenge such a pregnant Pokemon would likely give, (or indeed NOT give), made Crescent wonder if she shouldn’t simply wait until the condition was dealt with...\n\nThe pulse of two heartbeats simultaneously in one body. The feeling of an another life shifting about inside you… Crescent had been feeling it just as heavily. But once her pregnancy was just as far along as Xerneas’, she knew that she could not resist… \n\nAs Autumn knew she would be unable to…\n\nOn that lonely night, the moon was full, and the Fairy types were invigorated. As soon as dusk came the door to the manor flew open, and Crescent bounded out…\n\nHer stomach was clenching uncomfortably. With the moon high and her middle roiling, her eyes sparkled with dire excitement. Her scythe seemed to take on the lunar glow as she scented the blood of so many Pokemon nearby…\n\nTheir auras were like delicious aromas to her… Their experiences, their memories… All of it kindling their life, and soon it would instead be igniting the powers of the damned for her pleasure…\n\nShe landed heavily, skidding to a halt in front of a terrified looking Aipom. She reared the scythe back…\n\nA path of sorrow and agony was torn through the forests… Across the countryside, no creature felt safe. The wicked eyes of the demon huntress roved like spotlights, searching for a victim for her cruel blade…\n\nShe burst from the treeline, literally leaping and landing with a thud on a small overlooking path. She was breathing hard, and leaned heavily against her weapon. She flickered with crimson energy, so suffused with souls’ power that any average Pokemon coming across her would have surely perished...\n\nDozens of souls… Slipped down her throat like candies… Her scythe dripped… Steam curled from her maw…\n\nShe locked eyes on the doe, who had emerged from her den and was now staring up at the enemy she knew had come to take her at her most vulnerable…\n\nBoth females felt their midsections… clench… Crescent couldn’t help but laugh as she leapt into the valley and dashed towards Xerneas eagerly, the scythe reared back for a deadly strike…\n\nLegends are made in moments like this… or indeed, unmade. Xerneas was never going to be easy to take, and Crescent never assumed she would. If both were at their peak, this battle would be no less bloody…\n\n...but somehow, thrusting her scythe out to shove the deer back, she felt more alive than ever… Her belly thrashing and pressing inwards so hard that she wondered if she would survive… And yet at every moment as she listened to the rapid drumbeat of her pulse pounding, she was reminded of how she had forged the weapon of doom she now wielded against her prey…\n\nThe great moon above… Its light cascading down like a waterfall… Blessing their conflict… Demanding a winner… Demanding a prize…!\n\nThe blade locked again and again with the rack of the Legendary deer, who deflected it time and again. Crescent dodged every ray fired at her, but each time as she caught up to her foe, they bounded away with stunning grace. Crescent was awed into pausing the first time she saw the leap, and suffered a blast directly to her middle for that. She was coughing blood as she dashed back for retaliation…\n\n\n\n\nTheir bodies screamed at them to stop… Begged them to focus on the fact that their babies were coming… But they would not. They knew that the moment they allowed themselves to be overwhelmed, the other would take advantage…\n\nThoughts of awakening in the manor, to explain her failure…\n\n...to explain the loss of her baby...\n\nSo she would not allow herself to perish…!\n\nShe skidded back, wheezing as she leaned against her weapon. The Xerneas tossed her head a few times in a warning display. Crescent dragged her blade, creating a tract in the dust. She charged the doe again, and again they braced their graceful, slender legs… Ready to leap and leave Crescent with only the taunting, gravid silhouette across the blessed moon…\n\nAnd then… It had happened… Or as Crescent would say afterwards…\n\n“The moon chose her champion…”\n\nAs she prepared to leap, the Xerneas felt a sharp twinge in her middle. Crescent watched her stumble heavily as a sharp gush of fluid splattered from her backside. As she swayed and stumbled, Crescent’s eyes opened wider in excited focus…\n\nAh… She was a NEW mother… One who thought she was prepared for the trial of labour, but who truly did not know what she was feeling until she felt hooves slip from her intimates…\n\nCrescent braced her foot, pivoted her dash, and swung hard. The deer only just managed to dodge… but not far enough…\n\nThe demon skidded to the side from the force of her swing. She held the pose, panting hard with the effort… Behind her, the leg she had severed finally landed, splattering blood…\n\nThe Xerneas screamed… \n\nCrescent grinned excitedly… Then she tried to straighten, only to double over hard in pain…\n\nShe was not exempt from the trials either… Her own glittering pink fluids splattered her inner thighs from the effort… And her baby was deciding it was impatient…\n\nCrescent lifted her head, snarled, and flung her scythe, aiming to sever the deer’s head…\n\n===\n\n“Instead…”\n\nCrescent said, standing next to the weapon rack, looking up at them as she told the story to Autumn…\n\n“She deflected it with her horns… And I was left without my weapon. Given enough concentration, she could probably heal and survive… And if I were to try and fight her with my claws, while my little one was coming… I couldn’t have guaranteed my victory.”\n\n“So you took the horns…?!” Autumn laughed… “Marvellous…!”\n\n“I saw that my blade had made it possible. And I knew it would harm her… So I tore off two to use to strike and stab… But as it turned out, the way their material is shaped meant it had sharp edges too…\n\nShe reached up and traced her hand along the side of one of the weapons…\n\n“These… short blades. Limb-takers. Heavy… I started here…”\n\n===\n\nCrescent swung each antler with furious precision. Her palms bled, and her baby forced its way lower into her body whether she desired it or not. She barely paid attention… But the Xerneas swung their head and knocked her back a few steps…\n\nThe fairy deer stood slowly, shrieking again for help. They were losing so much of their shining blood that they couldn’t keep themselves up. Their back legs slid apart, and they shrieked again, this time in pain…\n\nCrescent stalked up to her, and then looked down at the antlers in her hands… She tossed them with a clatter onto a flat rock nearby…\n\nShe reached up… Grabbed two more horns… And then pulled…\n\nThe Xerneas struggled and made desperate, agonized noises… Their antlers strained… Cracking further from where they were severed… splintering painfully until…\n\nWith a howl to the moon above, Crescent pulled two more antlers from the skull of her prey: The two that now hung as swords in her workshop. She struck the deer with each for good measure, taking ragged chunks from her flesh before tossing them with the other two… And then she repeated the process… Tormenting the deer even more by wrenching off the two longest antlers to later remake them as javelins… Corrupting their purity and beauty with hellfire...\n\nAs the Xerneas panted in agony, and almost in time with Crescent’s huffs of pain… she pushed her front leg against the ground and spread her back legs as far as they would go. She pushed with such inexperience that her baby shifted more from gravity and movement than from her effort. She moaned out a feral cry of desperation, her broken crown drooling rainbows of colours as her baby forced its way against the thick lips between her legs… Its hooves slid from her and protruded far, trembling under her effort and heavily dripping fluids… Was it out? No… Just its legs…\n\nCould she do this…? \n\nShe felt the demon grip her face…\n\nAnother howl rang out… By now, all sane Pokemon had fled as far as they could. The light flickered and bounded like a thunderstorm’s as Crescent… pulled…\n\nThe deer screamed and thrashed. They weakened evermore, and begged silently with their gaze for mercy… Their baby twitched and squirmed in her passage, but then she felt it slow its movement. She gasped as something detached from her, and flitted away into the night…\n\n\n\nThe life dwindled from them both… The Xerneas brayed weakly… One life… Just one to be spared... \n\n...even if not her own…?\n\nBut as she pushed… As she felt their fawn’s head fall partially from her body and dangle…\n\nThe last thing they saw was Crescent’s intense, fearsome aura… Her eyes drilling into their soul…\n\n...moments before she consumed it…\n\nThis was the reason she hunted. The ephemeral glowing fire she had torn from the deer had sucked all warmth from its surroundings in a desperate bid to stay solid. Its multicoloured lights cascaded off of the surroundings in a terrible, yet wondrous display before Crescent ‘swallowed’…\n\nIntoxicating… An icy chill as it drew down her ‘throat’, spreading through her very core and quelling the demonic inferno just a little, before bringing it back with twice the intensity. There were no physical flavours, but especially a soul this rare and powerful she would describe as… sweet. Like the most exotic fruit…\n\nFor a moment after consumption, she felt four legs below, and antlers above. She relished the glimpse… The perspective of another for a few brief seconds… While her body roiled inside...\n\nHer middle gurgled loudly and then expanded outwards. Her body pulsed with life once more, the worst wounds on her flesh closing and her fatigue fading…\n\nShe gave a triumphant scream… Then fell to her hands and knees…\n\nShe still had a job to do… The one the Xerneas had failed…\n\nLaid against a rock… Legs spread… Staring at the collection of antlers before her, still dripping that light and prismatic blood… She saw only material to use in her workshop, trying to focus on her victory more than the oncoming climax of pain…\n\nShe arched and gasped as her baby wriggled. It was so much larger than before… Fed so well by the life legend’s vital force that it had become almost too large to bear… But bear down her mother must. She placed her hands on her middle and curled forward, growling as she finally gave in to that unrelenting urge, and pushed. The impatient baby should have been easy to slide free after so much ‘holding in’, but…\n\nIt was like trying to birth a foal… The knelt doe’s pale corpse had its head laid back against its own body, the glassy eyes reflecting the moon uselessly. Their expression seemed mocking, as if Crescent had stolen her baby in more ways than one. The Life Legend struck at her beyond the grave; her soul had made Crescent’s baby so much larger… \n\nShe would have to prove her maternal skill, or risk becoming like her prey; bloody and broken with a baby halfway hanging from their dead body...\n\nUnder the moon’s watchful eye, she braced, pushed, and then panted uselessly until she could do it again. The battle had scared away even the bravest of Pokemon, all of them terrified to lose their souls to the wicked night hunter, moon blessed mother of the hunt! She roared loud enough for it to echo into the distance and be heard by the cowards…\n\nShe was alone… She was in labour… And as she pushed hard, a slick black head began to crown from her for her effort...\n\n“A Mawile…!” she gasped... The actual head was not particularly large… But the horn folded against her body explained why she was struggling so… With so much to stretch her so far, she worried briefly if she would split…\n\nBut she again thought of the terrifying presence of her master, and having to explain her failure… All the effort to take this prey would be worth nothing… She would toss every antler away if it meant keeping her baby safe…!\n\nShe clutched her tummy… Puffed a few sharp breaths… And then…\n\n“AAAAAAAAAA!!!”\n\n\n===\n\n\n“I birthed with all the grace you’ve come to expect from me.” Crescent said, as she turned and started to wander away… “I have a lot to do. After that, you know what happened. I dragged myself, and my newborn, and the carcass home.”\n\nShe said that as if it was nothing. Autumn chuckled darkly…\n\n“The meat from this will be divine you know…”\n\nCrescent stopped and looked over her shoulder…\n\n“Is that all? Is that the reason I hunted? For the taste?”\n\nAutumn grinned and said nothing. Crescent squinted at her, but then sighed and left. The demonic chef turned and folded her paws behind her back again…\n\n“Mm… The taste is important Crescent… Wouldn’t you agree?”\n\nAutumn said to the empty room, as she reached down to pick up the deer’s skull, still festooned with shards of the antlers. One looked particular sharp…\n\n“What could be more important…?”\n\n\n\n==End==\n\n",

Crescent was less interested in the overall plots and schemes of her sisters or even those of the master of the house, obedient as she remained… Yet Autumn had been so very excited by whatever she was saying that in the end, she managed to capture Crescent’s attention with the revelation that a very special Pokemon was nesting nearby…

Nesting! And she had also been foolish enough to make her den close enough that Crescent could travel from the manor to observe her prey idly. Watching daily from a hidden perch above the den as the doe waddled around slowly, heavy with her spawn… The lack of challenge such a pregnant Pokemon would likely give, (or indeed NOT give), made Crescent wonder if she shouldn’t simply wait until the condition was dealt with...

The pulse of two heartbeats simultaneously in one body. The feeling of an another life shifting about inside you… Crescent had been feeling it just as heavily. But once her pregnancy was just as far along as Xerneas’, she knew that she could not resist…

As Autumn knew she would be unable to…

On that lonely night, the moon was full, and the Fairy types were invigorated. As soon as dusk came the door to the manor flew open, and Crescent bounded out…

Her stomach was clenching uncomfortably. With the moon high and her middle roiling, her eyes sparkled with dire excitement. Her scythe seemed to take on the lunar glow as she scented the blood of so many Pokemon nearby…

Their auras were like delicious aromas to her… Their experiences, their memories… All of it kindling their life, and soon it would instead be igniting the powers of the damned for her pleasure…

She landed heavily, skidding to a halt in front of a terrified looking Aipom. She reared the scythe back…

A path of sorrow and agony was torn through the forests… Across the countryside, no creature felt safe. The wicked eyes of the demon huntress roved like spotlights, searching for a victim for her cruel blade…

She burst from the treeline, literally leaping and landing with a thud on a small overlooking path. She was breathing hard, and leaned heavily against her weapon. She flickered with crimson energy, so suffused with souls’ power that any average Pokemon coming across her would have surely perished...

Dozens of souls… Slipped down her throat like candies… Her scythe dripped… Steam curled from her maw…

She locked eyes on the doe, who had emerged from her den and was now staring up at the enemy she knew had come to take her at her most vulnerable…

Both females felt their midsections… clench… Crescent couldn’t help but laugh as she leapt into the valley and dashed towards Xerneas eagerly, the scythe reared back for a deadly strike…

Legends are made in moments like this… or indeed, unmade. Xerneas was never going to be easy to take, and Crescent never assumed she would. If both were at their peak, this battle would be no less bloody…

...but somehow, thrusting her scythe out to shove the deer back, she felt more alive than ever… Her belly thrashing and pressing inwards so hard that she wondered if she would survive… And yet at every moment as she listened to the rapid drumbeat of her pulse pounding, she was reminded of how she had forged the weapon of doom she now wielded against her prey…

The great moon above… Its light cascading down like a waterfall… Blessing their conflict… Demanding a winner… Demanding a prize…!

The blade locked again and again with the rack of the Legendary deer, who deflected it time and again. Crescent dodged every ray fired at her, but each time as she caught up to her foe, they bounded away with stunning grace. Crescent was awed into pausing the first time she saw the leap, and suffered a blast directly to her middle for that. She was coughing blood as she dashed back for retaliation…

Their bodies screamed at them to stop… Begged them to focus on the fact that their babies were coming… But they would not. They knew that the moment they allowed themselves to be overwhelmed, the other would take advantage…

Thoughts of awakening in the manor, to explain her failure…

...to explain the loss of her baby...

So she would not allow herself to perish…!

She skidded back, wheezing as she leaned against her weapon. The Xerneas tossed her head a few times in a warning display. Crescent dragged her blade, creating a tract in the dust. She charged the doe again, and again they braced their graceful, slender legs… Ready to leap and leave Crescent with only the taunting, gravid silhouette across the blessed moon…

And then… It had happened… Or as Crescent would say afterwards…

“The moon chose her champion…”

As she prepared to leap, the Xerneas felt a sharp twinge in her middle. Crescent watched her stumble heavily as a sharp gush of fluid splattered from her backside. As she swayed and stumbled, Crescent’s eyes opened wider in excited focus…

Ah… She was a NEW mother… One who thought she was prepared for the trial of labour, but who truly did not know what she was feeling until she felt hooves slip from her intimates…

Crescent braced her foot, pivoted her dash, and swung hard. The deer only just managed to dodge… but not far enough…

The demon skidded to the side from the force of her swing. She held the pose, panting hard with the effort… Behind her, the leg she had severed finally landed, splattering blood…

The Xerneas screamed…

Crescent grinned excitedly… Then she tried to straighten, only to double over hard in pain…

She was not exempt from the trials either… Her own glittering pink fluids splattered her inner thighs from the effort… And her baby was deciding it was impatient…

Crescent lifted her head, snarled, and flung her scythe, aiming to sever the deer’s head…

===

“Instead…”

Crescent said, standing next to the weapon rack, looking up at them as she told the story to Autumn…

“She deflected it with her horns… And I was left without my weapon. Given enough concentration, she could probably heal and survive… And if I were to try and fight her with my claws, while my little one was coming… I couldn’t have guaranteed my victory.”

“So you took the horns…?!” Autumn laughed… “Marvellous…!”

“I saw that my blade had made it possible. And I knew it would harm her… So I tore off two to use to strike and stab… But as it turned out, the way their material is shaped meant it had sharp edges too…

She reached up and traced her hand along the side of one of the weapons…

“These… short blades. Limb-takers. Heavy… I started here…”

===

Crescent swung each antler with furious precision. Her palms bled, and her baby forced its way lower into her body whether she desired it or not. She barely paid attention… But the Xerneas swung their head and knocked her back a few steps…

The fairy deer stood slowly, shrieking again for help. They were losing so much of their shining blood that they couldn’t keep themselves up. Their back legs slid apart, and they shrieked again, this time in pain…

Crescent stalked up to her, and then looked down at the antlers in her hands… She tossed them with a clatter onto a flat rock nearby…

She reached up… Grabbed two more horns… And then pulled…

The Xerneas struggled and made desperate, agonized noises… Their antlers strained… Cracking further from where they were severed… splintering painfully until…

With a howl to the moon above, Crescent pulled two more antlers from the skull of her prey: The two that now hung as swords in her workshop. She struck the deer with each for good measure, taking ragged chunks from her flesh before tossing them with the other two… And then she repeated the process… Tormenting the deer even more by wrenching off the two longest antlers to later remake them as javelins… Corrupting their purity and beauty with hellfire...

As the Xerneas panted in agony, and almost in time with Crescent’s huffs of pain… she pushed her front leg against the ground and spread her back legs as far as they would go. No… Just its legs…

Could she do this…?

She felt the demon grip her face…

Another howl rang out… By now, all sane Pokemon had fled as far as they could. The light flickered and bounded like a thunderstorm’s as Crescent… pulled…

The deer screamed and thrashed. They weakened evermore, and begged silently with their gaze for mercy… Their baby twitched and squirmed in her passage, but then she felt it slow its movement. She gasped as something detached from her, and flitted away into the night…

The life dwindled from them both… The Xerneas brayed weakly… One life… Just one to be spared...

...even if not her own…?

But as she pushed… As she felt their fawn’s head fall partially from her body and dangle…

The last thing they saw was Crescent’s intense, fearsome aura… Her eyes drilling into their soul…

...moments before she consumed it…

This was the reason she hunted. The ephemeral glowing fire she had torn from the deer had sucked all warmth from its surroundings in a desperate bid to stay solid. Its multicoloured lights cascaded off of the surroundings in a terrible, yet wondrous display before Crescent ‘swallowed’…

Intoxicating… An icy chill as it drew down her ‘throat’, spreading through her very core and quelling the demonic inferno just a little, before bringing it back with twice the intensity.
